Congrats, Kat Von D and Deadmau5. After dating since September, and breaking up in November, the electronic musician and legendary tattoo artist are engaged. But we really, really hope that Deadmau5, a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman, was a bit more romantic than meets the eye. As in, we hope he asked her in person before posting this Twitpic:
Woah, we did not see this one coming. We should have, when Deadmau5 posted an entire album on his Facebook page with Kat von D and his cat Meowingtons, (see one of the pictures on the above right), called “a day with the kats” with a big ol’ smiley face attached to it. We thought it was because they were just friends and tattoo aficionados. But then the photograph that you see on the left popped up too, of the two of them walking around West Hollywood yesterday, holding hands. And then a couple of tweets set us completely straight. Deadmau5 — real name Joel Zimmerman — tweeted a gushy, “Yeah, im love… inb4 I find a f— to give over the Internet implodes over it at least I’m happy! Lol.” He followed it by this tweet attached to the photo you see below, “<3 (and no… thats meowingtons on the left… not a hot air balloon.)”
Our spidey sense tells us that these two are going to do quite well together — they seem perfectly matched with their hip, tattooed attitudes. More so, and this is the big one — they look happy. Lord knows Kat needs someone who is not Jesse James! Good luck, you two crazy kids!

It happened, guys. After creeping into the EDM sphere last year and swanning into a relationship with “superstar” Afrojack en route — Paris Hilton finally got her wish and made her debut as a DJ. This happened at Sao Paulo, Brazil’s Pop Music Festival over the weekend and she wore a puzzling black and sequined basque with fingerless gloves and bedazzled headphones for the occasion. Of course she did. She also “played” her new track with Afrojack, Last Night but accidentally cued Rihanna‘s We Found Love, in the beginning, and tried to cover it up by singing. By singing badly, we mean. Of course she did. OF COURSE, she did. Watch it here at your own risk.
Sorry, guys. A little protective about electronic music and while we don’t want to bash someone’s effort, her set was … not very good. We have our video of her pouting over the console busting out some weird dance moves (which we think, she reckons are sexy; they are not) right after the jump so you can see what we’re talking about. And while we don’t want to say too much, because we’ve already cried enough about this, Deadmau5 doesn’t seem to have a problem with sounding off. One tweet read, “AS I WAS SAYING… its over.” He posted a link of one of the videos from her show with his message. Another sarcastically said, “thanks afrojack we appriciate it. we really really do. you are the man. thanks.” Yet another, made it even clearer, reading, “funnily enough, were on our way to go smash the f— out of Paris… no, not that one. FRANCE. that one.” What he said … exactly, what he said. We’re going to go listen to some Richie Hawtin or something to cleanse our palates now. Read more…
These crazy kids. Always flaring up at each other for something. We all know how mad Deadmau5 was at Madonna for getting up on stage at the Ultra Music Festival and saying, “How many people in this crowd have seen Molly?” Molly just happens to be a slang word for MDMA. Which we almost typed as MDNA, Madonna’s new album. Genius marketing! Anywho, Deadmau5 went on a rampage on his Facebook page against, what he perceived to be, her using drug references in conjunction with electronic music — cliche’s he felt needed to broken, not promoted. One of his rants read, “HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???” such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra. quite the f’n philanthropist. but hey, at least yer HIP AND TRENDY! f—g cant smack my head hard enough right now.”
They’re simpatico now. Through a move Madonna made which we thought she’d never make in a million years. She apologized! Madge was on Twitter yesterday answering fan questions when Deadmau5 tweeted her, saying, “You’re a role model to 100’s of millions. You have a powerful voice,EDM could use your positive influence, not “molly” talk.” Madonna replied with the cutesy photograph you see above, with a tweet that said, “lovemau5.” The message on the picture reads” From one mouse to another. I don’t support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song called ‘Have You Seen Molly’ written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my last album …”
Deadmau5 promptly tweeted her back with a conciliatory, “fair enough, i was just voicing my concerns as i usually do. +1 respect for clearing it up personally.” To which Madonna replied, “Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up “privately.” See you on the road.” Right, are we all happy now? No, we’re not. We’re a bit surprised that Madonna kind of kow-towed to Deadmau5. The Queen M of old would have bitten his head off! Look, we’re not supporting any beef between the two. But if you read the Mau5’s FB page, he really ranted against her. It got super ugly and really nazzty. We just think M shouldn’t have rolled over and taken it so meekly. What do you think?

Are you ready to see Paris Hilton behind the console DJ’ing at a club you happen to be, unsuspectingly, grabbing a drink or two at? We’re not sure we want that to happen, because — just no, honey. But if the heiress gets her way, that’s going to become a reality very soon. Paris has apparently been training to become a house music DJ! And part of her research has been tailing top spinmeisters across the globe to learn some tricks. These include top dogs like Afrojack and Deadmau5 who are supposedly, good friends of hers.
The aim is to become the top female house DJ ever because, as a source explains, “no woman has ever taken over in that arena … and she wants to become that person.” She’s also been working on a house music album which she’s pushing to release before the year ends. You guys on board with this?
