Oasis’ Noel Gallagher Starts Random Beef With Katie Holmes

Hot celebrity beef, coming right up! Given the ratings earned by her new film Jack and Jill this weekend, Katie Holmes is probably already having a rough couple of days. So why not sprinkle a fight with Oasis’ Noel Gallagher on top to really make things extra special? “We literally bumped into that top Scientologist Katie Holmes on the way into the studio. We came out of the lift and BANG, there she was,” Gallagher posted on his blog, after spotting the actress on the way out of a David Letterman taping. Mentioning Katie’s religion right before complaning about her? Let us check on the beef, because we think it’s almost ready to get served.

Noel proceeded to air Katie out, ranting that she seemed peeved that his friend was taping her. “She did look a bit miffed at the various North-West accents and some vigorous handshaking, but there was no need to send one of her people over to demand the video be deleted!!!!” Gallagher whined. “Un-fuckin’-believable.” Now that Oasis is defunct, we’re assuming Noel just wanders the earth until he physically plows into another famous person to fight. How else can you explain why this run-in turn into a show down? How else can you explain Noel’s brief feud with Jay-Z? The man craves beef, and beef he shall have!

Noel Gallagher Thinks Chris Martin Should Do Some Drugs

chris-martin-noel-gallagher

Poor Coldplay singer Chris Martin. If it wasn’t bad enough having to deal with Gwyneth Paltrow and her GOOP-y lifestyle day in and day out, now he’s being targeted by Noel Gallagher (right) for being too squeaky clean. Gallagher, while speaking to Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra said that drugs are one of the biggest perks of the rock star life.

“I look at Chris Martin who says he has never taken drugs in his life and I think he is an idiot. Doing drugs is the most beautiful thing about being in a rock band.” Hilariously, Gallagher then said, “I stopped because it is bad for your health, brain, life and for people around you.” Before coming clean in 1998, Gallagher reportedly spent nearly two million dollars on drugs.  Considering the fact that Gallagher is the poster boy for bad behavior and destructive relationships, we think Martin is doing just fine taking a different path — even if he dresses like Sergeant Pepper sometimes. Rap beefs can originate anywhere, from a subtle slight to a full-on threat. Sometimes they’re funny, sometimes they’re tragic, and sometimes they’re just plain weird. Here, from old-school word wars to semi-automatic shootouts, we count down the ten biggest feuds in rap history. Click into the gallery below to begin. [Photos: Getty Images]

With Forthcoming Album, Jay-Z Reignites Beef With Oasis Leader

Someone give these two their own Odd Couple show already. Jay-Z and OasisNoel Gallagher have been at each other for months now and it’s anyone’s guess how it will end up. The original dispute began when Gallagher voiced his opinion that Jay shouldn’t play the Glastonbury Festival. After a guitar-playing Jay-Z blew the roof off at fest (too bad the YouTube clip was removed!), the two traded barbs. And the beef ain’t over: Leaked snippets from Jay’s forthcoming album reveal that he’s upping the ante. Read our timeline for specifics.

April 14, 2008 — Gallagher tells BBC News that the Glastonbury Festival’s choice to book Jay-Z as a headliner was a poor one. “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If you start to break it then people aren’t going to go. I’m sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go ‘Kylie Minogue?’ I don’t know about it. But I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.”

June 28 — Jay-Z performs the Oasis song “Wonderwall” at Glastonbury in mock tribute to his now-nemesis in front of 75,000 fans, adding “My name is Jay-Z and I’m pretty fucking awesome.”
