Taylor Lautner Understands Why You Might Still Be Asking About This Whole Imprinting Thing

Even the most loyal of Twi-hards remembers probably did a double take when they read about Jacob’s packmate Quil imprinting on a 2-year-old. And then we squirmed even more when it hit closer to home and Jacob seemed to forget his romantic love for Bella in favor of an attachment to her newborn baby, Renesmee. We can’t imagine what it was like for Taylor Lautner. Only so much of the werewolf phenomenon can be taken care of by montages. In the end, he feels like he grasped the concept enough to convey his protective, non-icky attachment to the rapidly growing vampire-human girl.

“They did such a good job with that relationship, and it’s such a big part of the movie, and I had to fully understand it,” Taylor told VH1′s Kate Spencer. “It was helpful because we had Stephenie Meyer on set for that movie. I think it comes across great. I think Jacob fans will be happy with that relationship onscreen.”

But really, is Taylor tired of people asking about imprinting — and of co-stars (*cough* Robert Pattinson) teasing him about it?

Dispatch From Twilight Tent City: Campers Answer Five Final Questions About The Fandom

Sunday marked the third time I’ve visited a Twilight tent city, and it was once again filled with wonderful interactions with fans. I am confident of one thing: the fans that camp out for days waiting to score a coveted spot along the premiere red carpet get a bad rap. Sure, they’ve got obsessive tent decorations and flair-filled outfits, but so what? Tent City is the Twilight fandom’s Mardi Gras, and it’s a safe space to let your Twi-freak flag fly.

“This is the only place I’d ever dare wear this t-shirt,” one fan told me, pointing at the picture of Robert Cullen (um, that’s a typo – obviously – but I’m keeping it in!) that spread across her torso. It’s not like the bulk of the fans camped out this weekend head to their office jobs in their “Imprint Me, Jacob” hoodies and curl up to sleep in Twilight sheets each night. But they let it all hang out at Tent City, and enjoy every second of it (and I totally enjoyed the two hours I spent there). It’s a weekend of friendship, bonding, celebration and good ol’ fashion dorking out over a thing you really love. And I am INTO it.

I spoke with a bunch of the fans and asked them five final questions about their Twilight experience:

  • What’s the best part about being a Twilight fan?
  • What’s the worst part about being a Twilight fan?
  • What’s the biggest misconception about Twilight fans?
  • What part of the Twilight fan stereotype is actually true?
  • What will you miss most about Twilight?

Their answers are below. These are women from around the world (Australia, Mexico, Colombia, Canada and the US) with jobs, lives, families, friends…and a fandom. It was a honor to meet them and sit in their camping chairs. Until next time.

15 Best-Dressed At Breaking Dawn – Part 2: Robert, Kristen, Kellan Lutz, Bella Thorne And Co.

15 Best-Dressed At Twilight, Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere
We already know that Kristen Stewart is a stone cold fox in Zuhair Murad at the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere in L.A. tonight. But there’s a lot more best-dressed action going on, on the black carpet as well. Kristen’s boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, for instance, is pulling off a bottle green Gucci suit. We kid you not. Also wearing the shade is a dark haired Dakota Fanning in an emerald Elie Saab, that’s lovely on her. Bella Thorne is in the same color too, wearing a mullet dress with a ruffled hem, paired with a black belt and pumps. Saoirse Ronan is ethereal in a white Simone Rocha dress and brogues, and the frock has this interesting broderie anglaise-esque hem on it. Christian Serratos is red-hot in a fire engine Zac Posen gown, YSL shoes, Judith Leiber clutch and Kisshy jewelry and is totally channeling an old Hollywood screen siren. Kiernan Shipka is chic in a navy frock with raspberry pumps and we want the whole damn thing. As we always do because she has the best stylist in the whole world who we want to be friends with. But  … who really stole the show is Amadou Ly — Henri from the French coven — who came attired in full tribal gear. A nod to his Senegalese heritage? Either way, we love it! Check out all our picks in the gallery below and tell us if you agree!

Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson In The 5 Breaking Dawn Red-Carpet Pics We Were Afraid To Hope For

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson at the Breaking Dawn - Part 2 premiere

Some of you kept the faith all summer long, and we should have listened to you. Back when all that stuff that we won’t talk about happened between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the rest of us feared that we’d never get to see what we saw tonight: Robsten — and for old time’s sake, we’d like to call them Robsten again — looking as cozy as ever together on the red carpet for the fifth and final Twilight premiere. It’s not the first time we’ve seen them back together, but it certainly was a momentous occasion. And we’re extra pleased that Kristen’s nude Zuhair Murad gown nicely complemented Rob’s green Gucci suit on the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 black carpet. Enough talking, just enjoy these photos that the pessimists among us feared would never happen.

