Amal Clooney topped Barbara Walters‘ list of Most Fascinating People of 2014, giving us all one more reason to feel painfully inadequate by comparison. Formerly Amal Alamuddin, the human rights lawyer beat out names like Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk, and David Koch for the title, proving that her intrigue outshone that of everyone else for the entire year.
The ladies on The View have strong opinions about Woody Allen, we may see less of Jennifer Lawrence, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is getting an awesome new cast member.
Well guys, it’s been another week filled with thrills and chills and hilarity, which means it’s time to crown another person with the honor of having the Best Week Ever! Who’s it going to be? Is it you? Is it me? Is it someone who owns a baking company? I don’t know! That’s why I’m going to be tuning in to Best Week Ever this Friday, May 17 at 10/9 C to find out! But until that shining hour comes, let’s all watch these behind-the-scenes clips and you can vote on Who Is Having The Best Week Ever.
Is Barbara Walters finally retiring? What is season four of Arrested Development going to look like on Netflix? Did The Great Gatsby do great business at the box office?
Why are things looking bad for Lindsay Lohan once more? And who just got left out of an impromptu Charlie’s Angels reunion this past weekend? The answers to this, plus a sneak peak of Emma Watson as a bad girl in this morning’s The Scoop.
We’d love to think that Barbara Walters is currently throwing things around her dressing room yelling, “No one says no to Babs!” Because Lindsay Lohan just did, and what’s worse is that she first said yes to a televised sit-down, and then pulled out a week before its scheduled airtime. La Lohan was supposed to be on for 20/20, on November 16, a week before Liz & Dick debuted, which as you know, has the actress portraying Elizabeth Taylor. But L.L’s personal life has led to her new PR team, Rogers & Cowen, to pull the plug with Walters as the journalist was planning to talk to Lindsay about the car crash she was in. Which one? Frankly, we’ve lost count as she’s been in too many car accidents to remember. We’re guessing it’s the one she may have lied about to cops. That’s what it is — the one where Lindsay drove her Porsche into the back of an 18-wheeler. Apparently, when they first agreed to the interview, it was just supposed to be about the movie, but then her people caught whiffs about the fact that Walters was going to open that whole crash can of worms. And they were unsure about Lindsay’s responses as they felt that her mouth could get her into trouble. Or mess up her probation terms, so they put the muzzle on. And we actually agree with them. Why else would Babs want to talk about the accident? Because she totally knew she’d get some juicy stuff out of Lindsay! For shame, Barbara!

During Lindsay Lohan’s interview with Matt Lauer back in March, the troubled actress convinced us that all she really wants in life is to get back to work. She’s done just that — landing starring roles Liz & Dick and The Canyons — but so far, we’ve still heard more about her illnesses, driving mishaps, nightlife battles and family drama than about how she’s doing as an actress. Now that Lindsay’s agreed to sit down with Barbara Walters for an interview that will air sometime before Liz & Dick premieres on Lifetime (November 25). Not that we’d presume to give tips to the legendary Walters or anything, but we have a few questions we hope she’s planning to ask. Add yours to the list, too!

The Time 100 Gala celebrating its “100 Most Influential People of 2011″ went down in the very sedate setting of the Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center in New York last night. This instagram gallery of the event made us very happy, for some strange reason. Of course we had our own take of who the top 22 on that list of 100 stars are. We’re also concerned with what a number of those top 100 women wore yesterday, and we’re happy to say that it was a very colorful carpet. Amy Poehler decided to wear a black dress and bring it back to monotone, but it was so hot that she’s totally forgiven. Check out the low neckline and flounced skirt. Her buddy Kristen Wiig also wore a black lace jumpsuit but it had nude lining underneath, and she had a white jacket on, so it doesn’t count. We just wish the whole thing would fit better because Kristen’s such a babe.
Claire Danes wore a beautiful rusty-red Lanvin shift, but her updo could have been better style. Sticking to somewhat of the same color spectrum was Rihanna who looked stunning in a fuchsia prom dress by Marchesa with black Louboutin pumps. It was so pretty and girly — very different from her usual rude girl style. Tyra Banks wore the same color, only in a sweeping old Hollywood type of gown. We just can’t explain her crazy expressions, because there were plenty. That whole “smiling with the eyes” thing just isn’t working anymore. Other ladies who looked classy even though they have a couple of decades on the younger stars were Arianna Huffington in royal blue lace and Barbara Walters who wore a burgundy gown with a chain belt. Check out the gallery to see all the looks for yourself.

Ooooh, we can’t wait for these interviews! Barbara Walters announced nine of her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 today, and while we’ve certainly heard a lot from all of them, you just know there will be new, emotional dirt revealed when the special airs on December 14 on ABC.
Pippa Middleton, Katy Perry, the Kardashians and Simon Cowell seemed like pretty obvious choices. We kind of forgot about all that Donald Trump business earlier in the year, so thanks for reminding us, Babs. To some of us, the most fascinating thing Derek Jeter did this year was break up with Minka Kelly, but there are probably more sporty things he has to talk about. Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson also made the list, for reasons beyond just being adorable. And then the most fascinating person will be revealed during the show. (We’re confused by the numbers here — are the Kardashians all one person but Eric and Jesse are two people? Someone, please explain.)

You can’t see it, but we are fanning our faces with both hands, trying calm down after seeing Barbara Walters call Diddy out on The View for have six children with three different women. While Diddy Dirty Money was on to hype their new album Last Train To Paris, Barbara wanted to find out why Diddy hasn’t settled down with any of his baby mamas Misa Hylton-Brim, Kim Porter or Sarah Chapman, eventually blurting, “What’s your trouble?” It is so horrifying uncomfortable to watch. It’s like your Grandma asking you why you aren’t married in front of your entire family, except it’s on TV and Joy Behar is leaning over her shoulder, giggling.
Diddy handles his business though, getting over his initial shock to explain, “The reason of it, why I’m not married yet, I don’t have the exact reason…I know I haven’t been ready…My father was killed when I was three years old, and my mother was a very strong woman, and she just said, I love your father and I’m not going to have no other man around…But on the flip side, I never got the chance to see the way a family lives. But I’m not giving you an excuse. I’m just giving you my background.” Seriously, what other explanation did Walters expect? “Why, I just hate condoms, Barbara!” Please, nobody wants to see Elisabeth Hasselbeck having an aneurysm on camera.
