Black Becomes A Major Trend At VH1 Divas

Black Outfits Trend At VH1 Divas

Black reinstated itself as the it color at VH1 Divas last night at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A. It had been relegated into the shadows thanks to the summer brights trend over the last few months. It was the shade to wear as evident by the evidence on the red carpet and on stage!  Stacy Keibler wore it via a Monique Lhullier skintight suit and Jimmy Choo shoes, while Keri Hilson took it on through a Pucci jumpsuit, Christian Louboutin shoes while blinging up with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Demi Lovato wore black with a sweet Topshop dress with lace overlay shoulders while Miley Cyrus not only wore it with lots of metal embellishments on stage, but also as she arrived, in a sexy cut-out Omo by Norma Kamali dress. It’s like those two were at opposite ends of the spectrum with Demi being sugar and Miley being the spice! Ciara was sleek and sexy in a sequined Pamella Roland gown and that’s not all. Jordin Sparks, NeNe Leakes, Amber Riley, Elisha Cuthbert and more wore black to the show making it the biggest trend of the night. From Natalie Portman And Scarlett Johansson To Clint Eastwood And His Chair: See Which Celebs Have Been Turning Up At The National Conventions

Celebrities at the national conventions

Election fever is starting to go full tilt as we cruise into fall, and celebs of all stripes have put in appearances at the national political conventions to show their support for their favorite presidential candidate! Democrats seemed to have the hotties in their corner, with appearances from Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria. Yeah, we all know about how most of Hollywood are Democrats (insert evil liberal media bias conspiracy argument here). But what can we say, the pictures speak for themselves! We also have some rap and R&B artists like Common, will.i.am and Mary J. Blige bringing the noise and the funk for Barack Obama. Even U.S. Gynmastic sweetheart Gabby Douglas got in on the red, white and blue fun!

Say what you will about their politics, but the Republican National Convention definitely rocked the hardest of the two. Mitt Romney and the gang had a hand from freakin’ Journey! But that’s not all. Axe-men from 3 Doors Down, Lynyrd Skynyrd shredded their strings for the GOP, and Kid Rock, Trace Adkins and Taylor Hicks also showed up to belt a few tunes. Plus, who could forget Clint Eastwood and his incredible empty chair? Head to the gallery below to check out all the famous folks who have made their voices heard at the national political conferences!

Glee’s Season 3 Finale: Celebrate Graduation With A Fashion Flashback!

Heather Morris, Jenna Ushkowitz, Dianna Agron and Lea Michele on Glee

As much as Glee is about singing and tolerance and bullying and domestic violence and young love, it also is about fashion. I mean, in last week’s episode, even Principal Figgins noted the evolution of Tina Cohen-Chang’s wardrobe. And nothing pointed out the characters’ individual fashion sense as much as the character swapping they did in “Props.” That’s why, as we brace ourselves for tonight’s graduation episode, and the summer hiatus to follow, we thought we’d look back at some of our favorite outfits from the season.

In looking through the Fox-provided stills from season three, we noticed a few interesting things: 1) There’s not much of Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) — her character took a backseat for most of the season, so we’ve been deprived of her adorable, early-’60s-inspired dresses. 2) Rachel Berry’s wardrobe has hardly changed through the seasons, though there were a few standout dresses that might show signs she’ll eventually stop dressing like a 12-year-old. 3) We want all of Sugar’s and Quinn’s sweaters. And 4) Figgins was right, Tina has made an amazing fashion transformation, for the better.

Last week, we asked Jenna Ushkowitz what she thinks Tina’s next fashion identity might be. Here’s what she said:

Glee‘s Chris Colfer On Season 4: “We Will All Be Back”

We have been getting our boxes of tissues ready for next week’s season finale of Glee — that show already brings us to tears, imagine what would happen if we had to say goodbye to most of its graduating seniors? — while crossing our fingers that whatever Ryan Murphy and company come up with for season four, it doesn’t become Saved by the Bell: The College Years. Now that bits and pieces of the plan have been revealed at the Fox Upfronts, we’re feeling pretty relieved and excited, actually. (Though there will probably still be crying, of course.) Network chief Kevin Reilly revealed that the show will follow a handful of the seniors to a performing arts school in New York (though we don’t know if this is the famed NYATA or a rival, like Julliard?), and there will be some kind of “show-within-a-show” format. That lines up with what Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel) said this morning on Big Morning Buzz Live.

“We will all be back in some capacity, I believe,” he said. That sounds like some castmembers might be coming back only occasionally — which, good, because how ridic if they all went to the same school?

Amber Riley’s tweet last week, saying she “Just closed a chapter in my life, the only thing I’ve known day in and day out for three years,” sent Gleeks into a panic that Mercedes and her killer voice would not be a part of the returning pack. But she backtracked on Thursday, writing, “My tweet apparently has been misconstrued. I was not confirming I was leaving the show. Just stating that I would miss being in the classroom everyday with the cast and that would be changing. Thanks for the support guys :)

Amber Riley Collapses At Glee Screening, We’re Glad She’s OK Now

Amber Riley Collapses At Glee Screening At TV Academy

The whole cast and producers team of Glee was in North Hollywood last night at the TV Academy of Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood for a screening of the show, followed by panel discussion held in front of Emmy voters. Sadly, the event took a pretty scary turn when our gurl Amber Riley, who plays Mercedes on the series, collapsed while doing interviews on the red carpet. Luckily, she recovered quickly and was even able to participate in the panel discussion later.

