Sometimes bad fashion happens to good people. We’re love all the folks who turned up for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, don’t get us wrong. But some showed up in mega fashion fails that simply can’t be ignored. We’re sorry guys, but if you wear a cigarette on your head, you’ve bought yourself a one-way ticket to Snark-City.
Anyone who’s anyone in the movie is attending the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles tonight. The show is not only honoring the best movie moments of the past year, but is also paying tribute to the Comedic Genius Will Ferrell, the Trailblazer Emma Watson, and the MTV Generation Award winner Jamie Foxx. That’s all well and good, but what we REALLY want to know is who showed up on who’s arm to tonight’s ceremony?
A lot of times when we’re browsing the web for entertainment updates, we’ll see something posted under the banner of “BREAKING NEWS” as if it’s super Earth-shakingly important. Sometimes that’s not exactly true, but today it most certainly is! Yes, today is the day that Ke$ha admitted to being filmed while drinking her own urine.
Maybe we’re just easily surprised. Maybe we’re just nostalgic for the days of Sassy. Whatever it is, we were more than delighted to read Ke$ha talk openly with Seventeen about being attracted to both men and women, and to see the magazine print her comments like they’re no big deal. “I don’t love just men. I love people,” the musician revealed. “It’s not about a gender. It’s just about the spirit that exudes from that other person you’re with.” Aw, we love that! Of course Ke$ha’s comments are in fact no big deal, but occasionally people lose their minds about stuff like that. You know what we’re talking about. You live in the same society as we do.
For the past few Decembers we’ve looked forward to doing a round-up of singer/fashion lunatic Lady Gaga’s weirdest and wildest looks from that year. But as we started looking for 2012, we realized a scary fact: Mother Monster has kind of really toned it down lately. Eek! Sure there was some mighty sideboobs every now and then, But that was pretty much the best (or worst) of it. What were we to do!? Who is going to fill the void left by this insane style void? Which celebrity is the rightful heir to Lady Gaga’s crazy fashion throne!? We’ve looked high and low for the rightful successor and came up with a pretty killer list of contenters, from singers like Nicki Minaj and Rihanna to the Vampire Diaries‘ Kat Graham. Over the past year nail art has reached new heights of popularity among celebrities — and regular people too. Stars usually step out on the red carpet with a fresh manicure, but of late, nails have stopped being merely an accessory and have evolved into a focal point. Zooey Deschanel kicked off the year with adorable tuxedo nails at the 2012 Golden Globes and Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Rihanna and Amber Rose have followed suit, stepping up the style on their digits and, for our benefit, documenting their creativity on Instagram and Twitter along the way.

Man, this girl. We know some celebrities make a career out of cringe-inducing overshares, but oh, there is something just so wonderful about the way Ke$ha does it. She makes oversharing into an art form, perhaps because she genuinely seems not to care whether or not people like her for it. We’d say Ke$ha ties with Rihanna for number of effs given (lifetime total: 0), but unfortunately (or really, really fortunately) RiRi isn’t exactly peeing in public all the time. (That we know of, at least.) And we would probably know because she tweets virtually everything.) “My new bf is doing an interview,” Ke$ha tweeted today along with a photo of her man. Now, maybe oversharing is just Ke$ha’s brand, but it’s a brand that never goes out of style.
It was so much fun showing you Katy Perry‘s Top 20 Nail-Art Designs last week. We were inspired to do another round as we’re not quite done showing you fabulous tip tricks, so to speak!
