Bobby Brown married to his manager Alicia Etheredge yesterday at a ceremony in Hawaii while on tour with his group New Edition. We’re guessing the couple have a soft spot for concerts, considering Bobby proposed to her in the middle of a 2010 Florida gig! “I got my passion back for music and for loving myself because of her,” he told People back in 2011. Brown dressed down for the occasion, wearing a fly red tracksuit and white sneakers that matched his new wife’s gorgeous cream-colored gown. They were surrounded by family, including Brown’s children Landon, 23, La’Princia, 22, and Bobby Jr., 19, and 3 year old Cassius, who served as the ring bearer.
But as with most things in the Brown family these days, it wasn’t a totally joyous occasion. Bobbi Kristina, Bobby’s 19-year-old daughter with the late diva Whitney Houston, was not there to see his dad tie the knot. Reportedly there’s a lot of bad blood between the two at the moment, and she opted to remain in NYC to shoot her reality show The Houston Chronicles instead.
Weeks after making a rare public appearance onstage at the Billboard Music Awards to accept an award on mother Whitney Houston’s behalf, Bobbi Kristina Brown is apparently not doing so hot. Radar reports that the 19-year-old walked off the set of Tyler Perry’s TBS sitcom For Better or Worse, on which she was making her acting debut in a recurring role, and broke down in tears. She’s taped a few episodes, a source said, but has decided not to do any more.
“Bobbi Kristina had a private breakdown and barely anyone saw it,” the source told Radar. “She was crying and said she needed a minute, she needed a break to get herself together. But then she decided she couldn’t handle doing the show right now. She’s still mourning her mom.”
We’ll wait and see if any of this story gets official confirmation from the show, which is scheduled to return for its second season in July. Perry and company will probably have to do some last-minute scrambling to rewrite the show — but maybe they should have had a plan B prepared, considering the state we’ve heard Bobbi Kristina’s been in since her mother’s death in February.

Errr, can we get a “too soon?” Just a few short months after Whitney Houston’s untimely death, the diva’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has just inked a deal with Lifetime television to star in a new reality series, The Houston Family Chronicles. According to TMZ, the show will also feature Whitney’s sister-in-law/manager Pat Houston, Pat’s daughter Rayah, Whitney’s brother Gary, and their mother Cissy. It’s rumored that Whitney’s famous cousin Dionne Warwick will also be making an appearance.
“In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love, and grow,” said Lifetime EVP Rob Sharenow in a statement. The ten hour-long episodes will follow Pat and Gary “as they take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her mother.” We can’t help but feel like it sounds like an exploitative cash-in to us. Or at least some long forgotten episode of Masterpiece Theater. No word on when The Houston Family Chronicles is set to premiere, but do you think you’ll be tuning in? Let us know in the comments section!

Being Bobby Brown, what hath you wrought? According to RadarOnline, Whitney Houston‘s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown has reached a verbal agreement to star in a reality show, a choice that, if true, seems like a truly questionable decision for a lot of reasons. For example, in addition to unexpectedly losing her mother just a few short months ago, Bobbi is also allegedly embroiled in romantic relationship with her “adopted” sibling Nick Gordon as well as allegedly dealing with continued drug and alcohol abuse that has her extended family “worried sick.” All of which would make for great TV…if it was written for a fictional show. That would probably have to be aired on HBO. As if that wasn’t enough to think about, you know dad Bobby Brown is going to want in on this after starring in his own reality show in 2005, and he is less than a month out from a DUI! There are so many factors to seriously consider, girl!
“This show is being done against her family’s advice,” RadarOnline’s source claims. We’re going to go on record as giving this idea one gently raised eyebrow of disapproval. Of course we want Bobbi to be happy, but displaying her life for public scrutiny seems like it could only end in heartache. Can’t we start with a starring role in a Whitney Houston biopic and/or that Tyler Perry sitcom, and go from there?

No teenager should have to face the kind of stuff Bobbi Kristina Brown has gone through in the last two months, and the strain has definitely become clear. The 19-year-old was hospitalized for anxiety following the sudden death of her superstar mother Whitney Houston in February, and her mental state has been understandably fragile ever since. When you factor in her father Bobby Brown’s DUI, media scrutiny of her relationship with adopted brother Nick Gordon, and the grief of a lost parent, it’s not that surprising that Bobbi has reportedly been self-medicating with drugs to deal with the stress. And it makes us sad. Not Lindsay Lohan sad, but real, genuine sad.
So that’s why these reports of Bobbi getting some acting gigs are making us feel a little better. Hopefully the work will help get her out of the massive emotional funk. Just last week it was announced that she’ll have a recurring role on family friend Tyler Perry’s sitcom, For Better Or For Worse, and now she’s apparently showing interest in playing the role of her famous mother. According to TMZ, Bobbi was inspired by Lil Eazy E, who’s playing his late father in an upcoming Eazy E biopic. Even though no formal plans have been made, stars have been lining up for a chance to play the diva. Last week Rihanna was the favorite to head up a proposed feature, with Jordin Sparks, Jennifer Hudson and Brandy also up for consideration. We’re sure those ladies would all do a good job, but you just can’t top Whitney’s own flesh and blood, y’know? We’ll be pulling for her. What do you think? Let us know in the poll below!

