Report: Rihanna Doesn’t Want To Be “The Next Whitney Houston”

According to Us Magazine, those close to Rihanna are optimistic that the singer’s recent time in Barbados has helped put her relationship with Chris Brown behind her. “She’s realizing how precious life is,” said an insider. “She’s starting to see that one wrong choice about who she loves could turn her into the next Whitney Houston.” And don’t feel offended for Whitney—the troubled singer admonished Rihanna to “not make the same mistakes I did” after the February assault.

Ronald Fenty, Rihanna’s father, is ecstatic about her determination to move forward. “[She's] a different person, back to herself. It’s like Chris never existed. She seems reborn.” Sounds like the comeback will be in full effect once Brown’s trial is over.

Chris Brown Wants RiRi Case Dismissed

Chris Brown‘s lawyer was back in court today, demanding that the judge dismiss the charges against his client due to the police department leaking information about the case. Shortly after the alleged violent incident between Brown and then-girlfriend Rihanna, a photo was leaked of her bruised and beaten face.

“The leaks can form the basis for a motion to dismiss the case in regards to outrageous governmental misconduct,” said Brown’s celebri-ttorney, Mark Geragos. The judge allowed the case to be delayed, and the gang will meet up again in court on May 28th to determine if there’s enough evidence against Brown to move forward with a trial.

Where’s Rihanna’s Grammy Party Jewelry?

Rihanna‘s attorneys filed a motion last week for the LAPD to return almost a million dollars in jewelry that was taken as evidence on the night of her alleged assault by boyfriend Chris Brown. Seems the jewelers who loaned her the goods are getting antsy, and she’ll be billed $1.4 million if she can’t get them back.

Brown’s attorney and the detective overseeing the case claim they’d be fine with photographs standing in for the jewelry in court, but the DA’s office has yet to consent after almost a month of queries. “At this stage, we’re not even sure what evidence is going to be entered into the case,” a spokeswoman told People. The jewelry will be used for oversea events, according to the request—though who’d want to wear the stuff now?

RiRi’s Life Is A Beach: Then And Now

Rihanna‘s been spotted looking beautiful on the beach in Barbados, alongside new BFF Katy Perry. The two frolicked in the warm water, jet skiied, and cruised on a boat together while flaunting some eccentric water wear.

Back in August, the songbird brought her former flame Chris Brown back to her home country, and they  spent most of their time splashing around and spooning on jet skis. Looks like she’s ditched him for a cuter pop star with better taste in bathing suits!

Rihanna: Seeing Chris Tonight, Planning Tour?

Rumors are swirling that Rihanna may have a run-in with ex Chris Brown tonight, as the two are both scheduled to appear at a party toasting songwriter Andre Merrit. The music maker is responsible for penning RiRi’s hit “Disturbia” and Chris’ song “Forever,” so it seems fitting that both singers would want to toast him and his work, which has made them millions. The gathering is set to take place tonight at a club in Los Angeles, and would possibly be the first time the pair has been together since Brown’s alleged physical outburst. We imagine that reunion will be awkward, to say the least!

Meanwhile, Rihanna is apparently planning a massive North American tour, and Ciara And Keyisha Cole are in talks to join her on the road. “Rihanna wants strong women to join her,” said an insider. “This is a ‘women empowerment’ type of tour.”

Rihanna Makeover: Fab Or Fail?

Rihanna was just a sweet girl with dreams of a music career, when a record producer vacationing in Barbados discovered the songbird and plucked her from the tiny island, relocating her to NYC to record an album. Jay-Z signed her immediately, and thus began RiRi’s career on the red carpet, offering up her good girl looks and easy pop tunes for the entire world to feast upon.

A simple haircut — taking her long locks into a seriously angled bob — seemed to change everything for Rihanna. She started sporting edgy designer looks and her onstage outfits and antics began to get wild. She continued chopping her hair into the short, severe, and super hot look she rocks today. Though she’s currently embracing a curly look, Rihanna continues to embrace her wild side with every outfit, proving that fashion – just like life – can be an adventure.

Despite reports that Chris Brown is hooking up with  new women, his rumored new love interests adamantly deny that they are anything more than “friends.”  In fact, a source claims that Chris and allegedly battered girlfriend Rihanna spent time together Easter weekend.

“They met recently. They’re friends. That’s it,” a source says of Chris and rumored new love Girlicious singer Natalie Mejia. Now with news that Chris and Rihanna spent the holiday together, could the lovers be getting back together after reportedly taking a break?
