After months of fooling us into thinking they’d already gotten hitched in secret, Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied finally, for real got married on Saturday in Big Sur, California. The Jewish ceremony took place in a private home after dark, People reports.
The couple, whose son Aleph is 14 months old, first met and started dating in 2009, on the set of Black Swan — basically the least romantic movie we can think of. But dancer/choreographer Millepied was perfectly able to get past Natalie’s psycho ballerina character and the two announced their engagement and the baby on the way in December 2010. A month later, they started making all the red carpet rounds together, adorably showing off Natalie’s baby bump as she picked up trophy after trophy.
The two do an amazingly frustrating job of keeping private, but that doesn’t mean photographers haven’t managed to snap some super sweet pics of them displaying their affection. Here’s a little photographic celebration of how much these two clearly love each other! Congrats!

The New York City Ballet opened last night at the David Koch theater at Lincoln Center to a packed house. Out of the plenty of people who attended, two particular couples stood out for us. The first was the the lovely duo of Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman, as you can see on the right. Drew is pregnant, as y’all know, and she covered her bump with a flowing, white Chanel dress, and a black blazer. Will looked sharp in a classic tuxedo. Then there was the incredibly handsome couple of Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied, on the left. Natalie was a vision in Dior, which she wore from head-to-toe. We’re talking that super navy gown, shoes, bag, and earrings, all paired with a Richard Mille watch. Benjamin picked a suit and tie, as opposed to Will. BTW, Natalie and Benjamin are quite familiar with this territory as many scenes from Black Swan were filmed there. Looking good, you guys!

Could this be true? We were completely in love with the vintage Dior dress Natalie Portman wore to the 2012 Oscars, but the interwebs picked up on one very important accessory that fell through the gap with us. See that big old ring set on Natalie’s hand in both pictures above? It’s her left hand. Her babydaddy and fiance Benjamin Millepied also had a ring on his wedding finger. They got engaged in late 2012 without anyone knowing. Have they already sealed the deal with a secret wedding? Or was that just a huge ring to complement her boss diamond necklace? We’d be so happy for them if they were married but can’t help but feel cheated about seeing a fabulous wedding dress. So let the rumor cycle spin. Are they or they not Mr. and Mrs. Millepied-Portman?

Awww, cuteness! Natalie Portman‘s son’s name has leaked, thanks to Israeli TV program Good Evening With Guy Pines. According to the show, Natalie and fiance Benjamin Millepied gave their baby boy the Israeli name Alef, drawing from the first letter of the Israeli alphabet. Natalie was born in Jerusalem and holds dual American and Israeli citizenship. She gave birth to her little one in June. What we wouldn’t to be present when Alef sees Black Swan for the first time with his parents. So much awkward. Welcome to Hollywood, Alef!
Congratulations to proud parents Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman. It’s a baby boy for them! While People broke the news, they didn’t give any indication of when exactly the baby was born, or even when Natalie went into labor, or even what hospital they went to. Apparently, the actress’ rep isn’t picking up any calls either.
All we know is that it’s a boy … yay! But someone needs to start talking fast because we need to know more details. As does Ellen DeGeneres who tweeted less than an hour ago, “I’m so happy for my dance protégée Natalie Portman and her new baby boy! Congratulations!” Can’t wait to hear what they’re going to name him. Mazel Tov, mom and dad!

This sprightly high-kicker happens to be Benjamin Millepied, Natlalie Portman‘s fiance and babydaddy. We were wondering what the hell he was doing busting ballet moves out on the streets of New York, but as it turns out, he’s shooting a commercial for YSL. It’s a good thing Benjamin’s a ballet hotshot, because those moves could seriously damage a guys, uhhh, equipment. Not that there’s any problem with twinkletoes here, considering Natalie’s walking around with a massive baby bump. We wonder how many people he freaked out while filming this. It’s not often that you see a dude prancing around doing Swan Lake on the streets. Or is it? Hey… it’s New York!

The fact that she won an Oscar for her role still hasn’t convinced people she’s capable. Natalie Portman has of late been criticized about her dancing in Black Swan, with naysayers suggesting she didn’t give as much credit as she should have to her dance double, Sarah Lane. Lane even told ONTD, “They were trying to create this façade that she had become a ballerina in a year and a half. So I knew they didn’t want to publicize anything about me.” The denunciation has been steady even though Natalie repeatedly spoke about her grueling preparation for the role, even saying that at some points, she thought she, “literally was going to die.”
Her fiance-babydaddy-choreographer Benjamin Millepied has come to Natalie’s defense saying, “Honestly, 85% of that movie is Natalie”. He dismisses all the rumors of her not putting in the work, telling LA Times, “There are articles now talking about her dance double that are making it sound like [Lane] did a lot of the work, but really, she just did the footwork, and the fouettés, and one diagonal [phrase] in the studio.” He even admits that he had to choreograph pieces to make the dancing more “fluid and less complicated. By getting more movement going, which in turn added to the camera movement — that is basically what I did.”
That makes sense to us. When we read the countless interviews that Portman gave, it didn’t sound like she had turned into an expert. It sounded like she could barely keep up! In fact, Natalie’s “evil” body-dance double Kimberly Prosa defended Natalie’s dancing saying, “She definitely put her work in. Just in a couple of months, she looked credible — all the dancers on the set were really impressed at how well she pulled that off — it was pretty amazing.” So is all this fuss about Natalie’s integrity warranted or not?

We’ve been watching Natalie Portman‘s baby bump with interest wondering when she was going to reveal the sex of the baby. We were waiting for the shopping to start to see whether she’d be reaching for pink or blue clothes, or the I’m-not-telling yellow for some hints! Although, we have to admit, the thought of tiny little pink tutu’s made our ovaries hurt!
We may not have got a confirmation from Natalie or her babydaddy-fiance Benjamin Millepied yet, but Life & Style insists they have the answer. The magazine has release a statement revealing the supposed sex of the baby, writing, “Expect Natalie Portman’s bundle of joy to be swaddled in blue! A source close to the couple reveals to Life & Style that Natalie and fiance Benjamin Millepied are expecting a baby boy! They’ve only told a very small group of family members and friends that they’re expecting a son…”
One of the inner circle clearly yakked though, so whoever you are, shame on you! But if this news is true, then congratulations to the couple. If the baby is indeed is a son, then he’s going to grow up to be quite the ladykiller considering both his parents are basically perfect. Any confirmations, Natalie?
