Meet Rila Fukushima: The Model Who Would Be Robin To Wolverine’s Batman

Rila Fukushima

Rila Fukushima remembers the day she crossed over from full-time model into the acting world. It was her final audition with Hugh Jackman, after years of pursuing the part of Yukio in The Wolverine, but something big was in her way: “The Gay Pride Parade was happening on Fifth Avenue, and I needed to cross to get to the audition place. There were so many people!” Fukushima recalled when VH1 asked her how she got her start.

Hugh Jackman’s Gangnam Style Makes Our Day!

Hugh Jackman, Psy, Pose Gangnam Style

We can’t help but trip over Psy‘s Gangnam Style dancing, even though we physically trip over our two left feet while trying to attempt it. Then we saw Britney Spears with Psy on The Ellen Degeneres Show and couldn’t stop squeeing because it was so hilarious, even though Ellen out-danced Brit-Brit. Then, something came up that blew the whole episode out of the water. Remember Hugh Jackman‘s first official image from The Wolverine? It’s pretty much imprinted in our brains and it would take something pretty spectacular to replace it. Psy himself, just tweeted that very spectacular thing that has edged itself in as the very awesome replacement. See it above? It’s just pure genius — Psy along with Hugh, both in character as Wolverine — with the claws, natch — posing Gangnam Style! Psy sounded pretty stoked about the photo op, writing, “Had a great time with RealHughJackman #GangnamStyleWolverine~!!! lol” We were wondering how the hell Psy managed to get the picture, and Hugh’s twitter explained the story. His latest tweet reads, “Slicing gangnam style!!!! Great to meet psy_oppa who visited set yesterday.” He attached the photograph below. Mystery solved! Looks like Psy really dressed up for the meet-and-great. We would too!

The First Official Image Of Hugh Jackman In The Wolverine Emerges

Hugh Jackman First Official Photo Of "The Wolverine"

This couldn’t have come at a better time. We’ve become so used to seeing Hugh Jackman looking gaunt and, well, miserable, in Les Miserables that we almost forgot how kickass he could be in that role we love to see him in — Wolverine! We’re all going to get a serious fix when his upcoming film, the James Mangold-directed,  The Wolverine releases next year in July. It’s going to be the sixth installment in the X-Men series, as well as a stand-alone sequel to the 2009 movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and we can’t wait to watch it! Luckily, the kind folk at Twentieth Century Fox have released the first official of Hugh as ‘The Wolverine’ on their Facebook page and he looks unbelievably ripped! Very different from the pictures we saw of him on-set last month, right? Scraggly beard and hair gone! The movie’s IMDB page says that, “Wolverine travels to Japan to train with a samurai warrior” so you know the action sequences are going to be unreal. How does one even get abs like that? Says the woman digging into a tub of ice-cream as she types.

Based On These Hugh Jackman Photos, It Looks Wolverine Just Got Rebooted As A Mole Person

Hugh Jackman On The Wolverine Set

Jeez, Wolverine. Just because you have super healing powers and an indestructible adamantium skeleton doesn’t mean you don’t have to wash your coat. You do! That goes double for your face coat! A filthy-looking Hugh Jackman appeared on the set of The Wolverine today, and apparently things have not been going well for Wolvie in his X-Men Origins: Wolverine prequel. According to IMDB, the plot follows the titular hero as “Wolverine travels to Japan to train with a samurai warrior.” From the looks of it, Wolverine had to crawl through a subway tunnel the entire way to get there, face coat-first.

Maybe all this grime is the director’s way of redeeming the X-Man after Jackman’s first turn as Wolverine was universally panned. This guy would could imagine jumping in slow-motion over a helicopter. After rumors about Jessica Biel potentially joining the movie proved to be false, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy actress Svetlana Khodchenkova was added to the production as villainess femme fatale Viper. That’s for the best. Svetlana isn’t quite the A-lister Jessica is. We wouldn’t have been able to buy it if someone as flawless as Biel was consorting with someone who’s coat is most certainly crawling with bugs.
