We’re so glad she’s okay! Ellen DeGeneres had chest pains yesterday and 911 had to be called! The emergency occurred during a producers meeting at the Warner Bros compound, resulting in one of Ellen’s staff members calling for help. The Burbank Fire Department sent a team a little before noon. Ellen explained on her show that the pains started the night before saying, “… What happened was last night I was having chest pains so this morning paramedics came to look at me …”
Luckily, she’s fine and was seen walking without any assistance after the Fire Department left. The whole explanation she gave on her show was truly hilarious with her continuing with, “… The paramedics were strippers that I had called!…” Ellen tweeted a thankful message reassuring everyone she was okay, writing, “Thank you all for your concern. I wasn’t feeling great so I called the paramedics, but I’m fine. The mouth to mouth was totally unnecessary.” Humor really is the best medicine! We’re so happy to see her in top form after that scare.

Although one of Disney’s brightest lights, Demi Lovato has had anything but a fairy tale life over the past year. Struggles with bipolar and eating disorders landed the 19-year old in rehab last winter and threatened to totally derail her career. But like the skyscraper she sings about on her latest single, Demi rose above those challenges and returned to the stage better than ever! Yesterday the young star (and this month’s VH1 Posted Artist!) stopped by The Ellen Degeneres Show to talk about her struggles.
“I don’t know what to really call it but yeah, I’ve called it a breakdown, a meltdown,” she told the host. “I went from being at the highlight of my career…So many things were going great in my life and then all of the sudden my personal life just went down at crazy speeds.” But despite the awful comedown, Demi says that it was just the wake-up call she needed to seek professional help. “If I had never gone into the treatment … I don’t know if one, I’d even be sitting here today. Two, if I’d be alive today.” With her career soaring and her life seemingly on the path to success once again, Demi hopes that her experiences will serve as an example to her young fans who are going through problems of their own.
“There needs to be a role model out there and for the first time in my life I actually feel like one.” She warns young women to beware of “very very skinny” models that are so prevalent in the media. “It’s very unhealthy. There was nobody out there for me to look at and say, maybe this is unhealthy,” she admits. “So I want to be that for a 13-year-old girl at home deciding whether or not to eat dinner or an 18-year-old deciding whether or not to keep her breakfast down.” Demi’s new album Unbroken comes out at midnight tonight. Give it a listen, folks. This gal’s got something to say.
