The Great Gatsby features one of the most iconic pool scenes in entertainment history -and if that’s a spoiler, well then shame on you for not doing your 9th grade English homework. Baz Luhrmann‘s big screen adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic opens wide this Friday (!), and just like Gatsby, our relationship with pools has been a mix of both pleasure and pain. Yes, it’s a rare and awesome chance to get a first-hand glimpse at seriously fit people putting their fab physique on display in revealing swimwear. But then it gets weird when people ask us why we’re swimming with our shirt on. “I’m cold” doesn’t work as well as you’d think. But in honor of the film’s release, we’ve decided to count down ten movie pool scenes where no one keeps their shirt on!

Celebrities — they’re just like us, right? By which we mean, our stars arrive as a mixed bag: We have our American sweethearts, the class clowns and, of course, the bad seeds. Even if it’s normal for a former Disney teenage star to flash her crotch in public these days, Santa does not approve. And yet other A-listers used their stardom in 2012 to rise above the fray, display their philanthropic ways, and prove there are menches in Hollywood. Their hard work does not go unnoticed, and we know those little elves (a.k.a., their agents) are stuffing some A-list gifts in their stockings. Because we all know that Justin Bieber really needs another hoodie. And maybe we need the Lindsay Lohans out there to make us appreciate the Matt Damons even more. Here we’ve broken down our list of our naughty n’ nice celebrities of 2012.

Naughty

1. Chris Brown – I don’t even know where to begin with this one. Brown brawled with Drake in a club, rekindled a romance with the woman he abused and tattooed an image of a battered woman on his neck. Ah, Chris Brown. You never fail to prove you are the biggest douchebag there ever was. Not only will Santa be skipping your house this year, but I can assure you, Dancer, Prancer, and Rudolph will send you a stocking filled with their droppings.

2. Amanda Bynes – The former child star who rose to fame with All That and The Amanda Show is now giving audiences a different kind of Amanda show — one filled with hit and runs and DUIs. Santa may not think you’re all that this year, but hopefully you can take that as a sign to get it together for 2013. Put down the booze, get some help, and nab a supporting role in an indie comedy to reboot your career. Or, if you’re really retiring from acting, take a break from making headlines too. We’re rooting for you, Amanda.

3. Nicki Minaj – Nicki needs to learn to respect her elders … and the divas around town. She and Mariah Carey have been at it since auditions of American Idol this year, and we’re placing blame on the rap star who allegedly threatened to “shoot” Mariah in an argument. There’s no need for that kind of drama in the search for America’s next pop star, is there? Coal for you, Ms. Minaj.

The Top 25 Most Incredible Celebrity Shoes Of 2012

Are you the sort of person who scrolls down to see what shoes celebrities are wearing when you see an outfit that interests you? Then this is the list for you. Even if you aren’t a shoe fanatic, this is still a fun exercise, to be honest. We’ve compiled together our list of the top 25 most drool-worthy heels, platforms and boots spotted on celebrities in 2012. And to make it even more interesting, when you visit the gallery below, we’ve put pictures of the shoes first, with the celebrity reveal right after, so you can have a go at guessing who the gorgeous heel, platform, pump, bootie or boot belongs to! The caption on each celebrity reveal will also tell you what brand the shoe is and where and when it was worn. All our favourite celebrities are in there: Beyonce, Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone and a whole host more.

A couple of spoilers, though. We won’t tell you the color of the shoes so you can still have a guess when you look through the pictures. We adore Mila Kunis‘ Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ and Miley Cyrus‘ Jimmy Choo ‘Tippi” pumps, respectively. Jessica Biel‘s landed Elle‘s January 2013 cover, and as you can see above, we don’t know what takes precdence: that necklace or her bangs! She poses with a number of our favorite designers in the spread, including Giambattista Valli, Jean Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaïa, but the interview is all about her wedding to Justin Timberlake, and what it’s like being Mrs. J.T. She’s also talked about the now-famous pink wedding dress she wore, saying, “I wanted the dress to be very romantic and feminine and a shape that I very rarely wear. I have never been crazy about all-white wedding dresses, for me at least. [Valli] had created that same fabric in a fuchsia-and-pink combination for a dress in a previous collection, and I asked him if he could create that same pattern in a white combination, and he suggested pink. It was a bit of a leap of faith at the time, but it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. [Putting it on], I felt like I had made the right choice. I felt elegant. And it moved like a dream.”

