We totally get it, Demi Moore. If we looked as hot as you do at age 50 and had a hot 26-year-old art dealer boyfriend, we would also be living it up at all the parties going on during Miami’s Art Basel festival. Also, we really love that gray romper you’re wearing. But don’t say we didn’t warn you that the photos taken of you at the Chanel Beachside BBQ celebrating Art.sy at Soho Beach House on Wednesday night are gonna raise a lot of questions.
- If your boyfriend, Vito Schnabel, was at this party, and you were even spotted making out with him there (per E!), why are you hanging all over Lenny Kravitz?
- Is that really just Red Bull that you’re drinking?
- Didn’t you just go to rehab this year?
- Does Zooey Deschanel know you’re trying to steal her adorkable shtick?
But whatever, let us ask those questions. As long as you’re happy and healthy (and not putting on an act or something), you keep doing you.

Considering both Marvin Gaye and Lenny Kravitz helped turn a generation of girls into women with their buttercream voices, it makes sense that the “American Woman” rocker would portray the R&B legend in an upcoming biopic. Britain’s The Standard reports that Kravitz has signed on to director Julian Temple‘s film depicting the last three years of Gaye’s life. This will be Lenny’s first big screen starring role…so thanks to everyone who was obsessed with Cinna in The Hunger Games movie! You done good, kids.
Personally, we can totally see this working. Lenny bares a passing resemblance to Marvin, he can probably wear his own wardrobe and he certainly has the pipes for it. With any luck he’ll be joining Daniel Day Lewis in our 20 Most Crazily Accurate Celebrity Portrayals of Historical Figures gallery in no time. The movie will allegedly depict Gaye’s struggle with alcoholism in London before music promoter Freddy Cousaert intervened and helped him recuperate in Belgium. So…if the film starts in 1981, we’re assuming it includes Gaye’s tragic shooting death at the hands of his own father in 1984? Wow, seventh grade us never thought we’d be rooting for Lenny Kravitz to win the Best Actor oscar. We were too busy rooting he’d somehow be driving through Northeast Ohio and be really into girls with sports goggles. Oh, like we were the only ones!
Politically active celebrities are flocking to the polls in droves today to vote for their 2012 presidential picks, but they’re also taking to twitter to make sure everyone else rocks their right to the big V. While some folks like Donald Trump and Mariah Carey are posting pics of themselves actually doing the deed, others like Eva Longoria and Lady Gaga are simply showing their support for their candidates via tweet. In the weeks leading up to the election we’ve seen some pretty crazy endorsement stunts come out of the Hollywood community. Remember Snoop Dog/Lion’s instagram or Clint Eastwood’s chair? But it seems like today celebrities are leaving the political smashing and bashing behind and just encouraging us all to just get out there and vote it up. So no matter who you’re voting for make sure you get up, get out, and let your voice be heard! But before you hit the polls, take a look at how some of our favorite celebs are spending their Election Day. Find out in the gallery below!
A year ago, we never would have thought we’d be writing about Lenny Kravitz and Wes Bentley in the same sentence. We honestly didn’t expect to be writing much about them at all, frankly. The superstar status Kravitz earned in the ’90s and early ’00s had calmed considerably, and Bentley never lived up to the next-big-thing hype he earned in American Beauty. But behold the miracle of The Hunger Games. Their brief but pivotal roles as stylist Cinna and Head Gamemaker Seneca Crane have made them the focus of a whole lot of attention, from teenage girls as much as a mature audience that appreciates their comeback.
If you’ve read Catching Fire, the Hunger Games sequel, you’ll know that Lenny and Wes’ characters have more in common than meets the eye, and they’ve got to be looking forward to their bigger roles in that film. So are we, of course. But for now, we’re going to look back, and try to determine which of these Capitol citizens is hotter. Peruse our little selection of photos and then vote! Poll closes at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.