Grain of salt alert, since this comes from Star: A source says Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family tried to have an intervention for her recently, concerned with the drinking, marijuana-smoking and pill-popping she’s been doing since the death of mother Whitney Houston. “Everyone is worried sick about Krissy … her aunt Pat got a number of her friends and family to come to Atlanta and have a serious talk with her about her sobriety,” a source told the tabloid. “There were lots of tears, but Bobbi Kristina didn’t listen.”
The report, which comes to us via Radar, adds that Whitney’s longtime mentor and producer Clive Davis has joined the effort, promising BK that he’ll help launch her career if she sobers up.
As unsourced as this story is, it’s not hard to believe. She’s understandably suffering from the loss of her mother, which initially landed her in the hospital in the days following Houston’s death. And there were reports that the day before Whitney was found in her hotel bathtub, Bobbi Kristina was found asleep in her tub. And we’re pretty sure the family has been trying to hold an intervention of a different kind, to prevent her from getting engaged to “adopted brother” Nick Gordon. If the ghost of Whitney Houston really is haunting her daughter, we hope she’s warning her to hold her head up, stay healthy and get her act together soon.

After surviving some of the toughest weeks of her life, we’re happy to finally report some good news for Bobbi Kristina Brown. The 19-year-old has reportedly been cast to appear in the new season of Tyler Perry’s sitcom, For Better Or For Worse. The show is based on Perry’s blockbuster Why Did I Get Married franchise, and Bobbi is rumored to make her acting debut as the daughter of one of the stylists. Brown has apparently been getting closer to Perry since he spoke at her mother Whitney Houston’s funeral last month.
The role will likely come as a welcomed distraction to all of the turmoil in the young woman’s life lately. Her family has said that Bobbi has been feeling “lost” in the wake of her mother’s death. “Everyone is worried about Bobbi,” an insider confided to Us Weekly. “Bobbi just doesn’t want anyone’s help. She’s lost.” Bobbi was hospitalized for anxiety, and now also has to contend with her father Bobby Brown’s DUI, and media scrutiny of her relationship with “adopted brother” Nick Gordon. Hopefully she’ll find some peace in getting her acting career off the ground.

If your eyebrows were already raised over the alleged relationship between Bobbi Kristina Brown and her “adopted brother” Nick Gordon before, get ready for those bad boys to rocket to the top of your forehead in about two seconds now: according to Us Weekly, Whitney Houston‘s daughter and the child the singer raised from the age of 12 are allegedly engaged. While Bobbi and Nick were spotted smooching in public last week, the magazine now has a photo of the pop star’s daughter sporting a massive rock on her ring finger, a piece of jewelry that reportedly belonged to Houston. According to the magazine’s source, the two “are living like a couple” currently. We don’t know about you, but we have have a lot of feelings about this. Like, too many feelings to process. Most of them tinged with confusion.
“Bobbi Kristina is still so vulnerable since her mother passed away,” their source continues “But Nick has become like her rock.” As we’ve explained before, Gordon is not related to Bobbi Kristina or Whitney genetically or legally. That being said, we don’t think it’d be a great idea for Bobbi Kristina to be marrying anybody so recently after her mother’s death on February 11. Forget the whole “practically family” aspect: we don’t think matrimony would be a good idea for Bobbi, period! Or maybe we’re just being overly cautious? We are glad Bobbi has someone to lean on during a dark time. Oh the other hand…yuck. What do you think? Go ahead and leave us a comment; we have to go lie down in a dark room for a few hours to process this.

Love is a beautiful thing … most of the time. But sometimes there are those couples that just sketch you out. Whether they wear vials of each other’s blood around their necks, sell their children to reality TV, or just overdo it with the PDA, some duos don’t fill you with that warm and fuzzy feeling! The rumors of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s hookup with her adopted brother Nick Gordon is just the latest in a long line of celebrity couples that give us the willies. Love is blind, but watching these sketchy couples sometimes made us wish we were, too. Check out the rest in the gallery below!

After being hospitalized twice following Whitney Houston’s death, it sounds like Bobbi Kristina Brown is dealing with the loss of her mother in a much more serene way, judging by her interview with Oprah for last night’s Oprah’s Next Chapter. “I’m doing as good as I possibly can at this point. I’m just trying to keep going,” the 19-year-old said. “I can hear her voice telling me, ‘Keep moving, baby. I got you.’ She’s always with me. I can always feel her with me.”
Oh, OK. That’s good. We know the feeling … that the memories of our dead loved ones live on in us, right?
“I feel her pass through me all the time. I wake up at night,” she went on. Oh, wait, she’s talking literally. Whitney is still hanging out with her daughter in their Atlanta home, and making her wake up at 5 a.m. to pray (which is kinda mean, Whit. Can’t you let her sleep in? She’s had a rough time of it!). “Lights turn on and off and I’m like, ‘Mom, what are you doing?’ I can still laugh with her and still talk to her.”
Well, we’re happy she’s laughing, at least. And hoping that the ghost of Whitney does not become the stage-mom type, and not the other person in the “we” Bobbi Kristina spoke of when she told Oprah of her plans to carry on her mom’s legacy: “We’re gonna do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing.”