Another super cute moment is when she talks about Justin’s domestic side — he really has one, people — revealing, “He bakes pies. He’s Southern, so he’s got all this influence from his grandma. He does a three-layer pie…and blueberry crunch cake, which is pretty unbelievable. It doesn’t happen all that often, thank God. Otherwise, it would be a big problem.” And does anyone else think their idea of marriage sounds adorable, but kind of sexy? Her idea comprises, “It means always having someone there to open the pickle jar…to share the ups and downs with, have adventures with.  Someone to go swimming naked with. That kind of thing.” He bakes and goes skinny-dipping — do not let this one go, Jessica.

There are so many events happening simultaneously all over the globe that it’s hard to keep track sometimes. Out of all who’s who going where and why, we’ve culled out our three favorite fashion stories from around the country in the interests of brevity and conciseness. We’ll start with Taylor Swift who hosted the the Grammy Nominations Concert Live with LL Cool J in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena. You can read the full list of Grammy noms on VH1 Tuner. Why do we love this look so much? Because Taylor looks like a cross between a snowflake and a lace doily in this Queens dress and still pulls it off! Next up, is Jessica Biel at the Playing For Keeps premiere in New York, and the reason why she’s on this list is because of the OMF factor of her Versace dress. Slashed neckline, much? And tiny waist, hello! Jessica teamed the statement dress with Sergio Rossi shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Lastly, we have Justin Bieber, who we included pretty much because of that pose. It’s so faux gangster that it makes us giggle. As do the sunglasses and the gold bling. It’s the Biebs, guys! How did this happen? The funny part is, Jessica Biel probably paid more than our rent for those boob flaps. We’re not exactly Anna Wintour up in herr, which is why we are completely simpatico with Helen Mirren‘s apparent confusion with her coworker’s frock at the Hitchock premiere? Are this avante garde armpit wings? Are they side boob wind shields? Nipple blinders? Unlike Helen Mirren, we could never just run up and grab Jessica Biel’s chesticles like that, but hey. That’s why some people would give their left nipple blinder to meet Helen Mirren. She just has a certain way about her. She could probably give Alfred Hitchcock himself a purple nurple and the famed director would just chuckle bemusedly. We guess it’s far too late to include a moment like that in the film, right?

Flaps aside, both gorgeous leading ladies looked stunning on the new biopic’s premiere red carpet last night. At least Jessica’s Gucci dress also had a elegant low-cut back to distract the eye. We hate to see her go, but we love to watch her leave! Because once Jessica leaves, we won’t be filled with the overwhelming urge to grab those flaps. Seriously, what are they? Well-Played: Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel Bring Beauty And Backpacks To Sandy Victims

If anything was going to convince us that newlyweds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel had nothing to do with that horribly tasteless homeless video his friends made, this was it: Just home from their glam wedding in Italy and secluded honeymoon in Tanzania, the couple headed out to hurricane ravaged Far Rockaway, New York, on Saturday to hand out supplies. Of course, we assume that if your home has been destroyed by floods and you haven’t had power in two weeks, the last thing you care about is who the person is handing you a backpack full of much-needed supplies, even if they have perfect bone structure. Still, we know relief efforts still need every helping hand they could get, so we hope that the sight of makeup-less Jessica and low-key JT laboring away for three and a half hours inspires a few of their fans to get out there and help too. Also, this might be the best collaboration ever between Timberlake and Timbaland.
