We’re sorry we’ve been ignoring Fashion Week this time around. The shows in Paris are in full swing and we thought mid-week would be a nice time to do a little round-up. Because where there is couture, there are celebrities. All vying for front-row, of course. We’ve gathered the top six stars visiting, because they were either, super well-dressed or, stuck out like sore thumbs. We’re talking about you, Rita Ora. That’s what the singer wore to the Chanel Spring-Summer 2012 shows. With Alexander Wang leather lace up boots. Not particularly politically correct, Rita. Kim Kardashian decided to channel a very chic Parisienne at the Stephane Rolland show, while Jessica Alba‘s chic little outfit and bright coral lipstick made us smile at Christian Dior.
Rounding up this sartorial crew are Salma Hayek, Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike. We’re in love with Salma’s Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 collection claret dress worn, where else, but to the Valli couture showing. Diane pushed the boundaries as usual at the Chanel showing, looking like a French schoolgirl, while Rosamund’s sunny smile and enviable boots were the talk of fashionistas at Dior. Folks are really trying to make that “Rita Whora” nickname stick! The dust has barely settled from Rob Kardashian’s Twitter tirade against ex-girlfriend Rita Ora and now the singer is facing more unkind accusations. British reality show star Holly Hagan of Geordie Shore is making claims that Rita had an affair with her Roc Nation mentor Jay-Z. “I’ve been told to say that Rita ora has been ALLEGEDLY bukin jay z! I repeat ALLEDGELY [sic],” she wrote to her Twitter on Wednesday. “Apparently beyonce is denying claims… But if I gt cheated on I’d also deny it #embarrassin.”
The posts have (naturally) since been deleted, but it hasn’t stopped the white-hot fallout from Ora herself. “I stayed silent on one bulls–t rumour but this one I have to speak,” she responded in followup tweets that also have since been deleted. “Neva eva will any1 includin a red head dum z listin attention seekin whore try talk s–t about me& my family holly wateva da f-k ur name is.” It took us a minute to decode all that, but we gather that she seems pretty pissed.
For the past few Decembers we’ve looked forward to doing a round-up of singer/fashion lunatic Lady Gaga’s weirdest and wildest looks from that year. But as we started looking for 2012, we realized a scary fact: Mother Monster has kind of really toned it down lately. Eek! Sure there was some mighty sideboobs every now and then, But that was pretty much the best (or worst) of it. What were we to do!? Who is going to fill the void left by this insane style void? Which celebrity is the rightful heir to Lady Gaga’s crazy fashion throne!? We’ve looked high and low for the rightful successor and came up with a pretty killer list of contenters, from singers like Nicki Minaj and Rihanna to the Vampire Diaries‘ Kat Graham. We’re not suggesting they’re doing this on purpose, mind you, but yeah, sometimes it’s a little too obvious that the rich and beautiful have wayyyy better holidays than we do. We’re stuck freezing our butts off at home, or numbing our butts off as we wait in airports going to and from relatives’ homes, while they’re showing off their perfectly toned butts in tiny bikinis in Hawaii. OK, rant off. Instead, we will ring in the new year by vicariously enjoying how hot Brandy looks in Hawaii right after announcing her engagement; what incredible bodies Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have, how happy Sofia Vergara looks on that boat, how comfortable Jessica Simpson is with her second pregnancy cleave, how the sun loves Rita Ora by the pool, how naughty Rihanna is in that photo we can’t post here and how nice in the one we can … Well, just check these all out for yourself. And if you find yourself feeling bitter again, just remember that they probably can’t indulge in that second glass of eggnog like you can.

2012! The year of The (supposed) Apocalypse. The year of “Call Me Maybe” (which may be related to the Apocalypse, who really knows?). And, finally, the year of a few ill-fated celebrity hookups. Let’s face it, we’ve all seen a couple of real fashion doozies this year. Whether they were at any one of the major award ceremonies, premieres or just disasters spotted on the street, our celebrities have made some grade-A worst-dressed choices in 2012. As always, as we look back at it all, we thought we would compile said bad sartorial decisions into one big, bad list. A top 20, to be precise. 20. Jennifer Lawrence: We’re so sad that Jennifer is on this list, but her blue, swirl-printed, boob-squishing, shiny Viktor & Rolf dress worn at the People’s Choice Awards gave us a headache.
19. Jessica Chastain: Jessica Chastain is such a beautiful woman but this Prabal Gurung dress, worn at the CFDA Fashion Awards was anything but fashionable on her. It also completely washed her out.
18. Elle Fanning: She may be young, but she’s a total fashionista. So when Elle wore this random Prada mess with those strange platforms by the same brand, to the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere in L.A. it broke our hearts.
17. Nelly Furtado: The brand of the dress was right — Alberta Ferretti — but the fit was all wrong, as was the crochet, on Nelly Furtado at the Billboard Music Awards.
16. Kourtney Kardashian: A TURBAN? Seriously, Kourtney?
15. LeAnn Rimes: This is one of our least favorite Stella McCartney designs ever, and LeAnn didn’t make it any better by pairing them with those grey shoes at the America Country Music Awards.
14. Chloe Sevigny: This Miu Miu dress worn to the Met Ball felt like a fashion experiment gone wrong.
13. Lindsay Lohan: Too much blush, way fake hair extensions, a cheap-looking satin gown, diamond cut-out with red tear-drops … oh, Lindsay. She could have done so much better to the premiere of Liz & Dick.
12. Katy Perry: This neon green ensemble that Katy wore to the Kids Choice Awards looks like something Kermit threw up.
