First off, I have seen The Five-Year Engagement, and I can tell you that it absolutely cements my opinion that Jason Segel is the best romantic lead of our time. He is just so believable and endearing and frustrating and lovable. Anyway, /gush off. At the New York premiere of the film last night, VH1 News’ Janell Snowden played coy about the fact that he is fully, openly dating Michelle Williams now, and instead got him to speak hypothetically about whether he would ever consider a super long engagement like the one in the movie.
“My plan is to get her to marry me as quickly as possible, so that she doesn’t find out who I really am,” he said. “I’ll do it romantic, but I’ll do it over a three-day weekend. We’ll meet on a Friday, have our first date on Saturday, get engaged by Sunday and get married on Monday.”
While that does sound romantic in its own way, I am rather enjoying what we’ve seen of his slightly more extended courtship of Williams. She was at the premiere (though she didn’t walk the carpet), and the Daily News reported that they were holding hands during the afterparty at the Museum of Modern Art, where Segel gave an impromptu dance performance to “Don’t Stop Believing.” Yep, that would definitely sweep me off my feet.

Jason Segel Talks About Dating Michelle Williams, Is Already The Best Boyfriend
We always forget that Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba got her start the same way Jim Carrey, the Wayans brothers, Jamie Foxx, Rosie Perez, Laurieann Gibson and Jennifer Lopez did, on In Living Color. But Inaba (who also danced on tour with Madonna, was a Japanese pop star and appeared in Austin Powers in Goldmember) reminded us when she appeared at the 2012 TV Land Awards (airing on TV Land April 29), where the Fox sketch show is receiving the Groundbreaking Award. VH1 News couldn’t resist asking if she ever reminisces about the good old days with JLo.
“Actually, we don’t really talk much,” Inaba said. “She’s on that other show called American Idol. And even though American Idol and Dancing With the Stars are right next to each other, we don’t really talk that much. Just kidding, there’s no bad blood.”
We all sawTom Cruise scramble down the side of a towering glass skyscraper in Ghost Protocol. It is any surprise he’d bring the same intensity to hair metal? Rock of Ages star Diego Boneta solemnly promises that Tom Cruise’s performance will knock our neon scrunch socks clear out of our Reebok high tops. “As a singer, Tom blew me away,” Boneta explained. “He was preparing eight hours a day for four months just taking vocal lessons. He was taking four hours of guitar every day. Then he’d get up on stage and just let go, just be a rock star. Like he didn’t put one hour of preparation into it!” And that’s not even considering the hours Tom spent in the gym to become a sinewy rock god. Have you seen that man’s torso in the movie’s promo photos? That, friends, is an eight-hour-a-day torso.
Considering Boneta, who plays Julianne Hough’s lovah in the ’80s-tastic musical movie, is himself a Mexican pop star, we take his word for it that Cruise’s vocal stylings are gasp-worthy. “It’s so overwhelming in a good way,” Diego laughed about the film. Oh, we believe you, Diego. Again, did you see that torso?
Kat Graham and her date Perez Hilton did their darndest to blind us on the red carpet of the NewNowNext Awards last week: Perez with his brand-new abs and Kat with the blingiest corset we’ve ever seen. The two were actually in matching outfits from The Blonds. “It’s very Britney/Justin 2000,” the Vampire Diaries star said of their matching outfit. “That [denim] was iconic. He had the cowboy hat, we have diamonds and studs.”
Kat has certainly been enjoying showing off her curves as she promotes her new single, “Put Your Graffiti on Me.” “I’m all about the sexy part of you,” she told us. “It’s all about the ass in this dress. I think it’s going well so far.”
Only at the NewNowNext Awards red carpet would a blond-streaked pompadour and giant wedge boots be considered business casual. But seeing as how he’s sharing the carpet with the fashion courageousness of Eden Wood and RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants Sharon Needles and Latrice Royale (in addition to so many over-the-top others), Adam Lambert knows that the eyeliner and heels he’s sporting are almost downright conservative. “In honor of all the queens here, I’m wearing a pump. I got a wedge happening,” the singer explained, showing off a hot high-zippered boot. “Compared to all these drag queens, I look normal.” Normal, fabulous in a different way, call it whatever you want Adam. The point is everyone on the red carpet was rocking “a lot of hair.” And isn’t that what brings us all together in the end?
