Get lost Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Woodstock: there’s a new epic concert in town! It would probably be easier to name who WASN’T at the iHeartRadio music festival this weekend in Las Vegas than try to tackle the luminous lineup. It’s seems like every big name in entertainment showed their face at the MGM Hotel to groove to the sounds of bands new and old. Lady Gaga ruled supreme (of course) with a hot show including special guest Sting. But the highlight of her set was the emotional tribute to Jamey Rodemeyer, the 14-year-old Gaga fan who committed suicide last Sunday after being tormented by bullies for his homosexuality. Have a tissue ready.
Some of the bigger acts also included Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, and we haven’t even scratched the surface. Even the Black Eyed Peas took a hiatus from their hiatus to perform! Check out the gallery below to see which of your favorites tore up the stage and lit up the red carpet!

Gwyneth Paltrow lives by a different sort of life code than most of us. Just ask anyone who subscribes to her email newsletter, GOOP. The actress has famously peddled her ‘body cleanse’, recommended trying the $120 fish soup at a New York eatery, and advised working moms to simply get an assistant. And now Gwyneth is at it again by trying to convince us that infidelity is a normal part of marriage. In fact, the self-described “romantic” says that she doesn’t judge those who cheat on their loved ones. Excuse us while we do spit-takes with the $9,000 bottle of prosecco GOOP recommended we buy.
“Life is complicated and long and I know people that I respect and admire and look up to who have had extra-marital affairs,” she told a press conference while promoting her upcoming film, Contagion. “It’s like we’re flawed. We’re human beings and sometimes you make choices that other people are going to judge…” Hmm…is Gwyneth trying to tell us something? “I think that the more I live my life, the more I learn not to judge people for what they do.” Is she really talking about “friends,” or is there trouble in organic paradise with her husband, Coldplay front man Chris Martin? She claims no, saying “‘I’m lucky. I have a wonderful, blessed life. I have two fantastically delightful children and a very nice husband, so…knock on wood.” But only the finest mahogany will do. Consult your GOOP newsletter for more details.

Gwyneth: OMG, Young HOV is here! Welcome to the Hamptons! Sandy jungle where we isolate ourselves among people of our own economic class! There’s nothing you can’t buyyyy!
Jay-Z: Goopster! Don’t you look adorable.
Gwyneth: Thanks! I’m on a Chardonnay cleanse this week.
Jay-Z: Well that and your WASP-y pretentious tendencies keep you young.
Gwyneth: That they do! Is Beyonce here?
Jay-Z: She’s looking for a parking spot.
Gwyneth: You mean, she’s cruising slowly in your off-white Lexus?
Jay-Z: I guess so.
Gwyneth: I love acupuncture!
Jay-Z: I’m going to go talk to your husband.
Gwyneth: Well, on to the next one, as you say!
Jay-Z: You’ve never heard any of my other albums, have you? Reasonable Doubt? Vol. 3…Life and Times of S. Carter? The Blueprint? Most of them are classics, you know.

Details are trickling in as we type … But we’re hearing about a fundraiser for Haiti that is being masterminded by George Clooney. Allegedly MTV has agreed to air a bi-coastal happening on all of its channels (MTV, BET, CMT and our beloved VH1) in an attempt to provide much-needed support for the devasted victims of the earthquake.
According to Showbiz411, which broke the story today, Clooney was busy recruiting celebs at a party for Up in the Air last night — and Sting, after being approached, was overheard saying “Where do I go?” The timing for recruiting talent could not be better as nearly every A-list actor will be attending the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on Friday and then the Golden Globes on Sunday. Expect to hear a lot about Haiti in upcoming acceptance speeches!
It’s hard to imagine this event going down without music. We can’t confirm anything at this time, but a straight talking-head telethon just isn’t how VH1 or MTV rolls. Plus, can you imagine Sting without his guitar? Exactly.
After the jump, we start the Official Haiti Fundraiser Celebrity Lineup Guessing Game, which includes Wyclef Jean, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Diddy, U2, Alicia Keys, Coldplay, Shakira, John Legend, Adam Lambert, Ryan Seacrest and the Dixie Chicks. (But first, find out how you can help at the White House’s website.)
This week is just ripe with cheating scandals! If you’re not busy reading about Fergie and Josh Duhamel‘s stripper cheating scandal, check out what the rumors are about Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow – that he was spotted making out with none other than hot blonde Kate Bosworth. Josh is denying he had anything to do with stripper Nicole Forrester, but Chris is taking his denial to the next level – and suing the magazine that reported the story. Martin’s rep says the accusation is “totally untrue.” A source says Gwyneth and Chris are “more than fine. Kate may have been in the same room as him, but he is not having an affair, was not kissing her or holding her hand.” [Source: ABC; Photo: Getty Images]
Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom was glittering last night—and it wasn’t just the reflection off Spike Lee‘s hat. Alicia Keys and a very pregnant Padma Lakshmi hosted Keep A Child Alive’s 6th Annual Black Ball last night, entertaining a room full of stars with musical assistance from John Mayer and Chris Martin. Among the celebs in attendance were Usher, David Bowie, Iman, Adrien Grenier, Nick Cannon and Halle Berry, whose sequined, cut-crazy dress fit right in with Spike’s hat. Watch them all hobnob in the gallery below.

