Jennifer Lopez celebrated her new memoir True Love at New York’s 92nd Street Y on Thursday night, but the powerhouse couldn’t stress enough that when it comes to her ex-fiancé Ben Affleck, she is Beyond. Over. It. Seriously, it was so 2004. She admits calling off their engagement was her “first big heartbreak,” but there is so much more to her story. “There was one line about Ben, and it’s the one everybody wanted to know about,” she said. So let’s all move on, shall we?
Election fever is starting to go full tilt as we cruise into fall, and celebs of all stripes have put in appearances at the national political conventions to show their support for their favorite presidential candidate! Democrats seemed to have the hotties in their corner, with appearances from Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria. Yeah, we all know about how most of Hollywood are Democrats (insert evil liberal media bias conspiracy argument here). But what can we say, the pictures speak for themselves! We also have some rap and R&B artists like Common, will.i.am and Mary J. Blige bringing the noise and the funk for Barack Obama. Even U.S. Gynmastic sweetheart Gabby Douglas got in on the red, white and blue fun!
Say what you will about their politics, but the Republican National Convention definitely rocked the hardest of the two. Mitt Romney and the gang had a hand from freakin’ Journey! But that’s not all. Axe-men from 3 Doors Down, Lynyrd Skynyrd shredded their strings for the GOP, and Kid Rock, Trace Adkins and Taylor Hicks also showed up to belt a few tunes. Plus, who could forget Clint Eastwood and his incredible empty chair? Head to the gallery below to check out all the famous folks who have made their voices heard at the national political conferences!

We actually forgot that these two were still married! Considering that Jennifer Lopez is cavorting with Casper Smart and Marc Anthony has Shannon de Lima, do you blame us? But the truth is that JLo and Marc did announce their plans to divorce last July, and while it’s taken them a while to actually get there, it’s finally becoming official. Marc filed his divorce papers earlier this week at the Los Angeles Superior Court. The date when the split will actually be legal is as “yet to be determined.”
The two main details of the divorce have been made public, though. He’s asking for joint legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old twins Max and Emme, and should J.Lo ask for spousal support, he’s asking for it to be denied. Both parties have been doing quite well since the separation, and seem quite happy with their respective new partners. We don’t see this getting acrimonious in any way. But it’s still sad. We actually thought they were quite sweet together.

If you think that Jennifer Lopez is the only one newly separated and having a blast, then think again. Her ex, Marc Anthony, is doing exactly the same. While J.Lo is with Caspar Smart, news has emerged that Marc is dating a gorgeous, 24-year-old Venezuelan model named Shannon de Lima. In fact, the photograph you see above is of them, and Marc posted it on his own Facebook page. The singer also just tweeted his new main squeeze yesterday writing, “A mi Shadelima mi estatua de libertad. Besos bebe,” which translates to, “To my Shadelima, my statue of liberty. Kisses, baby.” We’d say this wasn’t just a rumor. Interestingly enough, both Casper and Shannon are the same age: 24. Do we see a competition happening?

Love never dies, but it sure took a battering this year! Celebrity couples of every age and stripe dropped like flies in 2011! From long-term unions like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, all the way down to the ones that can be measured in a television season (*cough* Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries *cough*), Hollywood could have used a giant couples’ therapy session. There were affairs, secret children, super fights, Twitter drama, ugly court cases and sometimes all of those combined. For these couples it wasn’t domestic bliss but domestic blitz! But don’t feel bad if you’ve made the list, guys. Just think of it as a giant singles ad. (You’re welcome!)
As the great philosopher Pat Benatar once said, “Love is a battlefield.” Check out some of this year’s casualties of Cupid in the gallery below. It’s truly a star-studded cast, with Marc Anthony and J.Lo, George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis, Demi and Ashton and oh so many more. Pick up your crazy hearts and try again in ’12, folks!

How’s this for best Christmas present ever? It seems like  Marc Anthony is gunning for a ‘Boss of the Year’ award and he’s probably going to get it. The singer surprised his entire staff — that’s 14 people — with an all expenses paid trip to the Dominican Republic. That’s like … Oprah! Apparently, he wanted to treat them for all their work and it was a very big thank you considering he took them for five days to the La Romana resort, where everything was free for each member of his team. They also went and spent quality time with children at the Niños de Cristo orphanage, which he also arranged. That’s pretty generous of Marc. ‘Boss of the Year’ for sure!
The 2011 Latin Grammys were held at the Mandalay Bar Resort and Casino in Las Vegas last night. And it seems that sequins and metallics were the order of the night. Zoe Saldana wore an emerald green column by Elie Saab (à la Gwyneth Paltrow at the Bambi awards, but minus the cleavage). Shakira — who was honored as the Person of the Year — looked ethereal in a gold embroidered gown with a jewel-encrusted bodice, while Sofia Vergara wore a silver strapless gown by Reem Acra. Paulina Rubio wore two outfits and both were heavy on the hardware. She wore a metallic silver gown on the green carpet, and put on a violet (with gold highlights) short, skintight romper to perform in.
The only one who didn’t get the memo was Demi Lovato, but she outshone everyone regardless in a plum gown that plunged down to her navel. It nearly popped our eyeballs. Muy caliente! Also, the color Demi wore matched Wilmer Valderrama’s shirt. Cue eyebrow raising. Our gallery below has all the action, including gentlemen like Marc Anthony, Pitbull, Usher and Taboo.

The always opinionated Wendy Williams chatted with VH1 News’ Janell Snowden at the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards last night, where Jennifer Lopez was honored. Williams, no stranger to relationship drama herself, told us that she thinks J.Lo and her ex-hubby Marc Anthony will be back together in 10 years. “I like them as a couple,” she said.
But what about Jen’s rumored fling with the sexy Bradley Cooper, he of the hot, slicked-back hair? “Oh, he doesn’t want her!” she sassed. “She’s got two kids, she’s in her 40s. I think that he’s using her like she’s using him, for pictures and press and pop culture.”
Which Wendy is OK with, of course. “That’s fine,” she told us. “But what 30-something year-old man wants a 40-something year-old woman with two kids and an ex-husband with a machete in the bushes?”
Er, well when you put it that way…
We’re feeling a bit awful for Jennifer Lopez. The singer burst into tears onstage at her headlining appearance at Mohegan Sun’s 15th anniversary celebration on Saturday night in Connecticut. J.Lo set the mood by singing an acoustic version of “If You Had My Love” after which she told the crowd, “I’m going to sing you the last song I wrote about love. A lot has changed since then.” What followed was an extremely dramatic rendition of “Until It Beats No More.”
Jennifer sang the song while dancers who looked like her exes — Ben Affleck, Cris Judd and Diddy — danced with J.Lo lookalikes. It was rather obvious that the singer was trying to re-create her romantic journey with all the men in her life — the “J.Lo” figure even wore that infamous Versace slit-to-the-navel gown while with the Diddy dancer, just like Jenny did at the 2000 Grammys. It ended with a final spotlight dance which was almost exactly like what Lopez and Marc Anthony performed on American Idol. Read more…
Vanity Fair have got Jennifer Lopez‘s first interview since her split with husband Marc Anthony for their September issue. More importantly, they’ve got her on the cover and inside the magazine looking ridiculously caliente! Of her relationship with Marc she reveals, “I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic — and we did. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”
She doesn’t directly address why exactly they broke up but she does talk about where she’s coming from even after a couple of failed marriages behind her. Jennifer told the magazine, “I’m a hopeless romantic and passionate person when it comes to love. It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself—if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now.” It’s good to hear her speaking out finally but we’re not going to lie to you, we want the deets. We’re still wondering what went wrong!
