Exclusive: Jessica and Cash’s Date Night

Who said new parents don’t have time for romance? Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren left 9-week-old baby Honor Marie at home Friday night when they went out to see Tropic Thunder at the Arclight Cinema in Hollywood, CA. A source told Scandalist, “They were so cute. They held hands and Jessica put her head on Cash’s shoulder.” Then the couple texted on their cell phones while waiting for the movie to start and snuggled up to each other to take in the Ben Stiller flick, which, despite protests, raked in $26 million and was number one at the box office this weekend. Although Cash was a production assistant when he met Fantastic Four star Jessica on the set in 2004, Cash is no second banana. Jessica’s hubby heads up Verso Entertainment with Clippers point guard Baron Davis. The high school buddies also run online competition site ibeatyou.com. Jessica capped off the weekend by showing off her smokin’ hot post-baby body at the Alma awards on Sunday. [Photo:Getty]

Tropic Thunder Premiere Picketed

While TomKat was smiling and posing, Jack Black was shining, and Robert Downey Jr. was sporting new facial hair at the Tropic Thunder premiere in Los Angeles last night, angry groups representing the intellectually challenged picketed the surrounding area. Protestors from the Special Olympics and other groups representing the disabled handed out flyers with the headline “Ban the Movie, Ban the Word” across the top, calling for people to boycott Tropic Thunder, which contains a vignette called Simple Jack … Once Upon A Time There Was A Retard. Scandalist picked up one of the flyers while attending the premiere last night. Read the entire message after the jump.

Tropic Thunder Premiere Brings Out The Comedians

Jack Black tried to steal the show with a suit covered in airbrushed lightning at the Tropic Thunder premiere in LA last night, but his antics just couldn’t compete with those of the serious thespians in attendance. Sure, Black’s a goofball, but Jena Malone‘s haircut really looked like something from a mental ward. Black’s co-star Nick Nolte showed up the Kung Fu Panda by looking like a guru with mob connections in his long black coat and love beads, and no clown can distract from TomKat. But the award for Most Ridiculous Look Of The Night goes to Robert Downey, Jr. Check out that ‘stache! Is he doing a Geraldo biopic next? Enjoy pics of these loons (and some saner celebrities) below.

Tropic Thunder Boycott: Disabilities Groups Just The Beginning?

A coalition of disabilities groups are calling for a boycott of the spoof film Tropic Thunder at today’s premiere in Westwood, CA, the New York Times reports. But will PETA follow once they get wind of the scene where Ben Stiller kills a baby panda? What about what the NAACP thinks about Robert Downey Jr. being in blackface?

Groups representing the intellectually challenged are enraged at the film’s repeated use of the word “retard” to refer to a character named “Simple Jack.” The Dreamworks film does not however, limit its portrayal of stereotypes to the disabled. In addition to Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr.’s controversial scenes, Tom Cruise plays a parody of powerful Jewish producers in Hollywood.

“Not only might it happen, it will happen,” Timothy P. Shriver, chairman of the Special Olympics, said of the boycott of the film starring Stiller, Downey, Jr., Jack Black, and Cruise.

A rep for Dreamworks said, “We have had productive discussions with representatives of disability advocacy organizations and look forward to working with them closely in the future. However no changes or cuts to the film will be made.”

Stay tuned to see if the 22 groups representing the intellectually challenged are the only civil rights advocates picketing and flooding the streets surrounding the Mann Village theater this evening.
