Lady Antebellum‘s singer Hillary Scott got married to drummer Chris Tyrrell this weekend. The newly hitched couple posted a video on the band’s site in which Chris says, “I’d like to introduce you to Mrs. Hillary Scott Tyrrell.” Hillary adds, “We got married, and we just wanted you to hear it from us first. We love you! We’re so excited to be starting our lives together, and we just had to let you in on the exciting news.” They got married in Upstate New York on Saturday, and Hillary wore a custom Vera Wang strapless mermaid dress and a beautiful mantilla lace veil. The groom wore a very spiffy gray Ermenegildo Zegna suit. Congratulations to the newly weds! We have a bonus picture from the video of her gown after the jump. Read more…
Holy SPF 4. Keith Urban rolled into the Academy of Country Music Awards last night looking more like Snooki than, well, Snooki herself. Wife Nicole Kidman‘s alabaster skin only highlighted his serious tanning bed addiction. Between the straightened hair, the orange skin, the open shirt and the tribal tatt, Keith seems ready to fist pump the night away. No offense Nic – we’re sure he’s sweet and all, but Keith is seriously damaging your A-List cred like whoa.
Other stars spotted on the ACMAs red carpet last night: Taylor Swift looking typically Taylorish, Carrie Underwood in eggplant, that kinda hot Ryan Gosling-ish dude from Lady Antebellum, Julianne Hough and a prom-ready Miranda Lambert. Pics below.
It’s that time of the year already! The 53rd annual Grammy nominations (for 2011) were announced last night and it’s safe to say that Eminem made a clean sweep popping up in 10 categories. Love the Way you Lie is up for Song and Record of the Tear while Recovery has received nominations for Album and Rap Album of the Year. Just for a quick memory jog, remember who was a big winner at last year’s Grammys? Beyonce!
Other big nominees this year include Bruno Mars with seven nominations, and Jay-Z, Lady Gaga and Lady Antebellum with six each. John Legend and B.o.B follow closely with five. Katy Perry, who’s performing for VH1 Divas Salute the Troops (Sunday, Dec. 5, at 9/8c), scored four nominations, including one for Album of the Year for Teenage Dream.
What’s your take on the nominees this year? Did anyone get left out? How many categories will Eminem win? Will Cee Lo get Song of the Year for the genius F— You? Will Gaga’s Fame Monster kick out the other monster albums? Will Justin Bieber get Best New Artist (we love Biebs, but our vote goes to Florence and the Machine).

Unless you were watching the Great American Country Network last night, you probably missed the telethon to benefit flood relief in Nashville. The “Music City Keep On Playin'” benefit featured dozens of stars like Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman, Brad Paisley and the members of Lady Antebellum manning the phone lines and performing to raise money rebuild Nashville after portions of the city were destroyed by flooding two weeks ago. Torrential downpours caused over $1 billion in damage to the city and its inhabitants, and the telethon managed to raise $1.7 million. (To make a $10 donation yourself, you can text “GAC” to 501501.) In the meantime, take a look at our gallery of famous folks using landlines (an unusual sight these days) to help out Music City.

Finalists for the Country Music Television Awards were announced Tuesday morning, and Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum lead the pack with three nominations each.
The country-tinged week of American Idol was a learning experience for us. Since our musical tastes typically run screaming from bands like Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts, we learned that we’re in the minority. These groups are, to quote Randy Jackson, “hot.” They’re all over the Billboard Hot 100 and iTunes charts, and yet this was our first time hearing them. (And since we’re unfamiliar with them anyway, we’re just gonna put it out there that the lead singer for Rascal Flatts looks like what would happen if Ellen DeGeneres mated with Randy Quaid, right?) The country theme was sort of incongruous with the vampire theme of the Ford music video they shot, but hey, at least we didn’t have to endure a group Shania Twain medley. Instead we got ten minutes of Shrek Forever After commercial. On the one hand, ugh, but on the other, God, Puss in Boots with a Spanish accent never gets old for us.
