Rihanna‘s mediocre performance at last night’s American Music Awards was overshadowed by an eye-catching new tattoo strategically covering the starlet’s neck and chest. We barely noticed her meekly warbling her new single because we were so transfixed by that giant “Rated R” tatt. Fierce, right?
Behold: Tristan Wilds, the man people are saying is now dating Rihanna. The actor – who is known for his work on “The Wire” and “90210″ – apparently showed up at a party the singer held in Los Angeles this past weekend. “No one knew why Tristan was there initially, because it was not an industry party — it was very intimate,” a source told the NY Daily News. “But everyone quickly realized they weren’t meeting for the first time, because they were openly affectionate for everyone to see.”
The insider adds, “She likes him a lot, and it shows. From the moment he walked into her party, Rihanna lit up.” We’d be cooing over this news if it wasn’t for Rihanna herself, who has reportedly denied that she’s dating anyone - ANYONE – at all. What do you think – is Tristan her new man – or a figment of the web’s imagination? [Photos: GettyImages]
After a tumultuous year with a little domestic violence incident with Rihanna, Chris Brown says he is not quite ready for another girlfriend. “I’ve been kinda chillin’” the singer says, extremely eloquently. “I mean, I’m Chris Brown. I’m not saying it like that, but it’s just like, girls are gonna be around. I love women. But I would say I’ve just been chillin’. I haven’t really been tryin’ to get into a relationship or trying to date anybody. I’ve just kinda been working on me. Like I said, just really getting me straight.” Probably a good idea, considering Chris was accused of beating his then girlfriend, which she has since gone on to speak about publicly on 20/20. Not the best way to end a relationship. [Source: People; Photo: Getty Images]
No, that’s not a photoshopped pic. Rihanna kept her ears warm in London last night, rocking this furry winter hat on the way to her hotel. “Darker” image or no, one must do their best to avoid frostbite. The singer is in the British capital to perform a concert from a secret location to promote her new album.
Rihanna spoke with VH1 this week about her new album, and shared a moving story about how her 20/20 interview helped to save a fan’s life. In her chat with Janell Snowden, Rihanna reveals that after watching her sit-down with Diane Sawyer, a suicidal fan in an abusive relationship called the domestic violence hotline to get help for her and her daughter. The singer says it was “really inspiring for me that she went from thinking about killing herself to moving on with a new life as a single mother.”
RiRi also discusses her new album, calling it “a personal message” that grew from “all real experiences.” Watch above.
Rihanna is back and in the full swing of things again. After Rihanna’s shocking 20/20 interview, where she spoke publicly for the first time about Chris Brown beating her, now she is back to doing what she does best: performing for a packed crowd! RiRi made a surprise appearance at Jay-Z‘s concert at UCLA last night, and belted out Run This Town with the rapper. Go Rihanna!
Good Morning America played more clips from Diane Sawyer‘s interview with Rihanna today, in which the star described what happened the night she was beaten by then-boyfriend Chris Brown. “I caught him in a lie,” she said, confirming the fight began over a text he’d received from another woman, “and he wouldn’t tell the truth…I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it…it was ugly.” As detailed in the police report, the ugliness quickly turned physical, with Brown punching her in the face and biting her shoulder.
Though she does not believe Brown planned to act on his threat to kill her (“I know he was saying it to scare me”), Rihanna denies that the violence went both ways. “I fended him off with my feet from one side of the car, but it was not like a fight with each other. I just really wanted it to stop.” A bystander eventually called 911 after hearing her screams. “It was not the same person that says ‘I love you.’ It was not those eyes,” she said. “He had no soul in his eyes. Just blank…there was no person when I looked at him.” The full interview airs tonight on ABC’s 20/20.
The paper’s music industry source explains the obvious: “Chris lost a lot of fans after he assaulted Rihanna. And after that whole scandal, he’s not exactly kid-friendly. What parent would buy their children tickets to his concert?” While his “I Can Transform Ya” single is in the top 30, the recent reminders of his crimes may keep people from wanting to cheer in person.
