Oprah may have thought the question everyone wanted to ask Usher was whether he makes love to his own music (answer: yes), but really what we all wanted to know was whether he really did cheat on Tameka Foster, with one of her own bridesmaids. On Oprah’s Next Chapter, his answer was a firm … not really.
“No. I was faithful at heart, but not faithful all the way,” Usher said. “Even having a conversation with another woman, period, about matters of your relationship or emotions is, in my opinion, not being faithful.”
And when Oprah tried to clarify the matter of whether he’d actually slept with another woman, he finally answered, “When we were separated, yes, I was. We were not divorced.”
Usher admitted to having doubts about the marriage right before their 2007 wedding, making many of us on the outside shake our heads along with O. At the same time, the singer did sort of make Tameka out to be the bad guy. “I did get a great sense of the insecurities that were there and the fact that she wasn’t coping well with being in this position, being married to Usher, and all that came with that,” he said, later adding, “She made us enemies in a way that I could never understood.”
We have some really horrible news to start this week with. Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster‘s 11-year old son, Kyle Glover, has been declared brain dead by doctors in an Atlanta hospital after being involved in a jet-ski accident yesterday. Apparently, Kyle was sitting in an inner tube on Lake Lanier when he was struck on the head with a jet ski. It sounds completely surreal and we’re trying to wrap our heads around how that even happened? An investigation is also also currently underway with the Department of Natural Resources trying to piece how something like this went down. Robin Hill, the department’s spokesperson, has told TMZ that their Critical Incident Response Team is going to re-create the accident on the lake and, with the help of technology, will try to determine how fast the boats were going when Kyle got hit. Once they’ve concluded the investigation, they’ll hand over their report to the D.A., which will state whether or not charges should be filed, since the rangers team have been in contact with the driver of the jet ski.
Sadly, Kyle has not registered any brain activity since being admitted into the hospital. Even though Usher and Tameka have been going through such a nasty divorce, the singer chartered a plane for her so she could rush back, as she was out of town over the weekend. Kyle is still on life support, and the decision to whether keep him on or switch it off has not been brought up yet. We’re sending our sincere prayers to the family. We can’t even imagine what they’re going through.

Roughly six months after kicking off their epic custody battle (and almost three years after splitting up), Usher took the stand today to testify about his relationship with ex-wife Tameka Foster. You might be stunned to hear this, but apparently it’s ridiculous not good. “‘I’m gonna kick your a–. B— get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision in my house?'” Foster allegedly raged when the singer arrived at her property with his current girlfriend. According to Usher, Tameka “continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at her.” When the pair attempted to flee, “she threw a plate of food at the car.” Now, usually when we type ‘smh’ we aren’t actually shaking our heads, but you know what? There’s a first time for everything!
Of course, it could be worse. Or was, depending on who’s remembering the details correctly. Early this month, Tameka denied threatening Usher and his girlfriend by saying “I will kill you both,” though she did acknowledge,”I did probably, out of anger, say ‘I will f— you up’ and it’s not acceptable.” We didn’t think we could be more grossed out by this whole case, until we remembered that their sons Naviyd Ely and Usher V are probably witnessing this hottest of messes with their own baby eyes. What are you teaching your kids, people? Food is for eating, not for hurling in a jealous fury!

Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond had such a notoriously rocky relationship, the only surprising thing about their rumored custody battle is that it took over two years for them to come to a stand-off. Oh, and the fact that Tameka specifically cited Usher’s cancellation of her Saks Fifth Avenue card in her legal filings, according to TMZ. Our eyebrows lifted ever so slightly at that one.
More importantly, however, the court documents filed by the singer’s ex this weekend in Georgia requested full custody of their two sons, alleging that Usher failed to be an adequate parenting partner in a variety of ways, including getting Tameka’s approval before hiring nannies, denying her adequate vacation time with their boys and probably just existing in general. In case you forgot all the ups and downs (predominantly downs) of Usher’s two year marriage, let us refresh your memory as to why this almost inevitable custody battle should be a surprise to no one, especially not Usher:
- May 2007: Usher lets go of his mother Jonetta Patton from her role as his manager. Nothing too out of the ordinary, until…
- July 28, 2007: Usher and Tameka cancel their wedding the morning of the event amid rumors that Usher’s mother is against the marriage. To quote a very wise woman, something in the milk ain’t clean.
- August 3, 2007: Usher and Tameka tie the knot, for better or for worse.
- November 26, 2007: Usher Raymond V enters the world.
- December 10, 2008: Lil’ Naviyd Ely Raymond is born.
- February 2009: Tameka ends up in the hospital after medical complications following plastic surgery in Brazil. Not related to their marriage in any way, just … ugh.
- June 12, 2009: Usher files for divorce, indicating that the couple has been “continuously lived in a bona fide state of separation” since July 2008.
- July 2009: Tameka claims to be shocked by Usher’s move to file to divorce since they were “intimately together as husband and wife as recently as June 6.” Wow, things must have really gone south in those six days. Also, ugh.
- September 2009: Usher calls 911 to imply that Tameka allegedly keyed his car.
- March 2011: An alleged Usher sex tape co-starring Tameka surfaces, then quickly, mercifully re-submerges.
- November 2011: Tameka wants full custody of those kids!

TMZ are reporting that they’ve been offered a supposed sex tape featuring Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster. Oh.My.Gosh! Apparently, they were sent a short video and two photos, and TMZ says that they’re pretty certain the “performers” are Usher and Tameka.
Sources are saying — not admitting that the sex tape exists, of course — that if there is a video, it could have been taken when Usher had his car broken into in 2009. It was pretty ridiculous because he reportedly had over $ 1 million worth of booty stolen including electronics (a laptop, natch), jewelry and furs. We still don’t know why he was carrying so much stuff in his car, but that’s rotten luck. FYI: he’s had pretty bad car luck all around because while he was splitting with Tameka, he had to make a call to 911 because she supposedly keyed his ride! Question now is, will there be any takers for this sex tape, and it it really them? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Tameka Foster is reportedly in “stable condition” after suffering medical complications following plastic surgery in Brazil. Mrs. Usher apparently made the sketchy choice to get work done out of the country (there were no qualified doctors in Atlanta?), and her husband canceled his scheduled pre-Grammy performance at a party for Clive Davis to fly down to be by her side.
The family’s rep had little to say about the couple’s crisis, issuing a vague statement: “Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital. No further details will be released, and the family requests privacy at this difficult time.” [Photo: GettyImages]
We’re not in the business of spreading rumors, but we’ve heard through the grapevine that Usher‘s baby mama, Tameka Foster, may be joining the second season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Nothing has been confirmed, but Scandalist hopes that some beefing between Tameka and Nene (from season one) is on our reality show horizon. [Photo: Getty Images]
