Tax season always makes us feel broke. But no matter how deeply we regret the Saks splurges, that weekend in South Beach, and every $15 cocktail we’ve ever purchased — it’s comforting to know that our overspending is negligible compared to these bankrupt, riches-to-rags celebs. Is that evil? Read more…
Thanks to the rise of ultra snarky shows like Fashion Police, Hollywood’s A-List movie stars work their hardest during the 3-month slog that is Awards Season to stay out of the crosshairs of Joan Rivers and her band of catty cronies. Thankfully, our favorite musicians like Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Cee-Lo Green have no such qualms about making a genuine fashion statement on Grammy night.
New York Fashion Week kicked off with the always eagerly awaited, celebrity-model filled “The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection” fashion show, held at the Hammerstein Ballroom yesterday. The show was created to raise awareness for women’s heart issues and deatures stars walking the runway in red dresses loaned by top designers. This year, we adored Minka Kelly in a graceful, pleated and draped Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013 gown. Kelly Osbourne wore a hot, strapless mermaid fishtail by Zac Posen, while Jamie Chung took on slinky deep cherry sequins from the David Meister Signature collection. Toni Braxton looked sultry in a halter Herve L. Leroux gown, while Gabrielle Douglas looked poised in a Pamella Roland mullet dress. The Jenner family walked the ramp too — Kris, Kendall and Kylie — in bright red Badgley Mischka gowns. We have to say, the girls looks absolutely lovely. Rounding up the ladies is, Roselyn Sanchez who had a blast in Tadashi Shoji as she shimmied down the runway. You can see all the looks in our gallery below. Whose gown is your favorite?

While we’ve spent some time this week admiring the very practical wardrobe choices of the stars at the Sundance Film Festival, we also had a few SMH moments as we flipped through some pics from Park City. Some celebrities refuse to trade in their typical Hollywood red-carpet style for puffy coats and Sorels. Take Estelle, for instance, who was at the festival for the first time.
“It’s cold! It’s snowy and cold! Why do they do this here?” the British songstress asked VH1 News as we noticed her beautiful, but very delicate, sparkly pumps. “Darling, I have to be fabulous! I don’t want duck boots! I have duck boots; I left them home in New York.”
But if she comes back again next year, she’ll give in. “I will be here in furs, big thick jumpers, boots, and I will not take them off for anybody. Layers are cute.”
Check out all the other stars who sacrificed comfort for style, including Paris Hilton, Kate Bosworth, AnnaLynne McCord and more. And you can find the rest of VH1 News’ Sundance interviews right here.

Why is Toni Braxton in debt again? This is clearly not a case of once bitten, twice shy for her because she’s been in a mess financially for years now. This round has her in the red for an amount that could be anything from $10 million to $50 million. You just read that correctly.
But let’s take a look at why and who she owes so much money. The list of creditors waiting for the cash that’ll never come are The Four Seasons, Tiffany’s, The Westin Hotel, Flamingo Las Vegas and Neiman Marcus, to name just a few. Toni, where did you think the money-you-don’t-have was coming from?
Did she really think a swipe of a credit card was it? That bills would magically appear and Toni could walk out dripping in new jewels into fancy hotel suites? It’s weird that she doesn’t know how this money stuff works, considering that she already filed for bankruptcy back in 1998. And if that wasn’t enough of a red flag, she was hit up by the IRS this year for a lien worth $396k. It’s hard to sympathize when the person in question keeps making the same mistake over and over again. Learn your lesson, Toni!
