Since they’re known as much for their adorable retro style as for their quirky pop and hip-hop covers, we were excited to get Karmin in front of our cameras for a Style Seen shoot when they stopped by for Big Morning Buzz Live yesterday. Engaged couple Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan are gearing up for the release of their first studio album, Hello, later this month, and already have two singles out and an SNL performance under their belt. But it seems they aren’t blowing all their big-time cash on designer digs just yet: Their style is still as refreshingly accessible as their songs. Check out their wardrobe below.
Dust off your ukeleles, practice your jazz hands and stock up on insulin, because both Zooey Deschanel and Karmin are bringing their bright-eyed adorableness to Saturday Night Live next month. It was announced today that the stage at 30 Rock will feature The New Girl star, the hyper-upbeat YouTube sensations and their eerily similar brand of retro-sweetness on February 11. Meanwhile, Channing Tatum will host the week prior on February 4, though there’s no way he could possibly look as good in a Peter Pan collar and a Bump-It. Well…maybe if he was wearing just a Peter Pan collar and a Bump-It.
The combination of Deschanel’s tweeness and Karmin frontwoman Amy Heidemann‘s infinity smiles makes us more than a little worried that SNL will transform into the Happy Sunshine Glitter Tap Dance Hour (trademark pending) for the night. But would that really be so wrong? Other than the number of hair bows we’ll have to see on a grown woman, would that really be so wrong? Maybe we can get both Zooey and Amy in a I Love Lucy sketch? Amy does mug to the camera like a overcaffeinated brunette Lucille Ball…which would make Zooey Ethel. We don’t mean that as an insult, Zooey. We mean that as an honor.
