SPICE UP YOUR LIFE! Sorry, guys. We really did get excited seeing the Spice Girls reunited while performing at the amazing spectacle that was the Olympics Closing Ceremony yesterday (or this morning, depends on what part of the world you’re in.) Especially went whizzing around in those cool, lit-up minis! And they weren’t the only ones we squeed at. The whole playlist of sorts had moments we were giddy about. How about Take That? We used to swoon over them back in the day, and seeing them together brought back all those memories. We only wish that Robbie Williams had joined them, but we’ll take what we can get. We got One Direction for the swooning-in-this-day-and-age, so we’re all good! George Michael busting out moves was awesome — did you sing Freedom out aloud too? And how about them supermodels, huh? All in glittering gold gowns. Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Karen Elson and the rest of the finest of the Brit fashion crop did make a huge impression.
We have to say that Fatboy Slim busting out Rockerfella Skank was a massive moment for us too. Acid house at the Olympics? Yes, please! And while we’re at it — what did you think of Russell Brand‘s performance? We love him, so we were more than happy to see him up there. More than anything, his inclusion showed just how much thought the organizers put into this ceremony. They tried to be together everything quintessentially British — fashion, comedians, music, dancing — and we think they totally succeeded. Look through our gallery to have a look at who else we were excited to see, and let us know if you agree!

We here at VH1 Celebrity pride ourselves on the fact that we are equal opportunity oglers. Of course, the paparazzi aren’t as egalitarian, so when we went about putting together today’s Bikini Awards contest, the Mankinis (sorry, but we promise no Speedos), we had a much more limited selection. Photographers were on hand to capture the likes of Joe Manganiello, Channing Tatum, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles and Shemar Moore, but they really didn’t present the sheer quantity of angles and attention to detail as they did for, say, Adriana Lima. But through our hard work and perseverance, we made sure to bring you the best of the man flesh on display, including three meaty servings from the Jersey Shore, the always shapely form of Mark Wahlberg, the unwaxed masterpiece that is Hugh Jackman, One Direction’s delicious Liam and Louis, and the deceptively sweet-faced James Marsden and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Ogle away, and then vote for your favorite. Polls close July 15 at 11 p.m. ET!

Demi Lovato, we know we’re not your mom, or your sister, or one of your roommates, but despite that extremely obvious fact, we have still somehow seen you in your unmentionables more than if we had actually shared a bathroom with you. Do you ever think about that? Salacious Tyler Shields photos aside, we’ve seen your personal business with a frequency we never could have planned or wanted, and now we hear you might allegedly be dating One Direction‘s Niall Horan via Skype? We’re not telling you how to live your life, we’re just saying…maybe ease into the exchange of electronic salaciousness a little more slowly this time. What would even call sexiness on Skype? Skexing? Typting?
“We’ve spoken alright, yeah… So, I got in contact with her, she’s really nice,” Horan revealed during On Air With Ryan Seacrest today. “Um, I don’t know what’s going to happen.” Nothing that will remain permanently on the internet, we hope! Niall also admitted that you two have been chatting long distance via Skype, saying, “She’s a cool girl.” Did you know you can record Skype video? That seems like a disaster waiting to happen. No, we weren’t saying that as a suggestion, Demi…Demi! Get back here with that head set!

Is there anything in the world more beautiful than a boy band? The gel-heavy hairdos. The choreographed moves. The matching outfits (so often suits, so often made of leather). The cuddly, goofy photo ops. Being in a boy band isn’t just a job, it’s an art form. As someone who once cried in the middle of 40,000 screaming girls when Donnie Wahlberg sang “Cover Girl,” seeing them perform live can be a life-changing experience. (NKOTB 4ever.)
Our friends over at MTV are honoring this special species of man music with their Battle of the Boy Bands, and the final round of voting begins today. In honor of the competition we’ve selected the best photos of the best boy bands of the past 20 years for you to swoon/LOL/and get nostalgic over. Be sure to view the pics while listening to our boy band playlist, featuring some of our favorite boy band jams.
To be fair, the guys of One Direction are between 18 and 21, and drinking beer in these photos, but we’re still torn on whether we call them cutie patooties or hottie patotties. “One Thing” we know (see what we did there?!), is that between their energetic, infectious performances on SNL and these playful shots from Sydney Harbour, we’re a hop, skip and a jump from printing out these photos and taping them all over our cubicles Tiger Beat style. Whether you’re a sucker for Louis Tomlinson‘s smile [raises hand] or Harry Styles‘ serious six pack, the boys of 1D generously provided today’s eye candy. Enjoy!
