They’ve been split for well over a year, but things haven’t settled much between Kris Humphries and the Kardashian Klan. His ex-wife Kim and her big sis Kourtney appeared on David Letterman last night to talk about a baby she’s having with a dude that’s not Kris, and to essentially discuss why he’s being a dick. So we imagine Kris probably switched over to Leno.
Kris has been complicating the legal actions to dissolve their marriage because he insists that the relationship was a sham and that Kim only married him to get a television special out of the deal. This sentiment is echoed by many detractors of the famous reality family, but Kourtney offered a particularly good comeback. “I think if she was going to do it for publicity, she’d pick someone that people knew,” she shot back to her haters. BOOM! Even Letterman seemed taken aback by the excellent point.
Mindy Kaling told David Lettermanlast night that one of the advantages of having a show named after you was that you can win all arguments with coworkers by pointing to the mug with your name on it. But what Letterman went on to prove was that there’s a potential drawback of having a show named after you: People assume you’re just like the main character. That’s presumably why he asked the star and creator of The Mindy Project if she ever drank herself into oblivion, the way her character on the show does.
“First, of all, even if I had I would never say that,” Kaling said. “Second of all, I went to a party school, I went to Dartmouth College. It’s a drinking college. I didn’t have parents who were liberal, like have a sip of wine at dinner. So I went from no alcohol to the only way to drink was to drink yourself into oblivion. … I kind of know one or the other, so it’s kind of like, every couple of years I have a really organized bender and then I’m out of it.”
“So you know what you’re doing — you weren’t sucked into addiction,” Letterman said. Read more…
Confusion. Despair. Rage. Bargaining. Explosions. Shouting and waving around a dog-eared copy of Us Weekly. More explosions. All of these are completely recognizable human emotions expressed by Bruce Willis in his Twi-Hard With A Vengence parody on Letterman last night. So recognizable, in fact, that we were willing to ignore the fact that jokes about the Robsten scandal are, um, over a month old at this point. Hey, at least it was more thought-out than Will Ferrell’s Trampire rant on Conan! Or at least that’s what we going through our minds before we heard the rest of Bruce’s appearance, and…hoo boy.
“I was invited on one of their shows. The Real Housewives of Ishobistos Country,” Willis joke-mumbled to Dave about visiting Budapest. “What they do is, they get two great-looking women to stand and face each other and smack the s— out of each other.” Whaaa? Letterman then forced everyone in the audience to give the Expendable 2 star a standing ovation for no apparent reason. You know what? Maybe some people are meant to live their best lives inside a Twilight parody. Everyone who’s obsessed with 50 Shades of Grey, you know exactly what we’re talking about!
Is Savages going to take the box office by storm? Only time will tell. But one of its stars, the bona fide fashionista, Blake Lively, is going to make her mark anyway, whether or not the film does well. We mean, c’mon, she has to give competition to the serious fierceness that is Salma Hayek. Salma plays the boss lady of a drug cartel who kidnaps Blake so she can control Ms. Lively’s two onscreen lovers — Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson. It’s a pretty big ask, so Blake’s made sure her sartorial game is way up for the promotional rounds. It’s all about the mileage, baby!
She’s doing pretty swell, so far. Blake was on the Late Show With David Letterman yesterday and arrived looking elegant, yet young in the outfit that you see on the left. We love the girly Jenny Packham shell dress, especially when it’s been paired with tasteful Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and those awesome silver Christian Louboutin pumps. The actress made a quick change for the show, keeping the hair, makeup and shoes but slipped into a white satin Marchesa dress with jeweled auctions that you see on the right. We like it, but we’re not too sure of the fit because that sort of fabric and color adds bumps where bumps don’t even exist. But maybe it’s just the angle? In the middle, we have Blake from the Savages premiere at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood, Californaa, the day before yesterday. This is serious, shut-the-hell-up glamour, and Ms. Lively has freakin’ nailed it. How is she pulling off this Zuhair Murad couture gown? It’s like an optical illusion, but we love it. Blake teamed the gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry again, and old Hollywood hair and makeup. The red lips and nails, and long, wavy, side-parted hair are spot-on. We’re looking forward to what else she pulls out of the closest for the rest of the promotions.
It’s always hard when a prepubescent pop star becomes an adult, isn’t it? On the one hand, how could David Letterman be that offended by Justin Bieber‘s new tattoo last night when the Biebs has been getting up to various scandals for at least a year now? “Oh god, how many do you have?” Letterman moaned at the sight of Justin’s new “Believe” tattoo. “Grandpas!” Justin just laughed. On the other hand, we understand. We all want to feel like Justin is still that same cherub who sang, “Baby, Baby, Baby.” Just look at those little tiny bangs! Look at them!