Just in case her self-righteousness wasn’t enough to fuel the Gwyneth Paltrow haters, the latest GOOP scoop is that Paltrow and husband Chris Martin have purchased their London neighbor’s home in order to build a massive 33-room house.
The Paltrow-Martins have lived in their current home since 2004 (it was previously owned by Kate Winslet). They acquired their next door neighbors home two years ago but have now begun construction to create the enormous mega-mansion. The new addition will include a garden and play area for the couple’s two children, Apple and Moses, three additional bedrooms, a gym, a changing room and a bathroom. A neighbor said, “It will be a massive house. What they have already is a substantial family home, but to double and add a bit on will make it a real mansion.”
All we can think about in this recent 90-degree heat is how we live in a one-bedroom, one-air conditioner apartment and we shudder to think what their air conditioning bill would be. But who are we kidding? Gwyneth probably has polar ice flown in to cool her home naturally. [Photo: GettyImages]
Poor Coldplay singer Chris Martin. If it wasn’t bad enough having to deal with Gwyneth Paltrow and her GOOP-y lifestyle day in and day out, now he’s being targeted by Noel Gallagher (right) for being too squeaky clean. Gallagher, while speaking to Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra said that drugs are one of the biggest perks of the rock star life.
“I look at Chris Martin who says he has never taken drugs in his life and I think he is an idiot. Doing drugs is the most beautiful thing about being in a rock band.” Hilariously, Gallagher then said, “I stopped because it is bad for your health, brain, life and for people around you.” Before coming clean in 1998, Gallagher reportedly spent nearly two million dollars on drugs. Considering the fact that Gallagher is the poster boy for bad behavior and destructive relationships, we think Martin is doing just fine taking a different path — even if he dresses like Sergeant Pepper sometimes. “It’s too late for advice now,” Simon Cowell ominously responded when Ryan Seacrest asked if any of the judges had a nugget of wisdom for this round of contestants. This week’s performances included a couple of seasoned performers, two single mothers, two high school students, a Norman Gentle, and a guy who has Kate from Jon and Kate Plus 8’s hair, only his is black. (But seriously Adam Lambert, the good news is that dogs across the neighborhood finally got a version of “Satisfaction” that they could hear properly, so thank you, feel free to retire now.)
5. Norman Gentle Rides Again
Much as we want Norman Gentle to stick around, we don’t think he’ll be here forever. As Ryan said after Norman groped the American Idol signage, “That’s the first time a contestant has gone to second base with our logo.” We loved his performance because he basically used the song “And I Am Telling You” to tell us he was not going. We love that as soon as he sang the words “I’m not going,” he knocked on plastic too. Plastic is just as good as wood in Norman’s world. He’s quirky and weird and yes, we agree with Paula that this isn’t the right stage for him, but we’d love to get a few more performances out of the guy to see how far he can get. Also, he called Simon “Sassy-pants.”
Gwyneth Paltrow is apparently doing everything in her power to convince tabloids that she is this close to dumping her husband Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay. She’s doing the usual stuff that most women do to signal a marriage is over: filming a reality show in Spain with fat chef Mario Batali, chilling in Miami for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, and hanging out with billionaire hotelier Jeff Soffer. “Gwyneth doesn’t have anything to do with Victoria’s Secret,” hissed one envious spy. “If things were so great with Chris, why wouldn’t she be with him?” Another added, “she certainly didn’t act like a happily married woman.”
Wow ladies, jealous much? If Gwynnie is thinking of leaving her British hubby, we’d suggest she time the split to happen when he ends things with his band. Chris told the Daily Express that Coldplay is trying to cram as much playing into 2009, as he’s not interested in turning out snoozey hits much longer. “I’m 31 now and I don’t think that bands should keep going past 33,” he said.
Neither should marriages, Chris! [NME. NYP. Photo: GettyImages]
