We’re about halfway through Day 2 of of Comic-Con 2012, but it already feels like we’ve had a week’s worth of news. From the Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 panel yesterday (squee!) to the release of the new trailer for Oz: The Great & Powerful to Dawn of the Con and our chat with Rob Zombie, it’s been a whirlwind experience already. While you should be following us at @vh1celebrity to keep up with all the great stuff that our own Sabrina Rojas-Weiss and Kate Spencer are spotting in the huge hallways of the convention center, here’s a few examples of the star wattage —Michelle Williams! Taylor Lautner! The (Former) Governator!—that’s descended upon San Diego this weekend.
Kristen Stewart just can’t take a compliment — and it’s really, really cute. The actress pretended to hide under the table at the Breaking Dawn press conference when co-star and close friend Taylor Lautner complimented her transformation as Bella Swan. As if that wasn’t enough, she then mimed a shoveling action for a bit as Taylor praised her work. “Kristen has done such a good job over this whole franchise,” he said, as she hid her face. As the audience laughed, Robert Pattinson moved his head at lightening speed to figure out what was so funny.
Taylor continued: “She’s always been clumsy, awkward, and relatable,” he said of her portrayal of the pre-vampire Bella Swan. “And now she’s all of a sudden transformed herself into this sleek, sexy, vampire.” Check out Rob’s reaction when Taylor drops that line — his look of love is to die for.
If you haven’t been checking out the VH1 Twitter account, you should really take a look now. Our very own and very fabulous Kate Spencer and Sabrina Rojas Weiss are actually at Comic-Con and tweeting live updates and behind-the-scenes looks, which is totally awesome. And yesterday was all about — you, guesses it — Breaking Dawn, Part 2. We just posted a selection of the 10 best quotes from yesterday’s conference, which hilariously, had Kristen Stewart telling Robert Pattinson to jokingly, “Shut the f— up!” But apart from hearing what they said, we knew you would want a peek at the entire cast as well, and see how they interacted through the panel. As expected, they were amazing. The very dishy new dad Jackson Rathbone was there, not showing a hint of sleep deprivation. Ashley Greene was as lovely as ever in head-to-toe Michael Kors, while Kristen rocked it in a Fluxus tee, a BCBGMAXAZRIA skirt and Barbara Bui sneakers. The men — Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz, Robert and Taylor Lautner — looked smokin’. Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser looked smart-smarts and smart-casual, respectively. And little Mackenize Foy stole the show with that smile of hers. Now we’re going to stop talking and let you have at the gallery so you can see it all for yourself.
Christmas has come early this year, and we’re obviously on the good list. Not only did we get a brand new teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, last week, but now, we’ve also some fantastic stills to gawk at. Of course, these happen to be the same ones that Entertainment Weekly got the exclusive on a week earlier, but now that we have our own, we can walk you through them in the gallery below. We’re already in love with the photograph you see above, of the family Cullen (Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Foy and Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Little Renesmee features quite a bit in these new photographs. There’s also a lovely one of her sharing a lighthearted moment with Jacob, and one incredibly intense one with her mother, Bella. Kristen makes for a really hot vampire, FYI. More importantly, we get our first real look at the covens. There’s one with Renesmee talking to Senna (Tracey Heggins) and Zafrina (Judith Shekoni) of the Amazon tribes, as well as one of Kate (Casey Labow) and Tanya (Myanna Buring) of the Denali coven. There’s even one of Eleazar (Christian Camargo) and Carmen (Mia Maestro.) You won’t stop giggling when you see the still of the famous arm wrestling scene between Emmett (Kellan Lutz) and Bella, as well. Rounding up the lot is a pretty menacing one of the Volturi with Jane (Dakota Fanning) and Alec (Cameron Bright) as they arrive in Forks. Now, enough talking, and more looking. To the gallery!
Oh, Jeebus! Even though we thought that the 10 second clip of the Breaking Dawn, Part 2 trailer yesterday was the shiznit, the preview doesn’t hold a candle to the full video. What we mainly saw yesterday was a family scene involving Rosalie, Edward and Bella with Renesmee. We also saw Robert Pattinson, as Edward voices his concerns about the brewing conflict, saying, “The Volturi think that Renesmee’s an immortal child.” Kristen Stewart as the awesome vampire Bella gets worked up, answering, “She was born not bitten! She grows every single day.” We see Alice dropping a glass vase as she has a vision of the Volturi coming for them, gliding over snow, till Aro flips back his dark hood, and we realize it’s ON.
The full extended trailer has these bits, but SO much more. It opens with the voice-over we’ve heard before, in the first Breaking Dawn, Part 2 trailer, where Bella says, “After 18 years of being utterly ordinary, I finally found that I could shine.” There are also shots we’ve seen before of the ring, Edward saying, “So beautiful … We’re the same temperature now”, and Taylor Lautner as Jacob saying, “I didn’t expect you to seem so … you.” But earlier, where we saw Bella running through the woods, she’s now leaping spectacularly saying, “I was born to be a vampire.” She’s looking gorgeous and confident, walking towards Jacob as he calls her normal.
