Last week, Cissy Houston and other trustees of Whitney Houston’s estate filed a petition to change the structure of payments made to her soul heir, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. The document, obtained by Radar yesterday, seeks to make changes that would protect the 19-year-old from “undue influence.”
“Respondent has been the subject of significant media attention before, and especially after, the Testatrix’s death,” the papers read. “Respondent is a highly visible target for those who would exert undue influence over her inheritance and/or seek to benefit from Respondent’s resources and celebrity.”
So, what exactly are Bobbi Kristina’s family members afraid of? Could it be they’re taking their rumored disapproval of Nick Gordon, her boyfriend/”adopted brother”? The two did get into a car wreck together last week, just days after Nick tweeted a photo of himself driving with a gun in his hand. And then there’s dad, Bobby Brown, who recently checked into rehab for alcohol. But neither of those things seem to indicate they’re after Bobbi Kristina’s money. Maybe this is just a precautionary measure? Or — forgive our cynicism — a bit of drama stirred up for the sake of their Lifetime show, The Houston Family Chronicles? No, no one would go that far.
