Harry Potter starlet Bonnie Wright showed up at Jo Malone’s Thoroughly Proper Party in London on Wednesday lacking her long flowing locks. After years of being linked to her character Ginny Weasley with trademark titan tresses, maybe she followed in the footsteps of Emma Watson, who famously cropped her hair as soon as the series ended to get some distance from the franchise. Or she’s just hopping on the short hair band wagon!
It seems like ever A-lister has gotten the urge to hack of the hair this year. Some like Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron and Evangeline Lilly went super short for film roles, whereas former American Idol singer Kellie Pickler got a buzz to support her friend being treated for cancer. And then there are music mama’s like Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys who went short just for the hell of it. Head on down to the gallery below to see 20 lovely ladies who took the hair plunge in 2012!

So much sparkle at the CMA Awards last night! The only person on this best-dressed list who broke the trend was Jennifer Nettles who was beautiful and baby-bumpin’ in a deep, chocolate brown column. Simple, elegant and so very flattering. Kellie Pickler rocked her shaved head in a pale blue flowing Pamella Roland gown, which had a princess train. She paired it with matching and Tacori earrings. We like the fact the fact that the hair is so punk and the gown is so feminine. Adds a nice contrast! Hayden Panettiere — appropriately starring in Nashville — wore a stunning seafoam green Charleston frock by Georges Chakra Couture water and paired it off with a sparkling emerald strappy heels and clutch combination. Unusual choice, but so eye-catching! Martina McBride wore a bronze Grecian overlay gown secured at the waist by a thin gold belt. It complemented her coloring beautifully. Last, but not least, was Taylor Swift who picked a very pretty Jenny Packham gown, which had red sequined flower embellishment scattered all over it, with Jimmy Choos and Neil Lane jewels. Very Taylor! But who was your very best-dressed on this short but sweet list?

We don’t even want to go into the hair. There just aren’t enough hours in the 24/7 news cycle to discuss the half-shaved pink-and-lime studded business sprouting from Avril Lavigne‘s scalp at her Abbey Dawn fashion show in New York last night. Plus we don’t want to have to admit that we kind of like it. What we don’t like, however, is the greasy conjunctivitis-chic Avril chose to smear around her peepers. We guess you’d call it a smokey eye, in as much as our eyes started billowing smoke the second we looked at it. While we’d argue that Avril’s hotness still manages to shine through, that is not the case with these other makeup disasters…

Kellie Pickler did tweet a heads up yesterday, saying, “It’s been a great life-changing day.” Followed by another message that read, “Be sure to watch “Good Morning America” tomorrow morning (Sept 5th). You won’t want to miss this!!!” So we knew something big was coming up, but what exactly, was anyone’e guess. And what emotional, amazing news it turned out to be, as you can see in the video above! Kellie sent a tape to the show of her shaving off her lovely blond hair, which she did in Nashville the day before GMA aired. No, this wasn’t a random, attention-grabbing segment in any way at all. Kellie did so to show support and empathy for her BFF (ever since they were kids), Summer Miller, was was diagnosed with breast cancer in June and starts her chemotherapy today. 35-year-old Miller’s like a “sister” to the singer, who said she wanted to show solidarity with her, as the treatment involves losing hair — so they’d both go through it together, with two shaved heads as opposed to one. Kellie also wanted to talk about cancer detection, and has stated to ABC News, “Cancer does not discriminate,” with Miller adding, “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it.” We couldn’t agree more, and we applaud Kellie for having so much love in her heart. And we’re sending Summer heaps of strength and our best wishes.
Last night at the 2012 CMT Music Awards, Kellie Pickler wore a blush-hued, tiered Herve Leger by Max Azria Spring 2012 with gorgeous fringe detail with a pair or bronze platform Giuseppe Zanotti. The dress has rose-gold metal accents on the low neckline as well at the empire waist. We know this because we’ve had a good look at it — twice. Brandy also wore the same dress at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards a little over two weeks ago! The singer was on our best-dressed list of the night and paired the dress with gold Christian Louboutin “Lady Peep” slingbacks. The question is, whose look do your prefer? Kellie looks really pretty and even kind of wholesome even though the dress has such a plunging neckline. Brandy has more of an edge, giving the ensemble a retro-Diana Ross kind of feel! As always, the power of vote lies with you, so let us know who wins this “Battle of the dress” in the poll below!

