We got a quick glimpse of the wild costume-ball getup Lily Collins dons in her upcoming still-untitled Snow White movie last week. Now, the studio released a few more images from Tarsem Singh’s fantastical fairy-tale adaptation, and among them is a head shot (heads shot?) of Lily in the giant swan headdress. And it’s further proof of what fashion bloggers have been saying for some time now: swans are the new black.
Björk’s new album, Biophilia, drops tomorrow, and though she sold her infamous swan dress for charity years ago, we wish she would trot out the look once more on her publicity tour, just to say “Toldya so!” to the haters who mocked it back in 2001. And then Natalie Portman would bum-rush her interview and cut her. Sorry, don’t know how that story just spun out of control there. Anyway, vote for the best swan, and then peruse these gorgeous Snow White pics after the jump.
Stars have hair and makeup people, trainers, and stylists. But even an army of experts cannot save some celebrities from showing up in horrifying outfits on Oscar night. From Bjork‘s infamous swan dress to Trey Parker and Matt Stone dressing in drag to costume designer Lizzy Gardiner showing up with American Express cards all over her body to Whoopi Goldberg‘s bizarre jumpsuit and cape getup, rarely does an Oscar ceremony pass without some crazy star wearing a red carpet tragedy. When news broke about Iceland’s economy collapsing in the fall, we wondered how on earth this ace country was going to pull through. And now we know – their biggest (OK, only) international superstar Bjork is going to sort it all out! Yay! The swan-outfit-wearing pop pixie has turned venture capitalist to, you know, like, fix stuff.
“[Bjork] has teamed up Audur Capital, a Reykjavik-based investment company founded and managed by women, to launch a sustainable investment fund. Bjork, 43, and the financial services firm have already pumped 100 million Icelandic kronur into the fund, which has been named after the diminutive star,” reports Britain’s Metro.
Unexpected it may be, but in these economically troubled times we’ve all got to do our bit. Expect Paris Hilton to do the same for the US, and Jodie Marsh to help out Britain’s ailing property market. Or not. [Photo: Splash News Online]
In 1992, Troy Aikman led the Dallas Cowboys to win Super Bowl XXVII. The same year, Icelandic singer Björk left The Sugarcubes and began a successful solo career. Both were born on November 21st, but which one is older? Click on the photo to find out.
