We are dying at what an adorable little fancy man Katy Perry makes in drag. The singer stopped by Ellen today to celebrate Ellen DeGeneres‘ 55th birthday (did Ellen make some kind of deal with an evil wizard to look that good?), and to channel her inner dude in an amazing three-piece suit, toupee and mustache. We could honestly watch Katy dance her silly gentleman dance all day, but we had to take a break to round up the other female celebs from Lady Gaga to Gwyneth Paltrow to Amanda Bynes who look amazing in drag. And by “amazing,” we mean “like Daniel Radcliffe with a weird, sparse goatee.” Seriously, take a look.
Cate Blanchett May Play Cinderella‘s Stepmother, Continue Our Love Affair With Evil Women

Angelina Jolie in Malificient. Charlie Theron in Snow White And The Huntsman. Kate Beckinsale in the Total Recall remake. Dakota Fanning in Breaking Dawn-Part 2 (okay, maybe that one is for us.) If we had to pick the biggest trend of 2012, it would be nail art. If we had to pick a bunch of trends for 2012, we would definitely put “amazing female villains” in the top ten. With any luck, Cate Blanchett could be joining that homicidal list soon. According to TheWrap.com, the Hobbit actress is currently “in talks” to portray the Evil Stepmother in Disney’s live-action reboot of Cinderella. Can we please suggest Paul Giamatti and Steve Buscemi as Cindy’s mouse friends Gus and Jaq? And force them to wear the original mouse-fits? Enjoy the 100 billion dollars we just made you, Disney!
Anyone who saw Cate kill it (literally) as murderous government strongman Marissa Wiegler in Hanna knows Blanchett can go dark. Combine that with her Academy Award for The Aviator and we are looking at one exciting malevolent stepparent! Just go ahead and get Kathy Bates signed on as Ursula and we can keep this love affair going, you guys! If we’re making these reboots, might as well do ‘em right!

Evangeline Lilly, Cate Blanchett Make The Hobbit Premiere A Little Less Geeky

We are unabashedly excited about seeing The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey the second it hits theaters — it speaks to our eighth-grade selves as much as to the part of us that’s just nostalgic for nine years ago, when the last of the Lord of the Rings trilogy premiered. But we also are under no illusion that Peter Jackson’s latest trilogy is the most glamorous of star-powered events — let’s face it, J.R.R. Tolkien wasn’t exactly hell-bent on making beautiful women the center of attention in his books, and few of his heroes were much to look at either. And while we are super eager to return to Middle-earth and all its hobbitses and wizards and elves and dwarves, our shallow selves are also grateful to Jackson and company for making sure there’s some eye candy in the movies too.
At today’s world premiere of the movie in Wellington, New Zealand, it was Cate Blanchett — returning as elf queen Galadrial — and Evangeline Lilly — who plays Tauriel, an elf invented for the movies — who brought the token glamour to the red carpet. We love Evangeline’s new short hair-do, paired with her playfully sparkly dress (and damn, girl, those legs!). Cate appears to have some elfin magic in her IRL, because the actress has not aged a day in the past 10 years. Jackson, Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis were also on-hand to greet the costumed fans — and a couple of PETA protesters. Flip through the pics while you enjoy your second breakfasts!

Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, SJP, Anna Kendrick And Co. — Cray Or Chic For Elle?

If you’ve looked at the last two posts — the trend-spotted and the worst-dressed list — about the Elle Women in Hollywood event, you’d know a best-list was en route. Only, it’s not. Because we can’t decide whether the ensembles these ladies wore were just plain cray or really chic, and we’re going to tell you why so that the final verdict is yours. Cate Blanchett, as usual pushes the envelope in this printed Proenza Schouler dress with Roger Vivier shoes and clutch and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. It’s not hard to see why we’re split between cray and chic. Does the whole outre outfit come together, or does the print clash, especially with the black Vivier shoes. We heart Emma Stone forever, and we’ve seen and loved those houndstooth Ferragamo heels before at the The Amazing Spider-Man press conference in Tokyo four months ago. But those intense bangs with the hot pink Valentino with the Peter Pan collar and cuffs — twee or werkin’ it? The steely Calvin Klein Sarah Jessica Parker wore begs the same questions. Is the architectural bodice — and you can say this with us now — cray-cray or chic?

