Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, and the Barden Bellas crew take their a cappella game to the next level in the Pitch Perfect 2. Amidst girl-on-girl bonding and beat-boxing, we see the familiar faces of Skylar Astin, Elizabeth Banks (who also directs the film), and John Michael Higgins reprising their roles in the sequel, plus the addition of everyone’s favorite quirky cameo, David Cross.
It wasn’t only onstage. Lots of gorgeous celebrities either whizzed through the red carpet super quickly at the People’s Choice Awards last night, or chose to skip it entirely, only to appear on stage to accept an award or two. We picked our top 10 from this list and plenty of your favorites are included. Jennifer Lawrence to begin with in a Valentino Fall 2012 Couture dress with Nicholas Kirkwood black satin pumps and Cartier jewels. Love J.Law, but not so enamored by this dress. This is the photograph she’s most working it in, but in others, it ages her and swamps her frame. Then, we have Sandra Bullock in a blue custom Vera Wang strapless bodice and pencil skirt, but what really got us excited, were her hot pink pumps matched with her hot pink lipstick. Jennifer Aniston in Christian Dior surprised us, because even though her dress was her usual black, it was quite playful and featured a flounced skirt. She paired it with Tom Ford black ankle-strap heels and Fred Leighton jewels. Emma Watson wore a jazzy, kaleidoscopic Peter Pilotto with strappy Tabitha Simmons ‘Bailey’ sandals, while Katy Perry was the most toned down we’ve seen in a while, in a demure Valentino Fall 2012 dress with Jimmy Choo suede pumps, Jennifer Behr headpiece, and Sylva & Cie earrings. Hits of gorgeous yellow were provided by Brittany Snow‘s pale daffodil draped Maria Lucia Hohan three-quarters dress and Melissa Rauch‘s bright sunflower Junko Yoshioka gown accessorized expertly with Stuart Weitzman gold heels and a gold Vincent Camuto clutch. Shout out to Ellen Pompeo for busting out some Lanvin as well! Check out all the looks in the gallery below.

The 2012 GQ Men Of The Year party was held at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. last night and as you can see above, the ladies took the black carpet quite seriously. Red means business and that’s the color a slew of stars decided to wear, as you can see above. And they all rocked red lipstick too, with the exception of Jenna Dewan who did a strong eye and neutral lip.She wore a tomato Amanda Wakeley dress with very sexy Christian Louboutin ankle-straps in the same shade. Brittany Snow wore a slinky vintage YSL dress with Jerome Rousseau heels. Then there was Rihanna who slayed them all in a very minimal strappy Calvin Klein mini dress and Manolo Blahnik sandals. Completing the red quartet was Jennie Garth and we don’t know who designed her peplum dress but it hugged every curve and made her look like a bombshell.
Monochrome didn’t fare as well as red sadly. Julianne Hough wore a Temperley London white suit that looked like something out of Saturday Night Fever. It also really needed to be hemmed as we couldn’t see her Brian Atwood shoes but at least her Roger Vivier gold clutch was cool. Rashida Jones — gorgeous woman that she is — got it all wrong by wearing a Marni top with a Band of Outsiders jacket, Giorgio Armani shorts, accessorizing with earrings by Dana Rebecca, Christian Louboutin shoes and bag, and rings and bangles by Crow’s Nest. It was just too much of a mish-mash and she looked squat, which she most definitely is not, due to those shorts. Diane Kruger went into weird avant garde territory by wearing a Cushnie et Ochs dress and Vanessa Bruno jacket which did not sit well, but her Jason Wu bag and Jimmy Choos were to die for. Cassie‘s Anthony Vaccarello gown looked like someone had a go at it with scissors but again, the Jimmy Choos were hot. Check out our gallery for all these looks along with all the other women who turned up. Favorites like Emily Vancamp (in a Reem Acra dress, and Brian Atwood heels,) Krysten Ritter (Dolce & Gabbana top and skirt) and Alessandra Ambrosio who was wearing a Sally LaPointe dress all made an appearance.

It’s one of the best song of the ’90s, but when you have to sing it over and over again, Ace of Base‘s “The Sign” gets old realllll quick. This according to the ladies of Pitch Perfect, who had to sing it constantly as part of the Bellas’ routine in the movie’s a cappella competition. Adorably, a few of the stars are still into the song, but most of them Never.Want.To.Hear.It.Again.
“There are two different scenes that we sing those songs,” Anna Kendrick told VH1 Celebrity. “So the second time we had to shoot that sequence of songs for a couple days in a row, when we had already done it for a couple days in a row, I really wanted to pull my eyes out.”
Brittany Snow, on the other hand, said “Eternal Flame” was her least favorite song. “I’m still all right with I saw the sign,” she said.
“You’re a sick puppy,” Anna replied.
“I know. I liked it.”
After you go see Pitch Perfect, come back and tell us which songs it got stuck in your head forEVER.

