Christina Aguilera, Jordin Sparks, Gwen Stefani: Fashion Fails At The American Music Awards

Worst-Dressed At 2012 American Music Awards

How we wish these three ladies could have been on the best-dressed list at the 2012 American Music Awards instead. You can check out all our coverage on VH1 Tuner as well. We’re sad to include this trio here, but we have to be honest: These looks really tanked. We’ll start with Christina Aguilera. She has such a pretty face, so we can’t understand why she has to ladle on so much makeup? We want to scrub her face with a sponge! The Pamela Roland gown she wore in white and shades of purple looked far too tight, even though it was supposed to be draped, and her Jimmy Choo heels were too clunky and by far the wrong choice for this. It also kills us that Gwen Stefani‘s Balmain Fall 2012 black velvet embellished blazer fit so badly! She wore the jacket with leather pants and a black bralet and it just didn’t work at all because the Balmain outweighed everything else. Except her face, which looked gorgeous. Lastly, we applaud Jordin Sparks for trying to pull off something as avant-garde as this net and patchwork Etro Fall 2012 gown, but it wore her instead. It requires some experience and sartorial savvy to wear something like this, and while Jordin is getting there, she isn’t quite at the level yet. Better luck next time for all. We know these three have a lot more in them!

Happy 43rd Birthday Gwen Stefani! Celebrate With Her 25 Most Ab-Tastic Looks

Gwen Stefani is just a girl…with absolutely fantastic abs. Ok, she’s obviously a lot more than that. But seriously, she’s got one of the all-time great six-packs. And now that she’s back with the triumphant return of her band, there’s No Doubt that we’re going to be seeing them a LOT more (see what we did there?). 2012 has been a huge year for the platinum blonde rocker and mother of two. She made her long-awaited return to music after six years with No Doubt’s new record Push And Shove, giving the world a badly needed dose of ska-pop. But that’s not even the half of it! The first lady of Harijuku hosted a fundraiser with first lady of the United States Michelle Obama in August, and last month she hit up the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas along side P!nk. But despite her busy schedule, she’s apparently still found enough time to do approximately 8 thousand crunches and sit-ups day, because that’s what it has to take to get her washboard looking so fine. So in honor of Gwen’s 43rd birthday, we’ve assembled her 25 most Ab-Tastic looks of all time. Head down to the gallery below and take a look!

Gwen Stefani Donates $1 Million Towards Japan Relief

Amazing! It’s so heartening to see people not only talking about doing good, but actually acting upon it. We have so much respect for Gwen Stefani who just donated $1 million towards Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund. She’s following the footsteps of both Sandra Bullock who gave $1 million to the Red Cross and Demi Lovato, who matched the amount.

Gwen spoke about her love for the country —harking back to her Harajuku Girls phase — saying, “I’ve been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture. The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking, and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.” She’s not stopping their either. Gwen’s also offering a limited edition Harajuku Lovers T-shirt on the official No Doubt site. All the money made off the T-shirt will go towards relief efforts. This really is inspiring. It’s always great to see people give back.

Beyonce Out-Glams Nicole

We’re so used to seeing photos of Nicole Scherzinger look honed, gorgeous and pop-star glamorous, that it’s easy to forget she can look pretty normal sometimes. Well, whenever she stands next to Beyonce Knowles, that is (although we think that would affect 99.9% of us the same way).

The two divas met up at the F1 Rocks event in Singapore over the weekend, which saw performances from No Doubt, N*E*R*D, Black Eyed Peas and Bey herself, hosted by Lindsay Lohan. Hanging out at a meet and greet with Nicole and her F1 boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, Beyonce looked super hot with her red lipstick and custom-made F1 outfit, putting Nicole and her asymmetric white dress  in the shade.

It’s a stark reminder we should stop watching the Single Ladies video with envy. Because no one, not even another stunning popstar, can compete with Sasha Fierce. [Photo: Getty Images]

Gwen Stefani Makeover: Fab Or Fail?

When No Doubt first exploded onto the music scene in 1995, leader singer Gwen Stefani flaunted a fashion sense that was part punk, part ska, a bit hip-hop and totally her own. She sported henna tattoos on her hands and rocked bindis in between her eyes, with her pink hair twisted in a mound of knots on her head. She made a name for herself for singing her heart out while bouncing around onstage and for flaunting her ripped abs every chance she got.

After a bout with braces brought her fabulousness to a stand-still, Gwen transformed from a rocker chick to super chic. She released a hit solo album that celebrated her obsession with Japan’s fashion freaks, the harajuku girls, and launched her still successful clothing line, L.A.M.B. Even though Gwen’s current look is more SoHo than SoCal, her style remains strictly her own.
