Hunger Games, Bridesmaids Crush Breaking Dawn In MTV Movie Awards Nods

Bridesmaids, Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 Nominated For MTV Movie Awards

Is this the dawn of a new era? The 2012 MTV Movie Awards nominations were announced today, and we’re not sure whether to be surprised about them: The Hunger Games and Bridesmaids lead the pack, with eight nominations apiece; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and 21 Jumpstreet follow with six nods each; and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is way down on the list with only two nominations. After so many years of Twilight mania ruling the show, does this mark the end of an era? Maybe. But it’s also pretty obviously the result of the nominees being chosen entirely by a panel of actors, producers and other insiders rather than by fans as it was last year, when Eclipse lead the pack with eight nods.

Of course, Twi-hards should be relieved to see Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in their time-honored slot among the Best Kiss nominees. As we predicted, they’ll be going liplock-to-liplock with Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence — along with Crazy, Stupid, Love’s Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, Deathly Hallows’ Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, and The Vow’s Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. When VH1 News caught up with Hutcherson last month, he didn’t think he had too much of a chance to beat Robsten.

New Breaking Dawn, Part 2 Stills Remind Us: November Is A Long Way Off

So, we just got these two new stills from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and while we don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth — thanks, Summit! — it’s really kind of hard to be excited about them. Except in theory. In theory, they are part of the slow build toward the movie’s release that will inevitably accelerate come fall, with piles and piles of clips and stills and interviews. And really, we like seeing Bella and Edward together as happy — if slightly apprehensive? — vampires. And Jacob looking, well, like Jacob. Put these photos next to The Feathers. And next to all of the images we’ve seen and screengrabbed and analyzed from the teaser trailer. This, like, redefines tease.

Actually, I think I know what’s going on here. Wild conjecture alert. The Twilight publicity team were just planning to take a nice breather before their big onslaught, but then they too heard all about Robert Pattinson’s and Kristen Stewart’s inadvertent competition at Cannes, and they thought, “Let’s just remind those folks of the Twilight franchise’s indie roots.” And then in the summer, they’ll let us see some pics that will remind us that Part 2 becomes “X-Men: Vampire Faceoff.” But seriously, we need some Renesmee photos, please. And maybe that arm-wrestling scene Kellan Lutz reminded us about. Damn. November is really far away.

Kristen Stewart Fans Tell Us Why #KStewRules On Her Birthday

Every time we post anything on Kristen Stewart, we are completely blown away by the response from fans. There are few stars out there who elicit so much unconditional love. So, on her 22nd birthday, we decided that a simple photo gallery wasn’t enough to celebrate our Bella/Joan/Snow. We asked you to tell us on Twitter why #KStewRules. And the answers made us really, really hope this list makes it to Kristen somehow, and really, really wish there’d be a camera handy at the time. Because she is pretty fun to watch when she’s showered with compliments.

Many of you shared similar thoughts about her independent streak: “#Kstewrules bc love or hate her, she is an original who dares to be herself in a world of manufactured celebs in artificial,” @ALotMoreofMagic said. And @JessieDior wrote, “#kstewrules because she’s independent, knows what she wants, doesn’t pretend to be anything else and is so genuine! We love her.”

A lot of you were most proud of the example she sets. “#KStewRules because she taught me that It’s okay not to be okay,” read one of 11 tweets from @thisbigreeneyes. @pikixina called her “Gaga for Twilight’s fans, she motivates you to be yourself no matter what the people will say.”

Of course, her badassery earned comments like, “#KStewRules because she wants to play the superhero, not the superhero’s girlfriend. AND SHE IS. #SWATH,” from @MyCleverAlias. And her unique fashion sense was another fave: “#KStewRules because she kicks off her high heels on the RC and puts on converse <3,” wrote @steje92.

