Everyone looks forward to the grand retail extravaganza that is Vogue‘s Fashion Night Out. Held in approximately 19 countries across a week, the U.S — due to Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour‘s dictact — has their big night on the first day of Fashion Week. It’s a smart move because everyone’s in New York then, and those celebrities who don’t need to be there on day one, can enjoy FNO in L.A, the other fashion capital of the country. That’s both coasts taken care of! Hundreds of stores and designers providing special gifts with purchase and exclusive FNO merchandise, discounts and deals. NYC was swarming with stars yesterday for FNO special apperances. AnnaSophia Robb was Fekkai Mademoiselle, Nikki Reed and Kate Upton were at Michael Kors. Nikki looks super hot in a golden sequined dress, FYI. She was the best-dressed of the night! Kellan Lutz, Pharrell Williams and Matchbox 20 were at Bloomingdales. Allison Williams was at the DVF store, while Alexa Chung was at Moschino. Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian made the rounds too, of course. Kim’s little sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, and her mother Kris Jenner were at the Beverly Center in L.A. along with Lucy Hale and Kendra Wilkinson, as well. Want to take a look at how glam everyone was? Head on over to our gallery!

We’re hoping you went through our extensive Met Gala coverage yesterday. If you did, then two things will start occurring to you as we delve into this deliciously dissing post. The first was this: Someone as hot as Kate Upton had to pay her way to get into the Met event, offering up a check of $25,000 to Vogue Editrix and Gala chairperson Anna Wintour. The second point that should also be hitting you is … where was Kim Kardashian? This may seem disconnected from the first train of thought, but it’s not, because Kim is everywhere, all the time, so her absence at this A-list to beat all A-list events in surprising. Besides, if Kate Upton could buy her way in, you know that Kim would’ve tried. This is the Oscars of Fashion after all. And Kimmy’s boyfriend, Kanye West, was attending as well.
Sadly, her dreams of attending future Met Galas have been shattered thanks to this bit of gossip unearthed by RadarOnline. According to sources in the know, Kim will never be allowed to step foot into the event because, “Anna hates Kim. Why would she be invited to the event? It is all the biggest stars in the world and Kim doesn’t fit that bill at all.” Burn! And no, Kim can’t pull a Kate Upton and throw down some cash. The source added, “The Met Gala is $25,000 a ticket, but Kim can’t even buy her way in. Anna Wintour does NOT want her there!”
Kim must’ve known about this edict, because there is no way in hell that she didn’t send out feelers months before the event. Being frosted out may be a horrible thing, but the Kardashians aren’t anything if not krafty. To show that she was far too busy to attend the bash anyway, Kim made sure she was photographed all over L.A. running errands. “Kim and her camp will deny that she wasn’t invited by saying that she had business in L.A., but that is a lie. She would have done anything to be there with all the A-listers, ” the chatty source clarifies. Do note that when Anna Wintour nixes you, you’re nixed for good, so the Kimster shouldn’t even hope for any Vogue coverage, as the sources shoved in the final nail in KK’s coffin, saying, “Anna Wintour would allow Kim Kardashian on the cover of Vogue over her dead body. As long as Anna in charge you will NOT see Kim on Vogue.” D.E.N.I.E.D!

The Museum of Modern Art’s Fourth Annual Film benefit, A Tribute to Pedro Almodovar, had celebrities lined up to pay homage to the Spanish director. A few of the stars had been to the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards the previous night, making this second round of dress-up all the more impressive. Two nights out and we’re half dead under our charcoal face masks, but not these ladies. Blake Lively, Chloe Moretz, Anna Wintour, Drew Barrymore, Emma Stone and Sarah Jessica Parker all wore Chanel, while Miranda Kerr was rocking a bizarre, patterned Peter Pilotto dress. Drew also brought her latest boyfriend, Will Kopelman. The evening included video messages to Almodovar from friends Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, as well as montage of highlights from his films.
We know you want to see what everyone wore, so go ahead and check out our gallery.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards took place on Monday night at the Skylight in New York. Young Hollywood was well rep’d by the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Joe Jonas, Chloe Moretz, Mia Wasikowska, Zoe Kravitz and Olivia Wilde. It was couple’s night as well with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, La La and Carmelo Anthony, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell and Cobra Starship‘s Gabe Saporta with designer Erin Featherstone making an appearance. The event was presided over by the steely eyes of Anna Wintour, so you know everyone rethought their outfits at least five times before heading out.