The next lot has Kristen Wiig, Anna Kendrick and Jayma Mays. Kristen’s hair looks so shiny and healthy and we adore the green Calvin Klein dress on her, which is clearly, in the chic category. But do those clunky Nicholas Kirkwood platforms take the whole thing to cray-town? Anna’s black with gold embroidery strapless Badgley Mischka dress is ace, especially with that metallic Mulberry clutch and Brian Atwood pumps. But does the sheer paneling at the waist it take it ’80′s cray territory? Lastly, Jayma’s electric blue Alexandra Vidal dress is spot-on trend thanks to the peplum and the color goes wonderfully with her hair and coloring. That purple Rebecca Minkoff clutch is crazy cool too! But … do her multi-colored, bondage-like Brian Atwood sandals look a little cray to you? So much chic and so much crazy, our heads are spinning. Busy Philipps, Rashida Jones and Erika Christensen after the jump! Read more…
Abraham Lincoln And The 20 Most Crazily Accurate Celebrity Portrayals Of Historical Figures

Today Abraham Lincoln gets reborn on the silver screen as you’ve never seen him before in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter! We’re pretty pumped to watch Honest Abe kick Dracula’s ass, but those blood sucking fiends aren’t the scariest part of the movie. It’s downright eerie how much star Benjamin Walker resembles the 12th POTUS! Those steely eyes, the bushy brows, the Amish beard…it’s all there!
Countless icons of the past have been popping up in Hollywood lately. Lindsay Lohan has been working overtime to bring Elizabeth Taylor back to life in Liz & Dick, while Ashton Kutcher is taking a more zen approach to his role in the Steve Jobs biopic. Andre 3000 is a dead ringer for the dead guitar legend Jimi Hendrix, and Julianne Moore could practically be Sarah Palin’s twin. If you put those two in a room with Tina Fey, we’d be totally screwed. Hell, even Benjamin Walker has some competition for Lincoln look-alike with Daniel Day Lewis also taking on the role!
For your viewing pleasure, we’ve assembled the 20 most scarily accurate celebrity portrayals of historical figures. Some rely on insane prosthetic and makeup, like Anthony Hopkins taking on the great Alfred Hitchcock. Others like Jared Leto and Charlize Theron just do totally nutty things to their body. And some, like Denzel Washington as Malcolm X, are just born with it. But no matter how they got there, the end result is always unforgettable. Take a look in the gallery below!

First Look At The Trailer Of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
IT’S HERE! Ok, not quite. Peter Jackson‘s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will only hit theatres on December 14, 2012, but the first trailer is out, and it looks epic. Lord of the Rings fans know that The Hobbit deals with the story of Bilbo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman in this film) and his quest to reclaim the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. Sir Ian McKellan reprises his role as Gandalf the Grey, and Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood and Cate Blanchett also makes appearances as Gollum, Legolas, Frodo and Galadriel, respectively. Evangeline Lilly and Luke Evans are also on board playing Tauriel and Bard.
The second Hobbit movie — The Hobbit: There and Back Again — will be out in 2013 and is also directed by Jackson. The film may have been released long after The Lord of the Rings trilogy hit cinemas, but the story is actually a prequel to LOTR. Just watch our inner nerds come out with this one.
Hanna Recap: Be Your Teenage (Assassin) Dream Tonight
Who didn’t spend their teenage years wanting to take on their dad in hand-to-hand combat? Now imagine you and Pops are both trained assassins. Welcome to the fun, pulpy Hanna, a film about a clever young woman with the mind of a mercenary and the social skills of…well, also a mercenary. While the first 20 minutes of Hanna might seem like a bad art house flick, believe me, they are a necessary precursor to the violent, campy fun this movie has in store – just soon as the protagonist gets out of the woods.

Cate Blanchett, Giant Tulle

Once again, Cate Blanchett looks stunning on the red carpet, this time at Robin Hood premiere in Cannes. What’s more noticeable though is just how much she towers over everyone. Posing with producer Brian Grazer, Chau-Giang Thi Nguyen, co-star Russell Crowe and his wife Danielle Spence, Blanchett is literally head and shoulders above them – and that’s even with Grazer’s spiked hair. Blanchett wasn’t the only one with a voluminous outfit, check out our gallery to see who else dressed to excess at the premiere.

Cate Blanchett Shows Cannes How To Shoulder Pad
Is Cate Blanchett interested in a superhero movie? Because after seeing the shoulderpads on her Armani dress at Cannes yesterday, we think she’d do a great job as The Wasp in The Avengers. Cate’s in France to celebrate the premiere of Robin Hood, in which she plays Maid Marian against Russell Crowe‘s titular archer. Though Crowe’s shoulders looked plenty sharp in his suit, the actor’s real weapons were his young sons Charlie and Tennyson, who finally have an unrestricted film of their father’s they can see on the big screen (we bet they wish Russell brought his sword, though). See photos of the stars in the gallery below.
