Ahoy! There Be WTF Fashion At Yves Saint Laurent P-arrr-ty

There be some pirate-looking fashions at the Yves Saint Laurent Bell D’Opium Fragrance Launch yesterday, specifically on the head of Ashley Olsen. Wearing a head scaarrrf and waterproof trench coat, Olsen looked both prepared for inclement weather and ready to dig for doubloons.

Fortunately for our eyes, there were plenty of other people taking fewer fashion risks who looked amazing, like Maggie Gyllenhall and Whitney Port who both looked lovely and chic. To see them, plus  a close-up of Ashley channeling Jack Sparrow, check out our gallery.

Nicole Richie Gets Bed Head Down Under

60778493

Nicole Richie looks amazing all the time (to be fair, she did go through a dark period during her Simple Life extensions-and-lowlights phase) but lately, she can do no wrong. Even her mugshot is attractive. So of course she rocked the tousled hair and lamé jacket at a Style Space VIP Event in Sydney this week. Her messy look is everything we aspire to and yet somehow, we we try it, we just end up looking homeless. Sigh. Guess we need to work on that.

Jennifer Lopez Goes For The Gold

Jennifer Lopez

Leave it to J. Lo to look like an award when she’s getting one. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony accepted the Ruby Dee & Ossie Davis Arts And Humanitarian Award at the Apollo Theater’s annual benefit concert, with Lopez sporting a banging gold dress with matching hair. You know, for all the talk about her shrinking movie career and non-existent music sales, J. Lo still gets around! See more photos of her (and her omnipresent husband) in the gallery below.

Kelis’ Hat Is A Fungus Among Us

60697916

We know Kelis for two things: the fact that her milkshake brings boys (How many? Only ALL of them) to the yard, and that she and Nas had a nasty divorce. Now we know a third thing: she likes to wear hats that look like mushrooms. The singer was at the ELLE Magazine “Women In Music” Issue party last night at the Highline Ballroom in New York to celebrate herself and her peers (and, from the appearances of Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo, it looks like the event might also end up being an episode of The City, we’re guessing). Other attendees included Cassie and Patti LaBelle, but really, it was Kelis’ button mushroom hat that stole the show. Check out some of the other, less-shroomy outfits that were in attendance below.

CMT Awards Bring Dazzle To Nashville

60693668

If anything, the CMT Awards proved last night that country music’s profile has grown – to the point where Snooki and The Situation even want to be a part of it.  Carrie Underwood was the biggest winner of the night, taking home the Performance of the Year and Video of the Year awards, but the real story was the fashion, and who was wearing it.

Over the past few years, celebs like Nicole Kidman have started to ingratiate themselves into the country scene (it helps to marry Keith Urban), but last night was a who’s who of Hollywood celebs that felt more like a movie premiere than a night at the Opry. Check out our gallery featuring Kidman, Luke Wilson (perhaps to test his AT&T service in Nashville), Snooki and so many others. Of course our favorite look of the night was Kenan Thompson as Reba McIntyre with Reba McIntyre. He looks good in green, what can we say?

One Hand In My Pocket At Stella McCartney Fashion Show

SPL186543_001

It was all about pockets at Stella McCartney‘s Spring 2011 Fashion Presentation in New York yesterday – not on the runway, but in the audience. We’re huge fans of dresses with pockets, but the trend was out in full force on every attendee, whether they were in a skirt, dress, jeans or jumpsuit. Honestly, not a single person could resist hiding their hands for these photos. Two is a coincidence, three is a trend, and ten is like, a wart epidemic or something, what are these people hiding?

Presented Without Commentary: Teresa Giudice, Her Head Wrap And An Ice Sculpture

60672185

We have no idea what bankrupt Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice was thinking as she arrived to the 4th Annual Ladies’ Night Out benefit yesterday. All we know is that she came to have fun, wear a head wrap and pose next to an ice sculpture of a four-legged horse-or-camel. For more Jersey-fabulous outfits, check out our gallery of the event. Warning: there are a lot of competing prints, tiaras and dangly accessories to wrap your mind around.

Dear Pete Wentz, It Is SUMMER. Retire The Wool Hat.

SPL184124_001

Maybe we’re just cranky because it’s currently 85 degrees in midtown Manhattan and that means the heat and stink of summer is officially upon us. But you know what? It’s summer everywhere in the U.S. right now and there’s no reason to be wearing wool anything, especially not a wool ski cap. We’re looking at YOU, Pete Wentz. Seeing you out partying with Ashlee Simpson in your winter casual wear is making us hot, and not in a metaphorical way, more like in an our-air-conditioner-needs-to-be-installed kind of way.

The pair were captured exiting a club in L.A. last night – who knew California in June would  be so brisk?

Women In Film Love Their Little Black Dresses

60613568

At the Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards last night, some of the most fashion forward actresses around toned down their looks and stuck with the basic little black dress. Seriously, it was like there was a Hollywood phone chain and they all called each other in advance to make a fashion plan.

“This is Courteney on the horn, who’s this? Debra Messing? You old so and so, we haven’t talked since we were both on Must See TV back in  the day! What’s that? All black outfits? Really? Did Hudgens agree to this too? Okay, I’m in. Latah!” Courteney Cox and Zoe Saldana were  honorees at  the award ceremony which was hosted by Messing.

The army of black was interrupted by a few brave souls who brought some color to the party (we’re loving Busy Phillips‘ gold number) but overall the looks were subtle and simple. Maybe they’re waiting to pull out the big guns and get creative at the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday.