Kiernan Shipka, Amandla Stenberg Turn Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere Into A Tween Showdown

Kiernan Shipka, Amandla Stenberg, Mackenzie Foy at the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere

If you think a lady needs to be able to vote or buy alcohol in order to kill it on the red carpet, you are of course mistaken. While there’s no doubt that Kristen Stewart slayed at tonight’s Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere, what with her auburn tendrils and nude gown, the girls who really brought the fashion heat were all years away from being able to legally operate a motor vehicle. For our money, Hunger GamesAmandla Stenberg was the strongest contender among the middle school set, pairing her florescent patterned dress with jelly sandals. Oh, how those sandals bring us back. Breaking Dawn‘s Mackenzie Foy and Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka also looked equally put together and adorable. So is the ultimate red carpet secret having a mom to fix your hair and rub dirt off your face before you leave the house? We’re starting to suspect the answer is…yes.

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Premiere Surprises: Mayim Bialik, Stevie Nicks And 10 Other Random Stars

Mayim Bialik, Shar Jackson and Stevie Nicks were a few of the random celebs at the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere.

We fully admit, after seeing what Kristen Stewart will wear, our second favorite part of the Twilight red carpet premieres has always been seeing which completely left-field celebrity shows up to declare their fandom. It would be hard to match that time 50 Cent showed up, but there were some good random guests at the premiere of Breaking Dawn – Part 2. We never caught the names of the three basketball players who talked to the Yahoo live stream hosts (even the hosts just said they were two Lakers players and a Clipper), and we’re still waiting on pics of them. But in the meantime, we present to you the other awesome non-castmembers who graced the black carpet — from Hunger Games stars (Fox Face and Rue!) to Stevie Nicks and Shar Jackson, it was an impressive collection. Mayim Bialik, we will cast you in our own Twilight film one day, we promise.

Kristen Stewart In Zuhair Murad At Twilight Breaking Dawn 2 Premiere

Kristen Stewart didn’t wear Balenciaga to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 world premiere tonight, as we thought she might. Instead she wore … *drumroll* … Zuhair Murad! That’s what we heard on the live stream of the premiere as the details were sought out straight from her stylist, who also revealed that La Stewart had Jimmy Choos on. Good decision, stylist! Kristen wore a gorgeous Murad design at  the On The Road Toronto premiere as well, two months ago, so perhaps he’s turning out to be her big event go-to glamour guy. He really is, guys, because she looks like a total knockout. The dull gold and taupe dress was delicate and strapless, and the bodice of it was corset-like and gathered around her waist with a thin belt, before flowing out gently in lace panels. Her side-swept wavy hair also added to the vintage feel and we have to say, her makeup is ace, especially with that deep rose lipstick. This one is worthy of a slow clap. Do you agree? We think this is a fantastic look on her!

Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere Worst Dressed

If the end of the Twilight franchise doesn’t bring tears to your eyes, might we suggest checking out Elle Fanning‘s platform sandals at tonight’s Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere red carpet? What. Are. Those. Monstrosities. Elle seems to be totally thrilled with her kicks, but they scream Spice Girls knock-offs to us. Fivel Stewart also went bold tonight, pairing a dark lip with a wispy First Communion lampshade dress of some kind. If Fivel wanted us to speculate whether she’s pregnant, mission accomplished! We’re assuming it’s just the dress though!

Actress Judi Shekoni didn’t far much better with her odd bi-level frock, and Alexandra Patsavas opted for a look that was more Hey Arnold! than high fashion. Obviously there were plenty of stunners on tonight’s black carpet, but unfortunately there were just as many near misses. If only Nikki Reed‘s gown didn’t have the weird boob detailing! If only someone had hemmed Willow Shields dress or fixed her hair! If only 90210‘s Trevor Donovan had remembered to change his pants or shirt or shoes! As for AJ Michalka, Mayim Bialik, Stephanie Meyer and Jacqueline Emerson…well, we’ll let you see for yourself.

A Twilight Remake? Kellan Lutz Leaves His Schedule Open

As we brace ourselves to see good ole Emmett Cullen grace our screens for the last time in the foreseeable future, arm-wrestling with Bella in Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Kellan Lutz isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to the franchise. This is, of course, after a bit of encouragement from our own Kate Spencer. She asked the beefy blond what she’d asked Robert Pattinson earlier — whether he thought about his kids seeing the Twilight franchise one day — and his answer was both delightful and mind blowing.

“I’m excited to have my grandkids laugh at my funny one-liners. It’ll make me crack up,” he said. “It would be really special to hopefully have some boys dress as Emmett for Halloween.”

Apparently not one to hold classics too sacred, Kellan also suggested a different future for himself and the Twilight fandom: “I just wonder if they’ll ever remake it,” he said. “They remade Star Wars. They could remake this, and maybe I’ll play Dr. Carlisle. Why not? It’s been such a big part of my life, I’d love to. I’d definitely come back.”
