Anyone who’s anyone in the movie is attending the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles tonight. The show is not only honoring the best movie moments of the past year, but is also paying tribute to the Comedic Genius Will Ferrell, the Trailblazer Emma Watson, and the MTV Generation Award winner Jamie Foxx. That’s all well and good, but what we REALLY want to know is who showed up on who’s arm to tonight’s ceremony?

When we were freshmen in high school ten years ago, Eminem’s portrayal of struggling rapper Jimmy “B-Rabbit” Smith (A.K.A. himself) in 8 Mile was an inspiration. The monster hit “Lose Yourself” from the soundtrack became our personal pump up jam to run laps during gym class, and gave us the confidence to take that “one shot” and ask Jenna to the prom, try out for the class play, or pass that chem test! Plus it was also notable for changing the way we thought of the phrase “mom’s spaghetti” forever.
However as we got a little older, we realized the one shot ol’ Marshall Matthers was rapping about was much more serious than our day to day high school drama. It was about reconciling hopes and dreams with growing up and responsibility, all against the bleek Detroit backdrop. By no means a quick flick rushed out to capitalize on his skyrocketing fame, Eminem gave an incredible performance, made all the more amazing considering it was his first movie!
But Eminem is by no means the only rapper who tried his hand at acting. In fact, it seemed like every MC has made the jump to films at one time or another. Some totally killed it and became a successful multi-talented crossover artist, while others…made Soul Plane. So in honor of Em’s epic 8 Mile turning 10 years old today, we’ve decided to take a look back at some of our favorite rappers-turned-movie stars over the years. Enjoy!

Clueless/Single Ladies alumna Stacey Dash practically broke Twitter this morning when she posted the above photo with the message: “Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney.”
Before this past week, when Dash has been in the news thanks to the Clueless reunion Entertainment Weekly put together, she’s mostly made headlines for her rep as a diva. So we’re gonna go ahead and guess that this is not the Romney campaign’s secret plan to win over women voters. But we’re grateful to Stacey for giving us a reason to bring up a questionable endorsement for Romney’s opponent: the list Snoop Dogg/Lion reposted on Instagram last week, listing “Why I’m Not Voting for Romney” and “Why I’m Voting for Obama.” Read more…

While many celebs spent the warmer months gallivanting in the Hamptons, yachting in the Mediterrean or hitting up [the VIP sections of] music festivals, some were making questionable decisions like staging a protest in Costco, brawling in bars, driving like maniacs and “servicing” themselves in movie theaters. The summer temps brought out “the naughty” in stars ranging from The Biebs to Randy Travis to Fred Willard. Here are 14 celebrities who got arrested, barely slipped by or at the least induced major facepalms this summer.

Didn’t this guy write a YA novel about bullying? We didn’t realize it was a How-To. Heyo! Seriously though, 50 Cent was clearly in dire need of attention this week. Yes, even more than usual! Why else would he have insulted both Kim Kardashian and Snoop Dogg in the press? “I mean … if that man feel like she’s perfect, then she’s perfect. He could mean it and you’ll end up singing the words to it because he’s Kanye,” Fiddy told XXL Magazine about Yeezy’s lady Kim, adding, “You know how it is? One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Ouch! That’s an intense burn, 50 Cent! We guess the man did date Chelsea Handler. Have there been any studies to determine if perfect comedic timing can be sexually transmitted?
If that wasn’t enough material for Fiddy to take to an open mic, he also riffed on Snoop Dogg‘s new Rastafarian moniker Snoop Lion. “I don’t know how his little league team’s parents will feel about his new persona,” he quipped to The Hollywood Reporter. Hmmm, seeing as how Snoop’s persona has been “notorious rap stoner” since day one, we’re not sure if that joke really makes any sense. That being said, the mental image of Snoop coaching a Little League team is complete genius. Okay, we’ll give you that one, Fiddy…and start looking forward to your inevitable Comedy Central special now.

As far as we’re concerned, Snoop Dogg…we’re sorry, Snoop Lion is seconds away from signing his American Idol contract as we speak. We can only assume AI producers screamed with joy this week after they heard the rapper declare “I’ll do American Idol” in an interview. We never would have thought to pair Snoop with Mariah Carey, but now that we have, the two will never be torn asunder. American Idol spokesperson Neil Schubert has so far refused to comment on Snoop’s…comment, but we can dare to dream, can’t we? While we’re at it, there are a bunch of other shows we’re dying for Snoop to spruce up as well:
At this point we think Snoop Dogg’s name should be a synonym for weed. “Where’s the Snoop Dogg at?” or “This Snoop Dogg is for medicinal purposes only.” See how smoothly that works? Snoop is not going to be without his weed in the U.S., and apparently not in Norway either. TMZ reports Mr. Doggy Dogg is in Norway to perform at the Hove Festival, but upon arriving he was busted with weed at the airport in Kristiansand. The Cali rapper was detained, but was let go with a fine of 2,000 Norwegian Krone, which converts to roughly $1,980.13. He lucked up (if there’s such a thing in this situation) by having eight grams, anything less than 15 in Norway is only punishable by fine, which he paid right away. Gotta love Snoop. He gets busted with weed and pays his debt to society immediately. Read more…

We all love a good marijuana scandal — let’s say it’s the kind of thing that proves the rich and famous are human. Naturally, rappers like Wiz Khalifa actors like James Franco are the equivalent of a super prompt delivery service for these stories. But sometimes we like the special stuff, like when a less obvious star is caught on camera like Miley Cyrus smoking salvia on her 18th birthday. And it’s a riot when celebs full-on boast of their relationship with the green stuff, like Soulja Boy did via Twitter. Were we a little surprised when Robin Thicke was busted for pot possession? Hmm, maybe just by the fact that he got caught.
Now, it’s not like we’re advocating drug use here, folks. We’re just going to celebrate 4/20 the best way we know how, by looking at all our favorite famous people, including Kristen Stewart , Rihanna and Rupert Grint with the infamous Ms. Mary Jane.

Dick Clark, the pioneering TV host of American Bandstand, passed away this morning after suffering a heart attack. We’ll have a complete obituary of America’s Oldest Teenager over on VH1 Tuner. But here, we’re focusing our attention on the outpouring of remembrances from a not-so-surprisingly wide variety of celebrities on Twitter. The New Year’s Rockin’ Eve host touched a lot of lives. First up, naturally, is this reaction from the man who took the New Year’s reins from him, Ryan Seacrest.

Other broadcasters, from Al Roker to MTV alum Dave Holmes, were also saddened by the news.