Adam is also performing at tonight’s awards show, airing on Logo at 10pm/ET, so we’re sure he knows we love him for more than just his fashions. In fact, when VH1 News reporter Kate Spencer joked that Glambert was practically the Mitt Romney of the NewNowNext red carpet, Adam just laughed. “I look like I came off a politician trail!” he agreed. We can’t be the only people who would immediately vote for a President Glambert, right?
Pretty much everyone looked infinitely fabulous on the NewNowNext Awards red carpet last Friday, but host Kelly Osbourne was killing it in particular with her lavender gray dye job. While we personally think she looks smoking hot in a Alexander-Hamilton-meets-Judy-Jetson way, Kelly’s haters initially attacked her new look…until the fashion world declared it badass and they changed their minds. “I got called the c-word by everyone on Twitter when I dyed my hair gray and they told me I was stupid,” Osbourne explained on the red carpet. “Then the Chanel ads came out and everyone’s like, ‘I love it!'” Man, if only Karl Lagerfeld could do a Chanel ad campaign every time Kelly needed normos to understand her fierceness. Also, are people really getting that worked up over gray hair? They must be really stroking out over that whole half-shaved hair trend, then…
Laughed Osbourne, “I like it; I don’t care what anyone says.” Check out Kelly’s silvery locks, plus her non-stop outfit changes and the rest of the attendee’s fashion excellence at the awards show on Logo tonight at 10pm/ET. Decide for yourself if Kelly’s look is Grey Gardens or…well, Grey Gardens, but in like an awesome way. We think which one we’re going with.
We’re still enjoying this little breather in between awards season madness and summer blockbusters, but our own Kate Spencer already has the MTV Movie Awards on her mind — specifically, the Best Kiss Golden Popcorn, which has been dominated by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson for three years now. When she got a minute with Hunger Games cutie Josh Hutcherson at the NewNowNext Awards, she gave him the toughest of tough questions: Will Katniss and Peeta’s cave kiss rival any of Bella and Edward’s from Breaking Dawn – Part 1?
“I don’t know, they had a great kiss,” he admitted. “Theirs was so passionate. Ours was like, I was on my deathbed, wasn’t very sexy. I don’t know, we’ll see. Maybe. I’d be so lucky. One can only hope.”
American Reunion opens in theaters today, introducing a whole new generation of impressionable teens to the magic of band camp jokes and pie sex. We caught up with Chris Klein at the movie’s premiere, and he told us that things on set were even crazier than in 1999. People partied, prank wars ensued, and Jason Biggs greeted him by slapping him in the nuts. That’s the spirit!
Every time we begin to think Tracy Jordan is really just an exaggerated character Tracy Morgan plays on 30 Rock, he turns around and demonstrates that truth is still even stranger (and more extravagant) than fiction. He showed up at the New York premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour earlier this week wearing the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute, a $20,000 replica of one of the King of Pop’s jackets.
“I was trying to wait for Pacquiao-Mayweather [to wear this], but that ain’t gonna happen, so this is appropriate. This is a Michael Jackson thing!” he told VH1 News, showing of the Swarovski crystal-studded masterpiece. He told us it had 150 crystals, but later clarified to GQ.com that it’s actually 200,000 and made by Leo Velazquez after the jacket MJ wore to his 30th anniversary concert in 2001.
When VH1 News spotted Sex and the City alum Willie Garson on the red carpet of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour New York premiere, we had to ask: Has he been watching the progress of the CW’s The Carrie Diaries pilot?
“I spend all my life, 24 hours a day, on White Collar now, so I don’t know what’s going on,” he admitted. Not that he’s left Carrie’s gay BFF behind for good. “I still am Stanford Blatch sometimes, if we ever make another movie. Every time I think that it’s over, the phone rings. It’s like Bonanza, it’s never going to end.”
