Summer is here and for many, that means heading to the beach (or nearby park) for some fun in the sun. And while there is plenty to do — who doesn’t love a good game of frisbee? — it’s a great time to crack open a book. While the days summer reading assignments are long gone, the next three months has always been a perfect time to catch up on some great books. Because so many upcoming movies and TV shows, including The Fault in Our Stars and Edge of Tomorrow, are based on books, we thought it would be great to catch up on these reads before heading to the theaters.
Chemistry is a strange thing to nail in Hollywood. How do you put two people together and hope there will be sizzling romantic sparks? Now, there’s a wave of actors who are pulling double duty in the chemistry department. On-screen pairs like Godzilla‘s Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen and The Fault In Our Stars‘ Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley aren’t just selling the sex, but they’re selling the idea that they’re siblings in their other big onscreen roles.
A brand-spanking new extended trailer for The Fault In Our Stars hit the internet last night and yes, it will have you reaching for the Kleenex once more. Let’s just say, we don’t think we’ve ever been so excited to be so emotionally destroyed by a movie.
“I can’t picture it as a movie, but I’m also very very close to the story, and I’ve been working on it for 10 years, so for me it’s a novel. But if the right people come along and can picture it that way, that would be awesome,” that’s what John Green told me back in January 2012, on the day his book, The Fault in Our Stars, hit shelves. Well, after seeing the trailer, we are pretty sure that “the right people” came along to turn this devastating book about kids living with (and adamantly not just dying of) cancer.
Is Kim Kardashian trying to be a size 0 bride? Could Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie strip down for Playboy? Does Shailene Woodley think that Ansel Elgort is going to live up to the hype in The Fault In Our Stars?
Some of our friends weren’t listening two years ago — when we saw Shailene Woodley dive into that pool in The Descendants and tear our hearts out in the process — that she was going to be the next big thing. Even when it was announced that she’d be in Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars, there were skeptics. This year, as Shailene’s birthday falls two days after the release of the Divergent trailer, we think there are a few more believers out there. As the Secret Life of the American Teenager alumna celebrates her 22nd birthday, we thought we’d list 22 reasons she deserves to be huge this year. Apart from, you know, her massive acting talent.
Is the newly single Orlando Bloom romancing his co-star? Why does Farrah Abraham think it was okay to wax her daughter’s unibrow? Should The Fault In Our Stars fans be worried about the film?
