It’s always great to watch our favorite celebrities let loose at the SAG Awards. But when actors like Amanda Peet, Gwendoline Christie, and basically the entire cast of Orange Is the New Black make horrendous fashion choices, it lessens the blow of not being cool enough to hang out with them at the star-studded event.
Joining HBO’s Sunday night line-up, Togetherness rounds out an evening of slice-of-life programming. Accompanied by Girls and Looking, both peeks at the melodramatic and desperate lives of a group of directionless friends, Togetherness is an LA-based dramedy that looks into the window of two overwhelmed couples living under one roof. We’ve seen what lots of crossover stars wore on the Emmys red carpet. By that we mean actresses who we’ve seen in films but have lead roles in major television dramas now. Like Ginnifer Goodwin (love the orange gown), Zooey Deschanel and Claire Danes (yellow gown fail, sadly.) We even saw the grand Jessica Lange winning ‘Best Supporting Actress In A Miniseries’ for American Horror Story and Julianne Moore (another yellow misstep, but love her anyway) who won ‘Best Actress In A Miniseries’ for Game Change. But there were other bonafide movie stars attending the event — ladies who we associate with the film world even if they dabble on the TV world. Nicole Kidman led the way looking statuesque in a white Antonio Berardi column with aqua sequined overlay. It’s unusual, and we still have to mull over whether we like it or not. Kate Mara requires no mulling over because she looked fabulous in a soft, vintage-looking Badgley Mischka dress with Christian Louboutin shoes. Ashley Judd, sadly, took us to the other end of the like spectrum: dislike. Her plum custom Carolina Herrera did her no favors and she looked fussy and matronly, especially with that bouffant up-do. Lucy Liu brought the glam right back in a metallic mesh Versace column. Trust her to set it straight again. We end on a low note though — saving the not-so-best for last. Amanda Peet, why would you wear this? The lovely actress looked washed out and insipid in an ill-fitting pale pink Calvin Klein gown. Want a closer look? Head on to our gallery.

The Golden Globes red carpet looks from this evening’s ceremony seemed to fall into two distinct categories: delightfully lovely, and highly, highly questionable. Is Jessica Biel actually wearing an old ill-fitting wedding dress? Was there no other, better way to get the message across to Justin? Was Zooey Deschanel‘s gown literally made out of Astroturf? How did Tilda Swinton get so insane-pantsuit fabulous? Check out the Golden Globes 20 Most Questionable Looks and let us know which look had you scratching your head the most.

Neutrals and blush: If done right, you’re instantly transformed into a more sophisticated and elegant version of yourself. Done wrong, you’re either a human-size Band-Aid or a couture Golden Girl. And not the hot one. Either way, Piper Perabo took pleasure in demonstrating how unbeige beige can be on the Golden Globes red carpet tonight, as did Charlize Theron, Heidi Klum, Katherine McPhee, Amanda Peet, Taissa Farmiga, E!’s Guiliana Rancic, and Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland and Julie Bowden. The neutrals and blushes are still coming fast and furious, but which is your favorite flesh-toned frock so far?

It looks like Leighton Meester didn’t realize that “black tie” is just a figure of speech, or maybe she just didn’t care. She shouldn’t, because she still looked amazing arriving at New York’s Gotham Independent Film awards in a sleek suit. Any excuse to rock the Annie Hall look is fine by us, and it’s a far cry from the butt baring attire the Gossip Girl wore out a few weeks ago.
Tons of other stars showed up too, including the Hot Young Actress Holy Trinity: Anne Hathaway, Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman. Legends Bill Murray and Robert Duvall were also in attendance, as were old favorites Winona Ryder and Amanda Peet (long time no see, guys). Check out the faces and the fashions in the gallery below!

Kate and Alex are secondhand furniture sellers who know all the good stuff comes from dead old people. When not picking over undervalued estates, they’re waiting for their elderly neighbor to die so they can co-opt her apartment. That brings them into contact with the irascible buzzard’s grand-daughters. Mary is a too-tan skin care technician. Rebecca is a sullen nurse dedicated to the sister and grand-mother who don’t really deserve her. At first glance, this story of the well-to-do on New York’s Upper West Side seems like it’s headed to familiar Woody Allen territory. In fact, it’s a smart and sometimes bittersweet take on being greedy, the value of aging and the limits of compassion. It also provides meaty parts for a trio of terrific actresses: Catherine Keener (Where the Wild Things Are), Amanda Peet (2012), and this month’s “It” girl, Rebecca Hall (The Town).
Extras: A Q&A with director Nicole Holofcener and a behind the scenes featurette.

Amanda Peet didn’t let pregnancy keep her off the red carpet, so why should she waste any time getting back on once the kid was born? The Whole Nine Yards star attended the premiere of her new movie Please Give at the Tribeca Film Festival last night, only eight days after the birth of Molly June, her second daughter with husband David Benioff. Molly’s birth came early enough that Peet had to cancel a Letterman appearance scheduled the day after—maybe she was supposed to be preggo for this photo op too. See photos of Peet and more in the gallery below.

Common folk eat up comparisons to their famous look-a-like, but what about celebrities themselves? Via makeup, plastic surgery, and sheer coincidence, duplicates of our beloved stars are running rampant all over Hollywood, or in Lady Gaga‘s case, gracing our currency. Here are 20 of our favorite, unrelated, doppelgangin’ celebs. [Photos: Getty Images]
