The glamorous and gorgeous Jennifer Lopez seems to get more beautiful every day and today she turns 43! We first fell in love with the Bronx beauty as a Fly Girl on In Living Color, and now she’s made her mark on the world as an unstoppable power woman (not to mention, mom of two) and international superstar. She gained recognition starring in tons of movies in the late ’90s and early ’00s including Money Train, Out of Sight, The Wedding Planner and Maid in Manhattan. When her second album, J.Lo, came out, it was #1 on the Billboard charts the same exact week that her film, The Wedding Planner led in the box office. This made her the first person to achieve a #1 film and a #1 album in the same week. We are not worthy, Ms. Lopez. Oh, and did we mention that she is still kicking ass? Even though we’re sad to see her leave American Idol, we’re happy to see that she’s taking the time to focus on her music. She’s super busy packing arenas on her world tour with Enrique Iglesias, but then she’s going take a break from her non-stop schedule to premiere her new video for “Goin’ In” featuring Flo Rida on MTV tomorrow at 7:50 p.m. ET.
For her 43rd birthday, we want to take a look back on her through the years. She’s done so much in the time she’s spent in the spotlight and we’re always looking forward to seeing more from her.

Steven Tyler, we’re going to miss you. We tried to drape our great-grandma in scarves and seat her next to a DVD of Gigli, but it just wasn’t the same. American Idol definitely won’t be the same now that the Aerosmith singer decided not to return as an A.I. judge next season. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez seems to be on the fence about her involvement as well. “I am thinking that maybe it’s time for me to go and do other things that I really love to do,” JLo explained on Today…today. “Like films, and right now I’m on tour and performing — all the things that I do.” Cut to Randy Jackson hurling a chair through his dressing room mirror. Hey, that sounds like something Steven Tyler would do! While no greenrooms got trashed during his tenure (wait, were there any? We probably just didn’t hear about it), the Aerosmith singer did have a lot of insane moments during his tenure on the show. For example…

We’re all getting used to the fact that where Jennifer Lopez is, boyfriend Casper Smart will be too. Which is good, because toy-boy rumors aside, they seem happy. And you know what? Casper should be lucky to have a hottie like J.Lo as a girlfriend. It doesn’t matter that she’s almost two decades older than him — La Lopez is hotter than most 20-year-olds. Having said that, this new haircut of hers is functioning like time travel. It’s so youthful and fun! Jenny’s in Santiago, Chile, right now, where she performed last night as a part of her tour. She was seen getting some downtime with Casper and her twins Max and Emme, working hair that was a couple of inches shorter than her regular ‘do, and far curlier. We love! Also, that jacket she’s wearing that you probably covet? It’s the Moto jacket from her own Jennifer Lopez for Kohl’s collection. You see that smile on Jennifer Lopez’s face up there? That’s the smile of a very, very successful lady. And one whose rise to #1 of Forbes‘ 2012 Celebrity 100 list we could not have imagined two years ago. But joining the judges’ panel on American Idol kicked off a renaissance that earned her $52 million last year, according to the magazine. That includes income from Idol, music sales, endorsement deals with Gilette and L’Oreal, a clothing line at Kohl’s, her new TV show Q’Viva with ex-husband Marc Anthony and this weekend’s new comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting. All that made her shoot from #50 on last year’s list to the top of the heap. The list measures income from entertainment as well as “media visibility,” which explains how J.Lo beat out Oprah Winfrey, who is at #2 though she earned $165 million last year. Justin Bieber, who earned $55 million, is close behind at #3 (and earned the cover story of the magazine), and Rihanna is #4 with $53 million. Last year’s #1, Lady Gaga, slid down to #5 because she didn’t tour much in the last year, the mag’s editors explained.
So, yeah, in case you were still wondering why every pop star in the world is now also a reality show judge, you have your answer. Also, it is unfair that a woman that powerful and rich can simultaneously look this hot in a Vogue spread.

Good to know that one single red carpet can take care of a long-standing premiere dilemma. What length do you wear when attending a film’s red carpet? Do you go full floor-length gown, mid-length or short, cocktail? We suppose it depends on who the star is and the reception of the film, of course, but let’s just make it easier and say that there should be some rules of thumb. And for this, we should thank the ladies of What to Expect When You’re Expecting who made these sartorial go-to’s very clear at the premiere of the film, that went down last night in L.A.
• Don’t: Do not go full-length if you’re planning to wear a somewhat sexed-up version of a maternity gown like Jennifer Lopez. Granted it may be a Maria Lucia Hohan number, and slashed down the front, but it is not a win. That belt will make you look boxy. The sleeves will add volume. You will look awkward.
• Don’t: Do not go full-length if you’re planning to mix prints that clash horribly, like Brooklyn Decker. Considering how tall that girl is, there was a lot of fabric to screw up. Did Brooklyn really have to pick the one bad Giambattista Valli gown ever made? It looks like a flea market maxi that no one wants to buy.
• Do: Do go mid-length if you’re planning to work a silhouette and pattern like Elizabeth Banks. You can tell it’s Alexander McQueen a mile away. Perfect color — delicious burgundy — perfect fit, perfect cutwork pattern. If you can somewhat match this effort …. always wear mid-length.
• Do: Do go short, if you’re planning to go short, sparkly and sweet in Elie Saab, like Anna Kendrick has done here.
• Do: Do go sexy and semi-sheer in Valentino if you’ve got the body and the legs of Cameron Diaz.
See? Wasn’t that easy? You’re welcome!