Because we know Kristen wouldn’t want to leave anyone out, we’re going to share all of the tweets we got with the hashtag since Friday (in reverse chronological order): Read more…

Could Hunger Games Could Dethrone Robsten For Best Kiss? Josh Hutcherson Weighs In

We’re still enjoying this little breather in between awards season madness and summer blockbusters, but our own Kate Spencer already has the MTV Movie Awards on her mind — specifically, the Best Kiss Golden Popcorn, which has been dominated by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson for three years now. When she got a minute with Hunger Games cutie Josh Hutcherson at the NewNowNext Awards, she gave him the toughest of tough questions: Will Katniss and Peeta’s cave kiss rival any of Bella and Edward’s from Breaking Dawn – Part 1?

“I don’t know, they had a great kiss,” he admitted. “Theirs was so passionate. Ours was like, I was on my deathbed, wasn’t very sexy. I don’t know, we’ll see. Maybe. I’d be so lucky. One can only hope.”

Oh Deer, The Extended Breaking Dawn Teaser Trailer Is Here!

As if The Hunger Games weren’t amazing enough, we got a sneak peek at Breaking Dawn – Part 2in the previews beforehand (watch it above!), in which Bella is finally an ass-kicking, vegetarian vampire. And since we’re such Twilight geeks around here, we’re gonna give you our thoughts on the 90 seconds of goodness.

1. We love vampire Bella, and we love her in blue. We’re desperate to see her actually annihilate something, and while we didn’t quite get a serious smack-down in the trailer, we drooled while watching her stalk that deer. Oh, Volturi, we look forward to your demise at the hands of our dear Bella Swan Cullen.

2. Is it just us, or does Edward’s voice sound extra, uh, turned on by vampire Bella? It’s got a growl to it that was more contained when Bella was human. And while we loved the honeymoon love scenes in Breaking Dawn: Part 1, we’re wayyyyy more excited about the vamp-on-vamp action that awaits us in this flick. Yes, we’re pervs, and we suspect some of you are too. Bring on the cabin in the woods!

3. Well hello there, Jacob. What a saunter you have! Taylor Lautner‘s all man these days and yeah, we’re into it. So what?

What we want for the next teaser trailer: More action, please! We finally get to see Bella’s powers at work in this film, so come on, give us the goods! Battle scenes would be much appreciated. And we’re desperate to see Edward and Bella as parents with a wee Renesmee under their wings. Sigh. How long is it til November?

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Teaser Trailer Is Driving Us Nuts

We KNOW it’s called a teaser trailer for a reason, OK. We get it. But these 15 seconds teasing the teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 have driven us in a bit of tizzy as we wait for the full teaser to run before The Hunger Games this Friday. We’re worried about what this is going to do for our sanity. Let’s see what we have in here. A vampiric figure bolting through the forest, who we know is Bella (Kristen Stewart, FTW!), but we can’t see her face. We go Taylor Lautner looking as hot as ever, saying, “I didn’t expect you to seem so … you.” We have a ring shot which we all love, right? And we got Edward (Robert Pattinson, yea-aah!) looking tenderly at Bella’s face — which they don’t show —and saying, “We’re the same temperature now.” Yes, it’s a teaser … but they’re taking the teasing a little too seriously. Because we need more!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Trailer To Debut With The Hunger Games

A little vampire romance with your dystopian battle royale? A little bloodlust in your…well, your bloodlust? Movie makers know that supernatural teens and futuristic death tournaments go together like peanut butter and chocolate, which is why they’re debuting the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 teaser trailer before the Hunger Games when HG hits theaters in a few weeks. We know. It might almost be too much excellence in one sitting. Remember how psyched you were just to see the Hunger Games trailer? Now add a full-length movie, plus vamps. Thank goodness neither of them are in 3D, or you’d just hear brains exploding like delicious popcorn come March 23.

Summit Entertainment reportedly plans to releases a teaser clip of the Twilight trailer on March 20, which makes it a teaser of a teaser. How much teasing can one fan girl or boy take? The full teaser trailer will then be available for download to the public starting March 26. In our opinion, this has to be the first ticket in a long time that will be actually worth the $12.50, and that is not even counting all the snacks we’re planning to buy. Let’s be real, though: you guys didn’t really need another reason to see Hunger Games, did you? We mean, not after getting a sneak peek of how Lenny Kravitz is going to kill it, right?