Nicki Minaj looked like she stepped off the Candy Land game board when she showed up at the Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 fashion show in New York City this morning. With Fashion Week is in full swing, we knew Miss Minaj had to up her usual bizarro steez. But she definitely outdid herself in her Amazing Technicolor Gumball Coat, aka “The Coat Of Many Flavors”. OK, it’s not actually made of candy, but it’s still pretty awesome/insane. And she even had the guts to wear it next to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour! Damn, that takes some serious gumballs. Luckily the prickly fashionista didn’t chew out Nicki’s gummy ensemble, but seemed to hit it off with the rapper. Check out the gallery below for more!

The picture on the right is Blake Lively for Madison Magazine’s upcoming July issue. The picture on the left is Blake covering Vogue Magazine in June last year. Madison mag basically lifted the same hair, the same expression and the same outfit except the color of the top and a few little changes here and there.
Since the Vogue cover was last year, we’re guessing they thought that nobody would notice the difference. Guess again! We were looking at the picture and couldn’t help thinking we had seen it somewhere else. And since Blake is Anna Wintour‘s pet, we guessed correctly that it was on Vogue. Madison is a magazine for Australia, FYI, and all we can say to them is — BUSTED! What do you guys have to say about this?

Considering how much time Kate Winslet has spent in front of Mario Testino‘s lens, it was only right that she was on hand to honor the legendary photographer at last night’s El Museo Del Barrio gala in New York. Not that she’s the only Kate he’s flattered. “The two other Kates, Kate Moss and Kate Middleton [Mario shot Prince William's engagement photos], were unavailable so you have to make do with me,” cracked Winslet before presenting his award. “His biggest strength without fail is making women look beautiful. So when Mario turns to you and says, ‘it’s beautiful, but I think it would work better naked, no?’ How can one refuse?” Um, can we just ask when has Kate ever refused the chance to work naked?
Also on hand to tip the hat to Testino were folks like Anna Wintour, Josh Hartnett, John Legend and Courtney Love, who somehow managed to stay clothed. See photos of from the bash in the gallery below.

It would appear that anyone who has ever worn clothes was in attendance at the Women’s Wear Daily 100 Anniversary Gala last night. Fashionistas like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Iman, Anna Wintour, and Michael Kors were there, both Top Chef hosts, Padma Lakshmi and Katie Lee, were there (was that weird?), and then there were the total randos: Henry Kissinger, Jessica Szohr, Alex McCord. Seriously, elbow combinations you never dreamed of were rubbing last night. The one thing they had in common though was that everyone looked amazing. Check out our gallery to see what we mean.
We’ve always loved Tim Gunn for his candor and class on Project Runway, but he’s been stirring up the fashion world lately with a book he wrote which reveals some juicy tidbits about fashion’s queen bee, Anna Wintour.
Gunn has been making the rounds this Fashion Week to promote Gunn’s Golden Rules, which contains a story about how he witnessed Wintour being carried down five flights of stairs at a fashion show. That he would publicly call out Wintour for her diva-like behavior made her so angry she demanded he retract the story, but he refused explaining that it was 100% true and he wasn’t the only witness. He included the story in the book, he says, not because she was carried, but because she made such a stink about being outed for it “Accept responsibility for your own behavior. If you’re going to be carried down five flights of stairs, own up to it,” he said on Live! with Regis and Kelly earlier in the week.
Today in Page Six, Gunn was asked what he would do if he saw Wintour at Fashion Week this week, to which he replied “Lord knows hell would freeze over if I came face to face with her here, but I probably wouldn’t be able to see past her handlers.” In addition, Gunn told WWD “I had friends and colleagues say, ‘You’ll never be invited to a dinner party again.’ My response was ‘Hallelujah!’” Could not love him more.
What’s ironic to us is how Wintour is upset with Gunn for being a sensible and decent human being, but just today defended universally loathed model Naomi Campell. Campbell was accused of being difficult to work with (if we had a nickel…) at the Fashion’s Night Out event held earlier this week in New York, but Wintour disagreed, stating “Naomi was on time, professional and a joy to work with.” Campbell may indeed have been professional and punctual, but we’re highly suspicious of any joy being had within her cell-phone throwing radius. But there you have it, an inside glimpse of the Opposite-Day/Bizarro World goings on in the world of fashion. So glad we get all our clothes at T.J. Maxx.
