The Kentucky Derby rolled around this weekend and you know what that means…b and c-level celebrities in big hats! While ladies like Jordin Sparks, Paula Patton and Maria Menounos kept things fun, we have to call out three ladies for not quite hitting the right vibe. Miranda Lambert‘s visit doubled as a bachelorette party, so we kind of want to give her green cowboy boots a pass, but Aubrey O’Day has no excuse for traipsing around in “slutty french maid” lingerie (except for the fact that she’s Aubrey O’Day). Meanwhile, Kate Gosselin…ugh. Who hit the most heinous hat note?

As these Jordin Sparks photos confirm, girl is not messing around about looking good all the time now. After taking time out of her busy weekend to post a sick bikini photo, Jordin Sparks stepped out Wednesday night for the Nylon Magazine Young Hollywood Issue party. Not that “Battlefield”-era Sparks didn’t look good (check the video if you need confirmation), but the singer has definitely entered a new hot bracket, and she looks psyched. Jordin’s new single “I Am Woman” dropped today so it makes sense she would be excited to celebrate. Or else she keeps looking at her Twitpics every five seconds. Either way, she’s grinning.
Jordin, we hardly knew ye! Jordin Sparks’ low-cut dress blew our minds at Muhammad Ali‘s Fight Night event last March, but she took it a step further this weekend by tweeting a self-shot bikini pic to her followers. “I don’t know why but my bathing suit reminds me of fruity pebbles,” she cracked. Sparks denied “sucking it in,” but did admit she purchased the top and bottom from different stores. “Werk what we got!” she told a complimentary fan—and Jordin’s definitely werkin’ it.
Jordin Sparks was showing off her slimmed-down bod on the red carpet this weekend, dropping by Muhammad Ali‘s Fight Night concert in a low-cut, black, lace-accented dress with plenty of side-boob. The 21 year old’s working on her third album, so the odds are good we’ll see more flirty fashion like this in the future. Among the performers at the event were fellow Idol champ Kelly Clarkson, Bret Michaels, Reba McEntire and Kevin Costner, who must be trying to bring his country music career back stateside (2010’s Turn It On was only released in Europe). See photos of the show in the gallery below.
Real HousewifeBethenny Frankel wasn’t going to let her baby bump keep her from rocking the runway at the Heart Truth Red Dress Fall 2010 Fashion Show in NY last night. A benefit to raise awareness about women’s heart disease, the gala was a star-studded affair with everyone from Joan Collins to Jordin Sparks to Kim Kardashian strutting their stuff in a series of stylish outfits from different designers. “It’s fun and I love all the different fashion,” said show stealer Heidi Klum. “This is not modeling with a runway walk and a mean face. It’s a different feeling. It’s goofy, funny and you ham it up.” See who else did just that in the gallery below.
Though noticably short on rock stars (Rob Thomas may pass for Steve Perry, but Joel Madden does not pass for Bruce Springsteen), Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie assembled an impressive array of talent for their 25th anniversary re-recording of “We Are The World” Monday night. Among those appearing on the single to benefit Haitian relief efforts are Akon, Will.I.Am, Beach Boys Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, Tony Bennett, Justin Bieber, Toni Braxton, Miley Cyrus, Celine Dion, Jamie Foxx, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Groban, Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson, Keri Hilson,Jennifer Hudson, Enriquie Iglesias, Wyclef Jean, the Jonas Brothers, Kid Cudi, Gladys Knight, LL Cool J, Katharine McPhee, Jason Mraz, Pink, Carlos Santana, Nicole Scherzinger, Snoop Dogg, Jordin Sparks, Barbra Streisand, Usher and Kanye West, who was undoubtedly on his best behavior after that Hope For Haiti snub.
While Lil Wayne has revealed he covered Bob Dylan’s vocal, the full singing order has yet to be revealed (we’re pretty sure Vince Vaughn redid Dan Ackroyd‘s part, though). Check out photos from the recording, which was shot in 3-D for release later this month, in the gallery below.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Divas are in the building! From Miley Cyrus’ twist on the Little Black Dress to Jennifer Hudson shimmering and Leona Lewis‘ lavender and black gown, the VH1 Divas red carpet was anything but boring. Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Adele, and Sheryl Crow hang out and have some fun with VH1 on the red carpet. No two divas are exactly alike, as these songbirds displayed with their very different red carpet choices. Adele went for all black, while Kelly Clarkson put a twist on the little black dress with her feathered shoulder. Jordin’s bejeweled dress shimmered while Leona and Sheryl went for a more regal look: Leona in a lavender gown with black corset and Sheryl in a crushed velvet dress. But Samsung DualView, who is the most fabulously dressed Diva of them all? Adele checks it out for herself by viewing the photos on the Samsung DualView’s front AND back LCD screens: the 1.5 inch front LCD screen and three-inch Touch Screen. Check out this Diva summit in exclusive photos captured by our VH1 blogger with his Samsung DualView camera!
Check out Diva Jordin Sparks hanging out backstage before her big performance. Jordin considers being labeled a “Diva” phenomenal and let us in on a little Diva camaraderie where the Divas share information and she is “always learning tricks from girls I admire.”
