Can I give Kate Bosworth a slow clap? Firstly, because I will always love Blue Crush, the film the inspired to me to, one day, learn how to surf. That day hasn’t arrived yet, but I am hopeful it will soon. Secondly, because of this SK-II skincare bidnezz down in Australia. It’s one of my favourite skincare brands and a woman I absolutely adore is already one of their spokespersons — Cate Blanchett. Anything she endorses, I’m on board with. Besides, have you seen the woman’s skin? It’s flawless. Score one for SK-II! Their recent coup was also signing Kate to be one of their representatives, so they now have two actress Kate’s, first letter not-withstanding, who are both absolutely radiant. Ms. Bosworth’s first go as their brand new face was yesterday, at David Jones in Sydney, and she wore that incredible, eye-catching gold sequined Stella McCartney Spring 2013 strapless sheath you see on the left. Giuseppe Zanotti gold and a patent leather gold clutch completed the outfit, which I am whole-heartedly on board with. The sheath could have been a tad more fitted but that’s a minor quibble. Today, Kate was at Myer Sydney City at another SK-II promotional event and she rocked it in a pretty, yet edgy Preen shirt and skirt with with Casadei pumps. I actually love the construction of the skirt, with the slit and the sheer panel. I couldn’t wear it, but I’m glad someone can! As far as I’m concerned, this woman’s style cred just keeps getting better and better. I may like the Preen combination better than the gold sheath, but that’s just me. Which one’s your favourite outfit?

Just as we were surprised by the best-dressed list at the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards, we’re as surprised with the not-so-best dressed list. We’re not going to say “worst-dressed” here because these women are all bona fide sartorial stars. With a couple of tweaks, perhaps the outfits could have been better. We still applaud them for taking fashion risks — only, we’re not onboard with the choices they made for this particular event. We’ll start with Dakota Fanning who wore head-to-toe Proenza Schouler. She looks swamped by the fabric and her hair isn’t doing her any favors. Lily Collins suffered the same fate. The high bun just didn’t suit her, and while her Marchesa frock was young and flirty in silhouette, those wings on the bodice looked like her breasts were about to take flight, or something. We do like the metallic Giuseppe Zanotti heels, though.
The most salvageable look was Kate Bosworth‘s. While her multicolored Altuzarra dress could totally have worked, it was ruined by the random cutout on the hip and that belly-dancer embellishment. Can we just say that those Gianvito Rossi for Altuzarra ankle cuff pumps are sexy as all hell and we want them? Sadly, Jessica Chastain got it the most wrong in a white and gold Prabal Gurung cocktail dress. That “flap” is unnecessary and the color washed her out. Prabal Gurung dressed Zoe Saldana as well, in a sheer panelled gown which she accessorized with Cartier jewels. Love Zoe. Do not love these semi-sheer dresses everyone seems to be wearing. See for yourself in the gallery below.

We’ll give you the juice about who was at Coachella this weekend in a minute, but first we’d like to give props to the very lovely Emma Watson. It was her birthday yesterday and what better way to celebrate than at the festival? Actually, she did find a better way to celebrate — canoodling with a fine mystery man as you can see in the photograph on the left. Happy birthday, indeed. Next up, we got Katy Perry who has traded her bright blue Smurf hair for a darker black with deep purple highlights. She pulls off the hippie headband, doesn’t she? Someone else wearing said headband (with fewer clothes on) was Paris Hilton, who is now fully exploring her music festival avatar thanks to boyfriend, Afrojack.
Someone who really can’t carry off hippie, but is one regardless, is Vanessa Hudgens, who wore sheer thigh-highs for some odd reason. She attended the festival with boyfriend Austin Butler. Other couples included squee-worthy Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, Fergie and Josh Duhamel and Kate Bosworth with Michael Polish. Two faces we didn’t expect to see were Dylan McDermott and Pierce Brosnan. For the full list of expected and unexpected stars, get thee to the gallery below.

While we’ve spent some time this week admiring the very practical wardrobe choices of the stars at the Sundance Film Festival, we also had a few SMH moments as we flipped through some pics from Park City. Some celebrities refuse to trade in their typical Hollywood red-carpet style for puffy coats and Sorels. Take Estelle, for instance, who was at the festival for the first time.
“It’s cold! It’s snowy and cold! Why do they do this here?” the British songstress asked VH1 News as we noticed her beautiful, but very delicate, sparkly pumps. “Darling, I have to be fabulous! I don’t want duck boots! I have duck boots; I left them home in New York.”
But if she comes back again next year, she’ll give in. “I will be here in furs, big thick jumpers, boots, and I will not take them off for anybody. Layers are cute.”
Check out all the other stars who sacrificed comfort for style, including Paris Hilton, Kate Bosworth, AnnaLynne McCord and more. And you can find the rest of VH1 News’ Sundance interviews right here.

