Another year, and another season of American Idol has run its course. But before we tell you who the Season 11 winner is, we wanted to discuss who turned up for the results show. As expected, AI alumni swarmed. One of the most famous of this group is Carrie Underwood, who arrived looking super glam in Badgley Mischka along with her husband, Mike Fisher. Jordin Sparks looked lovely in white, along with Jason Derulo. Taylor Hicks, Fantasia, Pia Toscano, Haley Reinhart and a fair few posed on the carpet too. It was a particularly special night for two past Idol-ers. Remember Ace Young and Diana Degarmo? Well, they’ve been dating for some time now, and he actually proposed to her onstage at the show! She said yes, of course. We were also correct in assuming that Rihanna would have dreadlocks while performing, because that’s precisely the look she rocked while singing “Where Have You Been.”
Apart from the American Idol family, a few other familiar faces did pop up as well, to watch. Janice Dickinson, Jane Lynch, Melora Hardin, Chaka Khan, Julianne Hough and Jane Seymour were all spotted. But no matter who was in the audience, the night, quite rightly, belonged to the two final contestants — Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez. Who won the show? We’ve got the gallery of celebrities followed right by the jump, that’ll take you to the answer!
How perfect would it have been if his lady’s name was Caroline? No worries — doesn’t make this announcement any less sweet! Neil Diamond is engaged to his co-manager Katie McNeil! The happy news comes straight from the singer himself. Neil tweeted this adorable message writing, “Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you’re the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well”.
If that wasn’t the nicest way to tell people — he followed up with another tweet that made us all go “awww”! Neil’s next tweet was, “I’d like you to meet Katie. I’m lovestruck. I took this photo in London last month” with a picture of his blonde, smiling lady love. We wish the two of them much luck and our congratulations!

The 2011 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, gave is some pretty awesome moments on air, even though the carpet fashion was lacking. We have to give props to
Senor Chang Ken Jeong for having the ability to humiliate himself on stage for laughs! But everything anyone did at the show—including Beyonce performing a very sexy “Run the World (Girls)”—was overshadowed by Britney Spears. Brit-Brit had some help on stage in creating two incredibly memorable performances. The first was with Rihanna on a remix of S&M which kicked off the awards. The second was with Nicki Minaj on “Till The World Ends,” after Minaj sang “Super Bass.” Badass!
That was just the beginning. The Billboard stage saw the likes of U2, Neil Diamond, Mary J. Blige and cutie Justin Bieber (in a very Vegas-esque golden tux) come on. Bono and gang were on hand to receive the Touring award while Neil accepted the Billboard Icon award (he also sang “Sweet Caroline” and “America” before receiving the trophy). The Biebs won the Billboard.com Fan Favorite Award and the Top New Artist Award but how about that kiss with Selena Gomez, huh?
Ri-Ri took home the Radio Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year while Taylor Swift (in a trademark sparkly gown) accepted the Billboard 200 Artist of the Year and Country Artist of the Year. Beyonce was feted with a video montage that featured Barbra Streisand, Bono, Stevie Wonder and Michelle Obama while receiving the Billboard Millennium Award.