But if the details of Bieber’s increasingly adult life are to be believed, at 18 Justin is deep into Grown Man Territory. Hey, half of you should be really happy about this! The older Justin gets, the less creepy it is for us to have his autographed photo in our cubicle. We mean…in your cubicle. Need more evidence that the only thing still baby-like about Justin is that face? Check out our timeline of Justin Bieber’s scandals below, and weep: Read more…
Lea Michele has been popping up on best-dressed lists a lot, now that she’s managed to tone down that bout of super-charged “I am sexy” vibe she was channeling up until recently. We’re choosing to forget moments like Lea’s SAG awards vamp-romp and now focusing on moments like these — where she triumphs not only once, but twice in one day. The Glee actress arrived for a taping for The Late Show With Dave Letterman in New York City in the outfit you see on the left. Basically, she’s that girl you see prancing around with the best legs and hair ever, looking runway ready, but will say something like, “This old thing?” when asked about her outfit. But we digress. The ensemble worn to the set consists of that tiny, flirtatious Jenni Kayne skirt, Zadig & Voltaire jacket and Jimmy Choo booties.
Once inside, Lea pumped up the sex appeal for the actual show, but in the right way. We love that white Amen dress, especially with the Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Also shows just how tiny she is! Perfect hair, perfect makeup and perfect styling. Take a bow, Ms. Lea Michele.
Oh, how we love this girl. When faced with the pressure of a Letterman interview last night, on top of the impending release of The Hunger Gamesand what has to be months and months of pent-up jitters, Jennifer Lawrence did exactly what we would have done in the same situation: girl lost her damn mind. “I’m a troll,” the Winter’s Bone actress declared nervously when Dave asked about watching herself on screen. She then launched into an amazing stream of word vomit: “I hate myself. Don’t go see the movie because I’m a troll. I think the movie is great but their biggest mistake was me.” Celebrities! They’re just like us: unable to contain their deep-seated self-loathing! This isn’t the first time Lawrence has gone beyond humble and plunged into cringe-worthy in a moment of panic. In fact, check out some of her most self-deprecating quotes from the ongoing Hunger Games onslaught…
“I think I’m as ready as I can be, which is not that ready,” Jennifer told the Montreal Gazette. “I’m kind of clueless about it all.”
You would think that would three wardrobe changes in the course of one evening, something would fall through the cracks. Not so with Jennifer Lawrence and her team of stylists. The actress really made The Hunger Games promotional rounds in New York yesterday and her trio of outfits have us doing a slow clap. J.Law started the evening heading to a taping of The Late Show With David Letterman, wearing the outfit on the left. You can’t fault the black Raoul dress with the diamond neckline, especially when paired with those awesome Jimmy Choo heels. She ended up changing the dress for the show and left wearing it, so we got a good luck. It’s the gorgeous black and dull gold panelled Prabal Gurung dress in the middle, with the same Choos. Remember Jennifer’s gold The Hunger Games world premiere dress? That was Prabal Gurung too.
Lastly, Jennifer had to get to a couple of different stops which included a cast signing and a screening of THG hosted by The Cinema Society and Calvin Klein. She, of course, wore Calvin Klein for it — but check out that dress (on the right.) That’s quick a sexy, plunging neckline, but the rest of it so elegant. The silk, pleated forest green cocktail number is a total hit with us. But is it with you? We want to know whether you like the sartorial direction in which Jennifer is heading. We have a poll with all three dresses itemized. Which one is a keeper?
Why don’t we love Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s outfit here? The actress was at a taping for The Late Show With David Letterman last night and wore two different outfits as a nod to her double role playing twins Siobhan and Bridget on her show, Ringer. This was the first outfit, and try not to go all Buffy on us, but we don’t love it. It’s the cut of the skirt combined with the fabric that makes it way too prom for us. We do love the shoes and her cute little bolero. Now let’s move on to her second outfit. Read more…
Jennifer Lopez has sunglasses on at night. Boyfriend Casper Smart is also wearing shades … because he’s a diva in training? Because you can only date J.Lo if you support her sartorial choices? Because he’s cool by association now? Whatever the reasons are, the sexy twosome made their way to Cipriani’s in New York after Jennifer made an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman, where she responded to questions about her ex, Marc Anthony, FYI.
When asked what it was like working with Anthony on their show, Q’Viva! The Chosen, she said, “You know, its fun because we know each other so well, but it has its moments. The same things that … didn’t really work sometimes come up. You’re talking and you don’t agree on something and you’re like ‘Oh, be quiet!’ … You’ll see it on the show a little bit!” This is also what we’d like to call her “genteel diva” outfit. It’s all shades of fawn and looks very expensive. Check after the jump for a better look at it, and of Casper, of course. Read more…