That’s Chloe Moretz and Keanu Reeves re-creating Taxi Driver for the November issue of Harpers Bazaar, by the way. The magazine pays homage to Martin Scorsese with a photo spread re-enacting some of his most memorable movie scenes. It’s a pretty fantastic idea with stars like Kate Bosworth doing The Age of Innocence and our favorite: Christina Hendricks posing for Gangs of New York.
The shoot accompanies an article with celebrities talking about their Marty moments — collaborations, anecdotes, stories from the set and such! Jodie Foster reminisces about Taxi Driver, saying, “When we were shooting Taxi Driver, I think Marty was really uncomfortable with the fact that I was so young. The memory I have is of him and Robert De Niro trying to tell me how to unzip [De Niro's] pants. And Marty keeps bursting out laughing. He can’t get a word out, and he tries to act serious, you know? He keeps smoothing down his face on both sides, but he just keeps laughing…” This one’s a classic, folks. Especially if you’re a movie buff. Scorcese’s first-ever 3-D family flick, Hugo, is in theaters on November 23.

We’re so used to seeing Kate Bosworth perfectly put together in couture that this was a bit of a shock for us! The actress was seen sporting weird turquoise dip-dyed hair at a Coldplay concert yesterday at UCLA. This has got to be for a role, right? Is this her way of acting out after breaking up with Alexander Skarsgard? ‘Cause if we ever broke up with someone who looked like that, we’d be tearing our hair out, not dyeing it. Or is this Kate’s version of latent punk predilections coming out into the fore? Call us square, but we’re hoping it’s the former. What say you FAB nation?
Unlike the vampire’s sexy, sexy curse, true love doesn’t always last forever. US Weekly reports that Alexander Skarsgard and Kate Bosworth broke up, meaning your fantasies of Eric taking you as his immortal bride are one tiny step closer to coming true!
Having dated for almost two years, the couple apparently called it quits without us knowing about it. “It was very mutual,” a source claims. “And it happened a while ago.” According to another source, the True Blood star is single and already mingling, flirting with fans at the Film District party at San Diego Comic-Con. “He’s single,” the source reports, “and he is loving the attention!” Oh, and did we mention Alexander Skarsgard’s doctorate that he just received? It’s like he was engineered to be your boyfriend. Now all you have to do is dispatch Sookie, and all your crazy dreams will be realized!

Coachella 2011 just ended and as usual, tons of stars were around – both onstage and off – at the music festival. They all wore their best hippie chic gear, as is evident with the likes of Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Vanessa Hudgens (who, we kid you not, wore printed bell-bottoms). Some ladies did represent vintage, like Dita von Teese who looked like a 1940′s pin-up in a sailor hat, and Katy Perry, who went quasi-flapper!
It’s no secret that we have a massive crush on Ian Somerhalder and we’ve resolutely ignored rumors of him and Nina Dobrev dating because IT ISN’T HAPPENING. So him and Nina at Coachella? Casually almost draped over each other? Hanging out with Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger? Just because those two are a couple, doesn’t mean it’s a double date! (Someone hold us while we cry.) For more skinny — quite literally with ladies like Whitney Port and Kate Bosworth — on who was there, check out our gallery below. [Photos: Splash News Online]
Welcome to The Daily Hot – our round-up of the sexiest pics and stories on the interwebs. Today’s steaming pile of hotness:
There were two types of people at this weekend’s Hollywood Style Awards: Glee cast-members who looked great and non-Glee folk who didn’t. What is it about these kinds of ceremonies that makes everyone go crazy? Selena Gomez looked aquamoronic, Kate Bosworth wore genie casual and Emily Blunt was a rook worth sacrificing. Disagree? Check out the gallery below and let us know. Sidebar: Selena Gomez isn’t dating Justin Bieber, but she sure looked comfortable cuddling with pal Cory Monteith at the event. Sure, they’re bowling partners of Taylor Swift, but is there something more? Sure, he’s ten years older than her—seriously, dude’s 28!—but eight years isn’t keeping Taylor away from Jake Gyllenhaal.