As avid fans of Suzanne Collins‘ work, we’ve been holding our breath about whatever changes have inevitably made to adapt The Hunger Games for the big screen. Of course, the changes are necessary, but will they be the right changes? The new clip out on Yahoo!, featuring Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Cinna’s (Lenny Kravitz) first meeting, is a promising indication of how the adaptation works.
In the book, Katniss gradually explains to readers the history of the games, how the opening ceremonies work, with the tributes representing the “flavor” of their district, and how humiliating District 12’s coal miner costumes normally are. We’re inside her head as she braces herself for more of the same, “It’s always dreadful and does nothing to win favor with the crowd. I prepare myself for the worst.”
Thankfully, screenwriter Simon Beaufoy and director Gary Ross chose not to use a whole bunch of Katniss voiceover in this movie. Read more…
Lenny Kravitz was his usual charming self in his interview for today’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, and we got a little bit giddy when she asked about stories that everyone often congregated in his hotel room after the day’s shooting of The Hunger Games.
“That did happen; my room became ‘after hours,’ ” said Kravitz, who plays more-than-meets-the-eye stylist Cinna. “I was rehearsing for the world tour at the same time. … They listened to me play music. I had the wardrobe for the tour — there were racks of clothing everywhere, and Woody Harrelson would try out all my clothes and parade around the room.” Read more…
You would think that a bunch of stars showed up in Indianapolis to watch the Super Bowl last night, and you would be right. We spotted a fair amount of them thanks to Twitter. Jessica Simpson, Lenny Kravitz and Rosie O’Donnell all tweeted photographs of themselves at the game. Husband-and-wife duo, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton sang “America the Beautiful” right before kick-off. Seal was out with his camera. And after her pregame concert, you couldn’t miss Katy Perry either with her blue hair and crazy mismatched outfit (her shoes were different colors). And of course, Gisele Bundchen was there to console husband Tom Brady after his team lost. Check out all the photographs in our gallery below.

Rolling Stone has just posted the above brand-new Hunger Games photo, featuring Cinna and Katniss’ last moment together before she enters the arena, making us almost Kristen-Bell-sloth-level excited that there’s only 50 days (and a few hours) before the movie is out. It’s the kind of quiet scene that could be screwed up in a movie adaptation that’s filled with all that action and drama, but we think Gary Ross, Jennifer Lawrence and Lenny Kravitz just might get it right. Especially when we hear Lenny describe his character to RS: “He’s very streamlined, he’s very quiet. He knows what he’s doing. He’s confident. He’s got a big heart. I just liked the way he moved — very smooth.”
The rocker reveals that he took the role because he admired Suzanne Collins’ storytelling in the book. “I’m very much into stories. The character was interesting. I like Gary’s previous work. And I said, Yeah, let’s go.”

Here’s how The Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen describes the most famous piece of clothing since Bella’s wedding gown: “A few hours later, I am dressed in what will either be the most sensational or the deadliest costume in the opening ceremonies. I’m in a simple black unitard that covers me from ankle to neck. Shiny leather boots lace up to my knees.”
Now, over at EW.com, you can see how Gary Ross and company have turned Suzanne Collins’ words into reality in an exclusive pic of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Lenny Kravitz. So far, so good, right? But there are a few things missing from the rest of her description:
Lionsgate has done all of us a heavy and released a mostly fresh batch of The Hunger Games stills to ogle. While the countdown to March 23 continues, we’re pretty much champing at the bit to get out hands on it, so we’re excited about the “new” photos Lionsgate released this week, even if we’re pretty sure we’ve seen them all before. There are some photos that were previously exclusives with other magazines and sites, like the one of Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket with Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen in a scene that we know is going to make us bawl — when Katniss volunteers herself instead of Rue — as well as one of Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson and Josh Hutcherson as Cinna, Haymitch and Peeta discussing strategy, and a behind-the-scenes shot of Jennifer in the forest. There are also stills of what we’ve seen in the trailer, such as the one of Amandla Stenberg as Rue, warrior Katniss holding a bow, and Katniss and Liam Hemsworth‘s Gale in the meadow and the one we included above, of Katniss being led to the arena. But yeah, so what if it’s all familiar territory? We don’t want the whole darn movie spoiled for us!
