Is Adam Driver going from playing a Brooklyn bro on Girls to a Jedi in a “galaxy far, far away?” Did Leah Remini leave Scientology to save her daughter? Is Allison Williams about to be a married woman?
It seems to us that vast majority of people who hate Girls haven’t actually seen the show. Not that there aren’t plenty of people who tuned in for the first season and decided it wasn’t for them; they just don’t happen to be the people who seem to really loathe it. If you know for sure you hate Girls and yet haven’t actually watched it, or you saw the first ep and bailed, indulge us for a few minutes when we try to explain why you should tune in to the show’s second season. Open your mind and heart to this reality!
In case you didn’t know that Girls is returning to HBO for it’s second season January 13, the show has a new round of promos with the tagline #resolutionsGirlsbreak. After peeping the character’s pledges for the new year (does anyone’s heart not get treated like monkey meat on this show?) and watching last week’s Girls trailer, we have 5 resolutions of our own that we want Lena Dunham’s show to come through on. Hey, it’s not like the show has to go to the gym or anything! What would a TV show gym even look like? Remind us to make a resolution to draw up some schematics:
Oooooh! Now we see. Not that we didn’t think Girls‘ Adam Driver was talented before, but after today, we finally get him. You get what we’re saying? You picking up what we’re putting down? We get him in our pants. Driver’s recent and extremely awesome GQ spread did the heavy lifting, though his cameo in Lincoln didn’t hurt either. That boy looks good in Civil War-era kepi cap! We hope Driver was able to take it home and transfer it to his Girls wardrobe. Adam could wear that hat around Williamsburg and no one would bat an eye.