She also tweeted some explanations about what and why it happened. The first message read, “Hey guys, I’m okay. I got a little dizzy from all the photog flashes! You’d think I’s be used to it by now, still a red carpet amateur I guess. Gonna get checked out but I feel fine. Thank you for all the concern and well wishes.” She added in another post, “I’d also like to thank the photographers for being do professional and not taking photos of me on the ground. I truly truly appreciate it. Could have been super embarrassing.”

The photo you see above is therefore of Amber before the incident. Glad you’re OK, lady! She really must’ve given everyone there a fright.

Black Gowns Galore On The 2012 SAG Awards Red Carpet

Classic black never goes out of style. There may have been a fair amount of neutrals and grays and bold colors on the 2012 Sag Awards red carpet last night, but black actually outnumbered them all. None of the gowns veered towards goth territory, either, as all the styles went the romantic or slightly edgy route.

We saw drapes on the likes of Melissa McCarthy’s Badgley Mischka, Archie Panjabi’s one-shouldered Carolina Herrera and Angelina Jolie’s Jenny Packham halter-necked gown. The latter was a little too safe for our liking. Wearing the same designer was Ashlee Simpson, whose dress was similar to the number Vanessa Hudgens wore to the People’s Choice Awards. No contest here: Ashlee wore the better version.

Amber Heard killed it in a Zac Posen cut-out dress and guess who wore the same designer? Glenn Close! She rocked that gown and her compatriot Jessica Lange did the same in a slinky sequined David Meister number. Both the ladies are still so sexy in their 60s! Joining the sequin brigade was Jayma Mays‘ beautiful Reem Acra gown with a dramatic demi-train. We saw a lot of lace overlay as well, whether it was in Amber Riley’s Badgley Mischka, Stacy Keibler’s Marchesa or Emma Stone’s custom Alexander McQueen. We’d also like to hand out top marks to our favourite 30 Rock ladies for bringing on the fabulous. Tina Fey looked very sexy in her vintage Versace gown as did Jane Krakowski in Antonio Berardi. Everyone did really good here, and black was anything but boring. The only celebrity we wish had upped the stakes was Glee’s Heather Morris. Her half-sheer Masai Payan dress just didn’t work.

We’d love to hear your opinions so click through our gallery and sound off in the comments section.

Lea Michele Forgot To Wear Pants To The American Horror Story Premiere

Damn, Glee girl! We weren’t sure if Lea Michele’s micro-mini technically counted as a dress, or if she just forgot to wear pants. But after a little research we discovered that the outfit is sold through ASOS, and it’s actually just meant as a top! We guess she took a page from the Rihanna stylebook. Lea wore the super-short ensemble to the premiere of American Horror Night, the latest project from Glee guru Ryan Murphy. Fellow cast mates Chris Colfer, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley and Naya Rivera also strutted their stuff on the red carpet. Check out more in the gallery below!

The Stars Are Out At Adele’s LA Concert

Adele has sold approximately ninety zillion (give or take) copies of her instant classic 21 this year, so it’s no surprise that she’s playing to sold out venues all over the world. Some of her more famous fans were spotted attending her concert at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles last night! Dianna Agron looked stunning and see-throughy in a mildly scando sheer top, while Glee-mate Amber Riley took a more wrapped up approach in a colorful flowery blouse. Some stars made a romantic evening out of it, as Jessica Simpson showed up with fiance Eric Johnson on her arm, and America Ferrera brought along her hubby, Mr. America Ferrera (sorry, we mean Ryan Piers William). Fellow world-shaking Brit Robert Pattinson was rumored to have attended, but sadly gave the paps the slip. But many other celebs didn’t! Check out the gallery below to see what other stars came out to groove to Adele.

Beyonce’s Secret Show Brings Out Some Glee Kids And One Gwyneth Paltrow

The Queen should really watch her back because Beyonce has really been taking over England! She’s made history as Bey is the first woman to headline Glastonbury‘s main stage. Who run the world?! She put up a pretty incredible show but it hasn’t ended there. Beyonce also had a secret show at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire last night, which served as her new album launch. How very MI6 of them.

Apart from the fabulous Adele and Bey’s husband, Jay-Z, some Glee kids happened to be in the neighborhood and showed up. Chris Colfer, Amber Riley and Kevin McHale. Their Glee guest star  — Gwyneth Paltrow — also joined them. In fact, they probably ended up hanging out together inside as Gwyneth posted a WhoSay message that read, “Look who i ran into just now at B’s secret show! I heart @druiddude”. The cyber-note accompanied a cute candid with Mchale. Not very secret anymore though, is it?

Marie Claire‘s Glee Covers Look Fierce, But Hit A Wrong Note

There’s no doubt the new Glee Marie Claire covers look banging. Dianna Agron, Lea Michele and Amber Riley have amazing hair, clothes that make our Target dresses look like rags, and glowing skin that bares only the mildest kiss of Photoshop (for the most part). We really hate to point out the flaws in such fabulousness, but what is up with Riley’s cover headline being different than everyone else’s?

On their solo covers, Agron and Michele offer written promise that they’ll discuss “the rumors! gossip! drama!” of their hit show. Yet on Riley’s cover, the actress is quoted saying, “I show girls how to be comfortable with their bodies.” Of all four covers, Amber’s is the only one highlighting the actress’s body, rather than the insanity that must come with working on one of the hottest shows on TV. Riley is definitely a gorgeous woman, but it’d be nice of Marie Claire could single her out for more than just her pants’ size. Like, for example, how she clearly needs to be given a major story line when Glee‘s Lady Gaga episode drops April 26. If it wasn’t for that one glaring difference,  the four covers would make for a near-flawless gallerGlee.
