Have we really not had a truly epic VMA beef since Kanye went totally Kanye and snatched Taylor Swift‘s mic in 2009? How time flies. Tonight the MTV VMAs honor those artists who have crafted a truly superior piece of visual art to accompany their music. But a well-crafted celebrity feud? Well, that’s even harder to come by. So we went ahead and predicted some fantasy VMA celebrity feuds for them, just to get the ball rolling! It’s like using The Secret, except you probably shouldn’t use The Secret to have someone yank out Lana Del Rey’s weave…
Is there anything hotter than a diva? How about about a man who loves divas? How about a man who loves divas, and is himself a diva? We know; it’s almost too beautiful to consider. Whether they were performing at the taping of VH1′s Divas Celebrates Soul tonight or simply respecting the shine of the women and men who did, gentlemen like Common, Questlove and 50 Cent brought that red carpet elegance. Boyz II Men also shared cooleyhighharmony in every sense of the word, while Travie McCoy and Nas went casual in caps. Hey, we don’t blame them; it’s freezing in New York! And we don’t want anyone going into full diva mode, would we? VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul premieres Monday, Dec., 19 at 9PM EST.

While some of the stars brought their A fashion game to the AMAs last night, we’re convinced that a few others let their stylists leave for Thanksgiving break early. Surely a professional would prevent Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera from choosing the least flattering gowns for their body type this side of our high school prom. Jennifer Lopez managed to land in our best- and worst-dressed lists (and an upcoming questionable list), thanks to her numerous costume changes and unfortunate decision to continue plugging Fiat in the middle of her performance. Now, we’re pretty sure red-carpet staple Phoebe Price and LMFAO‘s Redfoo were trying to land on this lists, but David Hasselhoff hurt our eyes in those boxers. Keep your pants on, Hoff. Please.

It seems Katy Perry developed a habit this summer of bashing her fellow female pop artists, but now she’s taking aim at ex-boyfriend Travie McCoy. In a recent Billboard interview, she explains that the song “Circle the Drain” from her new album Teenage Dream is “kind of like my ‘You Oughta Know,’ Alanis Morissette moment.” Here’s the brutal lyrics:
“You could have been the greatest/ But you’d rather get wasted/ You fall asleep during foreplay/ ‘Cause the pills you take are more your forte/ I’m not sticking around to watch you go down/ Wanna be your lover/ Not your f*cking mother.”
Ouch! And if that wasn’t painful enough, Katy digs the knife even deeper: “You think you’re so rock and roll/ But you’re really just a joke/ Had the world in the palm of your hand/ But you f*cking choked.” While Travie may have had this diss track coming, we’re still in mourning that Katy is no longer the cutesy “I Kissed A Girl And I Liked It” singer we once adored. Now she’s a catty “I Diss Them All Because I Feel Like It” singer.
Before trashing Travie, Katy dissed Lady Gaga on Twitter for her alleged blasphemous “Alejandro” music video and soon after dissed Miley Cyrus because she thought the “Can’t Be Tamed” pop star was being a skank. Warning to all celebrities: Katy Perry is ready to pounce.
