Aaron Eckhart is battling the box office this weekend as a demon-killing version of Frankenstein’s Creature in I, Frankenstein. The film (one of our most anticipated movies of 2014) looks to be a massive rewrite of Mary Shelley‘s terrifying philosophical masterpiece. Not just because, you know, Frankenstein’s Creature is calling himself Frankenstein and battling gargoyles, but also because he’s freaking hot. Which led us to wonder, is Frankenstein’s Creature sexy? So, we went back through time and dredged up the hottest Frankensteins for your consideration.
Frankenstein’s monsters are the new vampire! We were wondering which attractive supernatural creatures would capture our hearts, brains and other organs after Twilight ended. Now that we can look forward to seeing Aaron Eckhart in I, Frankenstein, we can confidently cross “mummies” and “sexy goblins” off our list. The Rum Diary actor will star in the upcoming film as Adam Frankenstein, the creation of the original mad scientist, who just so happens to be immortal. Wait a minute…so he is still sort of like a vampire? Well played, sirs. Well played.
Eckhart probably isn’t the only Frankenstein we have to look forward to in 2013. Much like the dual Snow White movies, Eckhart will be joined by whatever hunk is cast in the upcoming This Dark Endeavor, which stars Frankenstein, his twin Konrad and their best friend Elizabeth, who has a crush on … wait a minute, so that one is basically Twilight? How do they do it? Every time, they reel us in!
Nicole Kidman may say nice things about Rabbit Hole co-star Aaron Eckhart now, the Dark Knight dude admits the pair didn’t get along great while playing grieving parents on set, especially during the more intense scenes. “She was irritated with me and I was irritated with her,” he told E! Online. “But that’s the way movie-making is. For one day, are we not allowed? For half a day even? It’s so surprising to me when people are surprised that movie making is sometimes tense and uncomfortable because inherently it’s going to be.” To be fair, few of us have ever been on a set with Christian Bale before.
“You’re around tens of people or hundreds of people working on things that are imaginary and that come from the soul,” said Eckhart. “You could be dealing with subject matter like prostitution, death, drugs, blah, blah, blah. How could you expect that not to be uncomfortable?” Especially when that guy keeps screwing with the lights! F—ing amateurs! Looks like the tense times on set paid off, though: Kidman’s performance scored a Critics’ Choice Movie Award nomination for Best Actress. Expect her to give Eckhart a “thank you” if she wins on January 14th, too.