It’s been said that comedy isn’t pretty, but we’re about to prove them wrong. There’s a gang of lovely ladies hilariously hitting up the big screen this summer, and they look amazing as they do it! We hope you’ve been following our Summer Movie Preview, where we’ve brought you the best of this summer’s cinematic heroes, heroines and villains. But now it’s time to give you the rundown on the women who will make you laugh ’til you cry, or get thrown out of the theater.
First and foremost, we’re expecting huge comedy from What to Expect When You’re Expecting. The film boasts Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick! Mila Kunis is already a comedy legend at the super young age of 28, and we can’t wait to see her she compete with a teddy bear for Mark Wahlberg’s affections in Ted. The greatly anticipated movie sees her collaborates with her Family Guy co-star Seth MacFarlane. Malin Akerman takes us way back to the ’80s as a reporter in Rock of Ages, while Helena Bonham Carter takes us back even further to the ’70s in her husband Tim Burton’s latest film, Dark Shadows.
Jennifer Lopez is being taken to court by one of her ex-employees, for alleged wrongs perpetrated by her manager Benny Medina. The singer’s former driver, Hakob Manoukian, claims that he started working for her and then husband, Marc Anthony back in 2005 and that he was so genius at his job, and got on so well with the couple, that they asked Manoukian to become J.Lo’s Head of Security and Transportation. This meant closing down his own company so he could join her team, of course. The lawsuit also claims that Jennifer and he came to an agreement that his remuneration would hit an excess of $200,000 annually, so it was a big bump up.
So where does Benny Medina fit into this picture? Everywhere, apparently. Manoukian claims that Medina humiliated him all through the time J.Lo was filming What To Expect When You’re Expecting, as the manager and ex-driver ended up spending time together on the job. Medina claims that the man is just a “disgruntled employee who chose to quit,” but Manoukian has more serious allegations. He claims that the manager hated him as he was born in Iraq and made his life hell by yelling at him constantly and made fun of him in front of people and otherwise about the way he dressed.
To add insult to injury, the lawsuit states that Medina was directly responsible for the loss of Hakob’s promotion by making Jennifer take away his security responsibilities According to Hakob, he went back to square one of being just a driver, because of Medina’s interference and now he wants payback. No, seriously. He wants them to pay him back, hence he’s suing for unspecified damages! We don’t get how he can sue Jennifer from any of the stuff allegedly done by Medina, though? Shouldn’t he be suing Medina for that?

All week long, we have been reliving the golden era of hip-hop; specifically, the late ’80s and early ’90s years that Yo! MTV Raps ruled the airwaves. If the nostalgia or the awesomely bad style moments hasn’t convinced you to tune in to tonight’s The 40 Greatest Yo! MTV Rap Moments, perhaps the then and now style evolution of some of your favorite celebrities will. In the most visible transformation, Ice-T traded in his pimp wardrobe for more refined wares. And Salt-N-Pepa retired the spandex (which we kind of loved) in favor of chic dresses.
You can watch the 40 Greatest Yo! MTV Rap Moments special on VH1 tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.
We always forget that Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba got her start the same way Jim Carrey, the Wayans brothers, Jamie Foxx, Rosie Perez, Laurieann Gibson and Jennifer Lopez did, on In Living Color. But Inaba (who also danced on tour with Madonna, was a Japanese pop star and appeared in Austin Powers in Goldmember) reminded us when she appeared at the 2012 TV Land Awards (airing on TV Land April 29), where the Fox sketch show is receiving the Groundbreaking Award. VH1 News couldn’t resist asking if she ever reminisces about the good old days with JLo.
“Actually, we don’t really talk much,” Inaba said. “She’s on that other show called American Idol. And even though American Idol and Dancing With the Stars are right next to each other, we don’t really talk that much. Just kidding, there’s no bad blood.”
Looking back at the style choices of the Yo! MTV Raps era sends us on a trip down memory lane. How cool were overalls in the ’90s? They’ve even tried to make a comeback (to which we plead please, folks, let them die!). Seeing Tupac in his custom made T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E overalls or Bobby Brown with his slanted high top fade reminds us of a time when rap was fun. As cool as these styles seemed then, today they would almost certainly make the what-not-to wear fashion list.
It’s all in good sport that we poke fun at the awesomely bad style moments of the Yo! MTV Raps era. Speaking of which, our two-hour special The 40 Greatest Yo! MTV Raps Moments airs this Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET/PT. In the meantime, reminisce on the styles we loved then and chuckle at now.