The 10 Best-Dressed Ladies At The 2012 Billboard Music Awards
The 2012 CMT Music Awards went down last night at The Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and definitely wasn’t all about country music, sartorially speaking! Of course, country superstars were present. Carrie Underwood rocked a Randi Rahm mini cocktail dress covered in silver paillettes. She also wore a pair of hardcore S&M looking Gio Diev heel along with the outfit. Hillary Scott was sexy in a black Hervé Léger by Max Azria dress and David Webb jewelry while Jordin Sparks looked ethereal in a flowing Kevan Hall gown with Jimmy Choo shoes. Sara Evans also went glam in a draped Julian Joyce Made By Mandalay gunmetal sequin dress.
But, as we said, this wasn’t all about the country ladies. Ashley Greene was also at the event in a lovely pale pink Donna Karan atelier dress with Nicholas Kirkwood shoes. Denise Richards, Jennie Garth and Hayden Panettiere also posed on the red carpet but the best-dressed of the night definitely went to Kristen Bell. She shut it down in a shimmering gold Reem Acra gown with delicate sheer cap sleeves and a pop of red lipstick. We need to see more of that action on Kristen! Take a look at all the fashion in our gallery below.

Happy married life to you, Mrs Jacobs! That would be Kellie Pickler, who just eloped and got married to Kyle Jacobs, her boyfriend of three years. They did it in style too, saying “I do” on a private island in the Caribbean on New Years day. Jacobs had popped the question last year in June.
The newly weds have been living it up and look incredibly happy, with Pickler tweeting, “crAzy about this man” along with this picture taken just yesterday. Pickler tweeted her wedding announcement to the world as well, writing, “Private Island. Caribbean. Cigar in one hand, Rum in the other. Someone just called me “Mrs. Jacobs.”….sounds nice”. Just in case you thought she was kidding around, Kellie also tweeted a clarification explaining, “Yes, it’s true, @kylecjacobs and I said “I Do!” Thank you Jesus!” Amen! Congratulations to the couple.

Since when did kilts get kinky? At the 8th Annual “Dressed To Kilt” charity fashion show, rocker Joan Jett donned door knockers on her buff bodice while Real Housewife of New York Kelly Bensimon obliviously grinned as her nipples peeked out of her plaid corset. The random smattering of kilted celebs on the runway included Al Roker, Mike Myers, a tightly-corseted Kellie Pickler, Donald Trump Jr., and sexy Marcus Schenkenberg. Anything for a good cause, right guys? [Photo: Getty Images, Splash News]

As the photo of Carrie Underwood and her scantily clad back-up dancers suggests, last night’s Country Music Awards wasn’t your daddy’s Country Music Awards, though he might have enjoyed it anyway. The singer, co-hosting with Brad Praisley, wore even more ensembles than she did at the ACM Awards last April, making sure to perform an acoustic duet with Paisley to reaffirm she hasn’t gone full Britney Spears. But it was Taylor Swift who was the big winner, taking home all four of the awards she was nominated for, beating Underwood (who won the last three years) for Best Female Singer and becoming the youngest person to ever win Entertainer Of The Year. Darius Rucker took home New Artist Of The Year, reaffirming that we can’t call him Hootie anymore. The youth revolution may be a short one, though—Shania Twain and Garth Brooks are planning comebacks next year.

Even if she wasn’t enjoying massive success with her music, Carrie Underwood would have earned the Academy Of Country Music’s Entertainer Of The Year award just for the startling number of outfits she wore at the ceremony last night. The showstopper was a gargantuan ballgown that appeared to consume the stage during “I Told You So.” Trying pulling that off, Tim McGraw!
Check out Carrie’s dresses, as well as those worn by LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and others, in the gallery below.
