Jennifer Lawrence Left Starstruck By Jack Nicholson And More Oscar Introductions

Oscars Jennifer Lawrence Meets Jack Nicholson

With such heavy pre-show coverage before the Academy Awards, media outlets typically bank on a few disastrous gowns and at least one or two “OMG” moments–à la The Dictator’s baby powder bomb–to keep things interesting while sweating it out on live television.  But sometimes, allowing the stars to act naturally (what a concept!), along with a few well-timed introductions, is all the magic one red carpet telecast needs. That and Jennifer Lawrence‘s vivacious personality and knack for making awesome faces.

Reese Witherspoon Hits First Premiere In Almost Two Years

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon isn’t red carpet shy, but the actress doesn’t hit movie premieres as often as you might assume. In fact, last night’s premiere How Do You Know was her first appearance at one since Monsters & Aliens in March 2009. Sure, she hasn’t actually made a movie since Monsters & Aliens, but that doesn’t mean she can’t show up at a former co-star’s to be supportive, like Seth Rogen and Tony Danza did last night. Don’t tell us those guys have more time on their hands—Tony’s got papers to grade!

See more photos of the bash in the gallery below—looks like Paul Rudd’s not really into posing for fans!

Celebs Show Their Love For The Lakers At Game 7

David Arquette, Kim Kardashian & Anthony Kiedis

Maria Menounos and Dane Cook might have been bummed, but most of the celebs onhand at the Staples Center last night were overjoyed with the Lakers victory over the Celtics in Game 7 of the NBA Championship series. Such familiar faces as Jack Nicholson and the Red Hot Chili Peppers cheered on the team, along with finger-waving David Arquette and Courteney Cox, George Lopez, Dustin Hoffman, a rather distant Jake Gyllenhaal (maybe he heard Reese would be there…) and those kaptivating Kardashians. Though Kim wasn’t hollering away like Khloe, we’re sure the Lakers appreciated her cleavage-baring, shredded t-shirt more than any single cheer. See more celebs in the gallery below.

Dustin Hoffman And Jason Bateman Make Out For The Lakers

Jason Bateman & Dustin Hoffman

Talk about passing the torch! While there were more famous celebrities at last night’s Lakers game, the biggest stars in the stands were easily Jason Bateman and Dustin Hoffman, who treated the kiss-cam to one of the least expected make-out sessions ever. More expected was having the entire cast of Grown Ups appear in the front row—hope they had to pay extra for that bit of advertising. See Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and other celebs cheer on the Lakers’ finals win in the gallery below.

Friends Mourn As Dennis Hopper Is Laid To Rest

SPL184811_004

Several of Dennis Hopper‘s celebrity friends were on hand in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico to say farewell to their old pal at his funeral yesterday. Jack Nicholson and Peter Fonda were there to send off their Easy Rider co-star, with Nicholson saying “It was a very singular relationship I had with him, like nobody else. We were soul mates in a way. I really miss him.” Val Kilmer, who starred with Hopper in True Romance and lives in a neighboring town in New Mexico also attended.

Hopper, who died on Saturday from prostate cancer at age 74, was eulogized by his son Henry Lee Hopper, who said “There are very, very few people in this world who fight from the day they’re born to the day they go out. I would say Dennis was undoubtedly one of these people.”

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Last Night’s Oscar Winners

Jeff Bridges

What’s an award show without silly trivia the morning after? Here are some obscure tidbits about last night’s Oscar winners. And remember, everyone nominated is a winner.

  • Having finally snagged an Oscar after forty years in the industry, Jeff Bridges can now focus on getting a Grammy. The Crazy Heart crooner actually released a reggae-flavored album, Be Here Soon, in 2000. Click here to enjoy “Movin’”—”soon I’ll be touching you…touching the dream!”
  • The majority of Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz‘s film career has been over in Germany, but fans hungry to see him sans subtitles can rent the 2000 straight-to-DVD flop, Ordinary Decent Criminal, an Irish crime drama starring Kevin Spacey and Colin Farrell. Waltz plays Dutch art dealer Peter: judging from this clip, we’re not surprised Oscar didn’t notice.
  • Sandra Bullock may have never been near an Oscar before, but she gave her first televised acceptance speech in 1995, when she won Best Female Performance, Most Desirable Female and Best On-Screen Duo with Keanu Reeves for Speed at the MTV Movie Awards. Those guys are always ahead of the curve!

See seven more, including clips of Jeremy Renner‘s stoner comedy debut and Kathryn Bigelow as a sexy cowgirl, after the jump.

Charlize And Stuart PDA-dorable At Lakers Game

chuart

Not since Jay-Z and Beyonce has a couple looked so in love at a sporting event. Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend have always kept their romance private (some speculate they’ve secretly wed) but at last night’s Lakers game, they became frontrunners for Hollywood’s cutest couple. The pair cuddled and laughed courtside, alongside fellow celebs Nicky Hilton, Sacha Baron Cohen, Adam Levine, the Kardashian sisters, David Beckham, Heather Locklear, and Lakers mainstay Jack Nicholson. Who knew the Staples Center was the hottest spot in Hollywood? [Photos: Getty Images & Splash News Online]

Separated At Birth?

jack-nicholson

Sooner or later, all men start to look like Jack Nicholson (pictured above, right). Those comfy shirts, that useful flat cap shielding your eyes from the sun, that, “I can eat what the hell I want and women still love me” belly. It’s a good place to be. But imagine our surprise when we saw that Pierce Brosnan (left) had already succumbed to The Jack look. Hell, he’s not Bond anymore and life’s just more fun this way. We applaud you! Catherine Zeta-Jones Shows Off For Michael Douglas

michael douglas & catherine zeta-douglas

Catherine Zeta-Jones sure hasn’t run out of love for Michael Douglas. His Traffic co-star and wife of almost nine years showed off plenty of leg at his AFI Lifetime Achievement tribute in Hollywood last night, thanks to a long split in her red carpet gown and a slinky short dress she wore for a musical number. Yes, she did a musical number for him. That’s devotion.

Judging from the number of former co-stars present at the event, Douglas must do a good job of keeping friends. Old pals like Kathleen Turner, Sharon Stone and Jack Nicholson paid tribute, as well younger bucks Tobey Maguire, Matthew McConaughey and Benicio Del Toro. Bob Dylan even played “Times Have Changed” from Wonder Boys—who knew Bob was this much of a fan?

The AFI Tribute To Michael Douglas will air on TV Land Prime, July 19. Check out the gallery to see who else showed up.

Jon Peters’ Tell-All Proposal Leaked

jon peters

Deadline Hollywood Daily has leaked the entire proposal for notorious Batman producer Jon Peters‘ upcoming tell-all, Studio Head, and it looks even more disgusting than we knew already. If the hairdresser-turned-studio exec-turned-lawsuit magnet is to be believed, he’s nailed every woman he ever wanted to—except for Elle MacPherson.  “He tried everything, and, with Jon, that means everything, but he could not melt her antipodean heart.” And somehow, no one else could resist.

  • Barbra Streisand: “He found Barbra totally hot. He loved her body, particularly her heretofore concealed legs and derriere, and he was overtly provocative in telling her so. What really turned him on was that he saw her becoming even hotter under his Pygmalion makeover skills.”
  • Barbara Walters: “She plied Jon with champagne and caviar, then changed into ‘something comfortable,’ leaving her bedroom door strategically ajar as she stripped down to her bra and panties, giving Jon a 20-20 view, as it were, of the Barbara W in all her glory. Whether Barbara was setting a trap to get the scoop of a lifetime, or whether she was making a sincere pass, Jon didn’t snap at the bait.”