More important, we see the machinations of the plot coming together with Maggie Grace as Irina, going up to Aro and snitching, “I have to report a crime. The Cullens, they’ve done something terrible,” with a deadly-looking Aro responding, “Oh, my.” Edward starts putting the plan together, thinking, “If enough people knew the truth maybe we could convince the Volturi would listen.” He goes to the covens saying, “My family is in danger, I need your help,” and they respond, pledging allegiance to the Cullens. There are lots of cool shots interspersed between all the dialogue and it all ends with panoramic pre-battle scenes and a truly spectacular water scene that we can’t spoil for you. It’s beyond epic. This movie needs to come out now. We can’t take it any longer!
Now, there’s a second teaser trailer out tomorrow, because it’s Edward’s 111th birthday. Summit kinda knew we couldn’t wait to see it, so what they’ve done is released a 10 second preview today, which is what you’re watching in the video above. And they’ve packed enough in this snippet to get us totally juiced! It starts with Bella and Edward tenderly holding Renesmee and handing her over to Rosalie. Edward then voices, “The Volturi think that Renesmee’s an immortal child.” Vampire Bella responds with, “She was born not bitten! She grows every single day.” Cut to a dramatic shot of Alice dropping a glass vase and gasping, “The Volturi! They’re coming for us.” The clip ends with the Volturi stalking towards Bella and Edward against a snowy backdrop, Aro menacingly flipping back his dark hood. Ai yi yi! We’re in quite a state. You will be too, once you watch it. We can’t wait to see the full trailer tomorrow.
Kristen Stewart has given you so much over the years: mad sneaker game, someone to vicariously kiss Robert Pattinson through, an excellent Snow White movie (we’re assuming)(based on the trailers). Now she’s even sacrificed the integrity of her foot to your insatiable thirst for Breaking Dawn: Part 2. When will it be enough? “Well, I’m starting a promotional tour, so I figured I needed to hurt myself,” Kristen joked after hobbling out for her interview on Jimmy Kimmel last night. “I promise you it’s not a ploy to wear flats.” We would never dream of it. Kristen allegedly sustained her injury while doing reshoots for the last vamp movie. “I stepped on a nail,” she explained. “Lucky me!” Man, is the fact that KStew would bleed for your love of Twilight finally enough? If not, is that Cosby sweater? Personally, that sweater is satisfying fashion needs we didn’t even know we had.
Even though it probably required a tetanus shot or two, it seems like the third round of reshoots was the cast’s last…meaning the series is truly over for Kristen. “Vampire Bella: goodbye!” Stewart laughed. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, the woman flew from L.A. to New York after filming Kimmel just to give you the fierceness that was her Balenciaga color-block dress at the Met Gala last night. None of us are worthy. Not one of us.
Love comes comes in many varieties. For some like Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, it’s somewhat muted, quiet and shy, while for others like Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, it’s a bit more obvious for all the world to see. But both are equally adorable!
RPattz and KStew were snapped departing Vancouver airport today after wrapping up re-shoots for Breaking Dawn Part 2. The two took looked their classic, comfy casual selves in dark sweats, sunglasses and bored-with-the-paps facial expressions. Kristen Stewart had on a pair of her trademark sneakers, which were perfect foot attire for slipping the hell away from photographers as fast as possible!
Andrew Garfield and his girlfriend/The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man co-star Emma Stone took a slightly different approach as they were out strolling in NYC’s West Village this afternoon. They noticed the photographers and stared right back at them, pointing and laughing! From the looks on their faces, it seems like they’re saying, “Thiiiiis guyyyyy.” Check out the gallery below for more young couple cuteness!
So, we just got these two new stills from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and while we don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth — thanks, Summit! — it’s really kind of hard to be excited about them. Except in theory. In theory, they are part of the slow build toward the movie’s release that will inevitably accelerate come fall, with piles and piles of clips and stills and interviews. And really, we like seeing Bella and Edward together as happy — if slightly apprehensive? — vampires. And Jacob looking, well, like Jacob. Put these photos next to The Feathers. And next to all of the images we’ve seen and screengrabbed and analyzed from the teaser trailer. This, like, redefines tease.
Actually, I think I know what’s going on here. Wild conjecture alert. The Twilight publicity team were just planning to take a nice breather before their big onslaught, but then they too heard all about Robert Pattinson’s and Kristen Stewart’s inadvertent competition at Cannes, and they thought, “Let’s just remind those folks of the Twilight franchise’s indie roots.” And then in the summer, they’ll let us see some pics that will remind us that Part 2 becomes “X-Men: Vampire Faceoff.” But seriously, we need some Renesmee photos, please. And maybe that arm-wrestling scene Kellan Lutz reminded us about. Damn. November is really far away.
This clip starts with Bella’s voice stating, “After eighteen years of being utterly ordinary, I finally found that I could shine.” It then leads to a scene that we already saw in the first teaser trailer. It’s where Jacob says, “I didn’t expect you to seem so … you.” We then get to see a little more of Kristen Stewart‘s face in the following scene — which is also in the first teaser trailer — where Robert Pattinson tells her, “We’re the same temperature now” with the addition of him saying, “So beautiful” in this clip. What are the real differences between the two then, you ask? We get to see a shot of Bella’s ruby red eyes in this trailer, that’s what! And right in the end, we see a very ominous shot of her hunting a deer. It’s the little things, guys, that make tiny, repetitive clips worth it.