Rebel Wilson Was In A Christian A Cappella Group, And 9 Other Things That Will Surprise You About The Pitch Perfect Cast
Make no mistake, the appeal of Pitch Perfect is mostly in its funny moments — Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Adam Devine and others had us clutching our sides — but what makes it a great movie, rather than a collection of jokes, is the fact that the actors playing these college a cappella singers are actually really talented. When VH1 News’ Kate Spencer sat down with Anna Kendrick, who got her start as a kid on Broadway, and Brittany Snow, whose part in Hairspray showed off her singing gift too, she asked if they were nervous to sing for each other when shooting began.
“We bonded really quickly so I think that we weren’t nervous,” Snow said. “I think its just a nerve-wracking thing to sing in a movie in general.”
Kendrick admitted to feeling some pressure, though. “I remember being nervous to get my harmonies right,” she said. “I didn’t want to be the one who was like, ”Uh, Anna’s screwing us up again, thanks!’ … ‘Cause if my note’s wrong, your note’s gonna sound wrong. … Everybody has to be on it, and you have to be that piece of the puzzle, so I definitely felt pressure to learn my music. It wasn’t like we were getting all Aguliera on each other.
This is going to be a tough one. Mila Kunis pulled out all the stops for the premiere of her film, Ted, at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Thursday in Hollywood. That black Christian Dior dress (with matching jewelry, FYI) was super flirty and very risque thanks to that black sheer panel that went all the way down the front. But that wasn’t the only saucy bit of the satin dress. The very short, A-line flare of the hem had to be contained as well. No bending at all for Mila that night. She paired the outfit with a stunning pair of jade colored Christian Louboutin pumps.
You would think that with a dress like that, all other competition would pale in comparison. Not quite. Mila’s opponent came in the petite form of Brittany Snow, who also had on a very sexy Keepsake LBD along with a Kotur clutch and Le Vian jewelry. Little black dress showdown — oh yeah! Brittany’s skirt was pretty much the same as Mila’s, being short and in a flared A-line cut. But where Mila’s dress was plunging down the front, Brittany’s was a back story. The dress features cutouts on the side and a sexy, bare back which had the straps crossed over. Nude Alexandre Birman pumps completed the ensemble. Nicely played, ladies? But whose dress do you prefer? Think of it this way — which one do you see yourself wearing?

We all get by with a little help from our friends, but celebs even more so. After all, Hollywood is a tough biz, and the only way to survive the ups and downs of Tinseltown is by surrounding yourself with a few true pals who will stick by your side in good times as well as during the bumps and slumps. We’ve long loved the enduring bond Oprah Winfrey and her BFF Gayle King share, and got teary-eyed this awards season watching Busy Phillips escort her nominated pal Michelle Williams to every event in town. And who can resist dudes like Tom Sturridge and Robert Pattinson and Jay-Z and Kanye West, who are always on hand to support each other’s personal and professional triumphs?
And then there are gals like Snooki and J-Woww, who have stuck by each other from day one in the Jersey Shore house. Through booze, bitch slaps, anonymous note-leaving, Vinny sex and drunken fights on the streets of Italy, they’ve never left each other’s side. The girls have a new reality show premiering tonight on MTV chronicling — what else? — the ups and downs of their friendship. In honor of their unbreakable bond, we’ve got 35 of the Most Adorable Celebrity Besties in the gallery below. Have a fave pair? Shout ‘em out in the comments.
After Glee, Smash, that one show with Ben Folds, and you know all of the other talent shows in our DVR, you’d think this October’s college a capella movie Pitch Perfect would just be one too many peeks into the lives of young people who just GOTTA SING! But no. We watched the trailer this morning and basically forgot about all the rest. Here’s why:
1. We like Anna Kendrick as a dry-witted outsider. It’s such a change from her over-caffeinated overachieving characters in Twilight, Up in the Air and Rocket Science.
2. This is produced by Elizabeth Banks, who can basically do no wrong in our eyes.
3. Rebel Wilson (the tattooed roommate Brynn from Bridesmaids) has about 500 hilarious lines in the trailer. But also seems kind of real.
Gossip Girl fans — Jessica Szohr is now on Twitter! The actress may not have a verified account just yet because she just joined, but she did tweet this photo (pictured above), saying, “See it’s really me!!! Xx jess.” Is she voguing in that shot? She looks like she’s voguing, right? Girlfriend sure has a bunch of admirers because she’s crossed the 13,000 follower mark in 13 hours. Who knew so many people loved her character Vanessa so much, huh?
Celeb pals have also done their bit in spreading the news. Vanessa’s friend Brittany Snow tweeted, “Welcome to twitter an ol’ friend & one of the coolest chicks I know @iamjessicaszohr xo.” She’s retweeting like it’s going out of style, so if you’re a Jess fan, now’s the time to get in touch! Especially since her character’s off the show now. *Tear*.
Stars brought their A-game to VH1 Do Something Awards! Insert all applause, wolf whistles and back patting here, guys! The show went down yesterday at the Hollywood Palladium in California and we’re pleased to report that celebrities really spiffed themselves up for the event. Including the guys because this best-dressed list involves Justin Bieber, David Beckham and Adam Lambert. David looked so sharp in his suit and also, adorably, brought his son Brooklyn with him.
The ladies more than kept up. Jojo and Amy Poehler brought bright punches of color with them wearing fuchsia and sunshine yellow respectively. We also love the vintage vibe Brittany Snow and Rose McGowan were channeling. Rose had on a strapless, sexy, Dolce & Gabbana black and white star-print dress with red heels and Brittany wore a circle-cut silver animal print dress by Camilla and Marc with mustard ankle-strap pumps.
Kim Kardashian highlighted her kurves in her version of “minimal.” It was sleek, white, body hugging gown — she’s been wearing a lot of white lately, probably as a lead-up to the wedding. But we have to admit she looks pretty fab. Rounding off our top 10 are Demi Lovato and Kristen Bell. Demi looked happy, healthy and leggy in an embellished, flirty white frock. Kristen looked sleek in a one-shouldered Etro dress. Ladies and gentlemen, we applaud you. Click through our gallery below and tell us who you think was best dressed?
Don’t forget to tune-in to the 2011 Do Something! Awards, airing on VH1 this Thursday, August 18, at 9 p.m. ET!
