Divergent may be the most anticipated book-to-movie adaptation since The Hunger Games got its turn last year (though The Fault in Our Stars is surely a close second). With a release date of March 21, 2014, announced yesterday and rumors that Limitless director Neil Bruger is attached to the project, all we need now are a couple of pretty faces to obsess over. The roles of 16-year-old Tris and her love interest, Four, are sure to be a big get for any actor and we already have a few favorites already in mind. So does Twitter, where people are constantly proclaiming their love for certain stars they see fit for the leads. Let’s discuss some of our favorites here at VH1 Celeb headquarters, and then we want you to tell us who you envision getting their Dauntless on on the big screen.
Taissa Farmiga is my number one pick to play Tris, and I even have the author’s approval on this one. Veronica Roth once replied to my tweet about Taissa as Tris with “ooh. She’s spot on, looks wise.” Not only does she completely embody Tris physically, but her raw and vulnerable performance on American Horror Story proves she’s got the acting chops, too. Our friend and NextMovie editor Breanne Heldman loves Molly Quinn, telling Hollywood Crush, “Molly has a sass and intelligence that’s also so totally Tris.” Castle fans, do you agree?
By now we’re sure you’ve drooled over the Teen Choice Awards‘ Best Dressed, winced at the Worst, agreed or disagreed with our dream Anastasia Steele, and got the low-down on Beautiful Creatures from actress Camille Balsamo. Now it’s time to sit back, nosh on some dinner and be hypnotized by Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey doing a twist of sorts, Stephen “Twitch” Boss moving like the pro that he is, Carly Rae Jepsen being downright adorable and many other TCA attendees getting silly with us. Warning: GIF wall ahead!
Now, to soften the blow of listing some of our faves among the worst-dressed at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, we present to you our best-dressed list — which, thankfully, contains a couple of people who were also on the previous list: Demi Lovato and Jordin Sparks. It also has 10 more names than the worst, because overall, it was a night in which we wanted to see risks being taken, and they often paid off on the pink carpet — even if they wouldn’t have anywhere else. TV stars such as Lucy Hale, Candice Accola, Shay Mitchell and Ashley Rickards were stunning in super-bright colors. Others, like Zoe Saldana and Lea Michele, won with adorable cuts. And then, of course, Kristen Stewart was in a category all her own, in a decidedly unsummery leather-pants-and-blazer combo. (Oh, and by the way, we totally recognize why some are criticizing Demi for showing a whole lot of side-boob in her yellow showgirly dress — but since that showed up in arrival photos but never on our TV screens, we think everyone should just simma.)

You know what’s great about informal awards shows like the Teen Choice Awards? They have complete freedom to make up categories as they go along, thus ensuring that the hottest, most fan-favoritest stars of the moment will show up and take home some hardware. And no one will complain, ever. Especially as we look at the “second round” of nominees for the TCAs, which take place July 22. You can go here to see the complete list. But we’ll give you the highlights you care about most:
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 now has 11 nods, including the Choice Movie: Romance, Actor and Actress: Romance (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who already have nods for Sci Fi/Fantasy), Liplock, and Scene Stealer: Male (Kellan Lutz) and Female (Nikki Reed).
The Vampire Diaries‘ count is up to eight, with Villain (Joseph Morgan), and Male and Female Scene Stealers (Candice Accola and Michael Trevino).
And, in keeping with the zeitgeist of the year, the TCAs are shaping up to be one long celebration of Channing Tatum. He’s got six nominations to his name. In addition to his previously announced nods for Movie Actor: Drama (for The Vow) and Movie Actor: Comedy (for 21 Jump Street), he’s also now nominated for Movie Actor: Romance (The Vow again), Liplock (The Vow, with Rachel McAdams), Chemistry and Hissy Fit (for 21 Jump Street, with Jonah Hill).
The biggest question now: Will a third round of nominations include a category for Best Male Stripper Movie? Oh, wait. Is that weird when we’re talking about “Teen” choice? Sorry.

It shouldn’t be so surprising that the red carpet for the CW’s upfront presentation yesterday in New York City earns our highest praise, even after seeing the stars attend the events for Fox, CBS and NBC. After all, two of our favorite shows were heavily repp’d. We mean The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural. The former had a lot of the series’ stars showing up, Ian Somerhalder, Steven R. McQueen, Paul Wesley, Katerina Graham, Nina Dobrev, Candice Accola, Michael Trevino and Zach Roerig included. Nina looked terrific in a very tight, satin cream Dolce & Gabbana dress, while boyfriend Ian rocked a Rogue T-shirt and leather jacket with jeans. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles both suited up for the Supernatural stakes, but next time, shave, guys!
A few ladies from 90210 were also spotted — Shenae Grimes, Jessica Stroup and Jessica Lowndes. These were by no means the only shows that the CW presented. Rachel Bilson was there, pretty in Chanel, for Hart of Dixie, along with co-star Jaime King who looked tropical in a skirt and bandeau top by Proenza Schouler. AnnaSophia Robb was there scoring for The Carrie Diairies in a vintage-looking alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet dress with YSL heels. Have a look at our gallery to see who else was there! (And don’t miss our gallery of all the hot stars of fall’s new network shows.)

We’ve all been digging Kat Graham’s sexy, girl-power anthem “Put Your Graffiti on Me” lately, and we couldn’t help but picture what would happen if the song were blasting at one of those lavish Mystic Falls events on The Vampire Diaries. How much would you love seeing an Original booty popping? Well, that actually happened. Off-camera, unfortunately.
“We got a sneak peek of the video ahead of time, so Claire Holt [Rebekah] and myself definitely spent the remainder of the day going ‘tag me’ and making the little cowbell [sound],” Candice Accola, a.k.a. “Vampire Barbie” Caroline Forbes, told us on the red carpet of the Elle Women in Music Awards. Accola is a singer too, but lately she’s been showing off her skills to a more intimate audience.
“I’m in a ’90s cover band with a bunch of the crew members, and we played our wrap party,” she said. We’re not sure what they played, but she did say that to prepare she downloaded Kriss Kross’ “Jump,” Naughty by Nature’s “O.P.P.” and Weezer’s “El Scorcho.”
Happy Halloween, Fablifers! We’ve already shown you the 40 craziest celeb Halloween costumes, and our 10 faves from this past weekend. But those were all such polished, professional affairs, weren’t they? We’re pretty sure that social networking was created mostly so that we could share hastily snapped pics of ourselves and friends making fools of themselves at Halloween parties. And in that respect — silly celebs in costumes, they’re just like us! The collection below gathers the blurry, the scary, the red-eyed, the not-quite-identifiable and the wish-we-were-there shots that famous people from Nina Dobrev and Lea Michele to Eli Roth and Zachary Quinto posted to their Twitter feeds over the weekend. There are some brilliant homemade costumes in the bunch — a bunch of Glee kids as the Rugrats, Leslie Mann as Kreayshawn — after all, many of these actors started off as geeky theater kids. Some A-listers clearly got professional help with their getups (cheating!). And though some look like lame last-minute costumes, we don’t mind because still love seeing the rich and famous not taking themselves seriously.
Peruse the gallery, steal ideas for tonight, and oooh and ahhh at yet another shot of Heidi Klum miraculously making herself gross.
