Hats off to Kate Middleton. Even in the midst of a nasty topless scandal, she ended up completing her tour of her South-East Asia for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with the sort of poise we can only hope to achieve one day. The tour officially ended yesterday and we’ve picked our favorite three dresses from her wardrobe from the whole week. Summery, classic and dressed in breathable fabrics, the Duchess has scored another fashion win, in our eyes. The first picture, on the left, is a beautiful white suit by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen with broderie anglaise, or eyelet, detail, worn to visit the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. She paired the dress with Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon wedges and a suede navy Muse clutch. The outfit is so elegant and simple and her belted waist looks impossibly tiny.
The photograph in the middle as an icy-blue, boat-necked Alice Temperley dress worn for tea at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Kuala Lumpur. We love the feminine sheer overlay and the white embroidery. Kate teamed the dress with her trusty LK Bennett Sledge pumps and the “Natalie” bag. Although you can’t see them in this picture, she had little pearls in her updo as well. The last picture was taken when Will and Kate departed from the Solomon Islands for Tuvalu. Kate was wearing this pale yellow, broderie anglaise (again, like the first dress) dress by “an independent dressmaker,” with Stuart Weitzman “Minx” wedges and Kiki McDonough Citrine Drop earrings, the latter off which matched her frock perfectly. A perfect trio, in our opinion. And now for the fun stuff. Kate also broke it down while she was in Tuvulu with the ladies at the Vaiku Falekaupule entertainment bash. She wore a traditional feathered tutu and headdress over her Alice Temperley maxi, and shook those hips like a pro. Can’t wait to see it? We don’t blame you. Okay, we’re just going to get straight to Dakota Fanning because can we get a “Woot woot!” She’s totally pulling out all the stops in this gold, sequined, figure hugging Stella McCartney gown. We normally never use the word we’re about to, but are going to drop it anyway because it’s so apt — va va voom. And how awesome is her body looking? Anyone can see you can’t have an extra ounce of jiggle if you want to wear a dress like that because it’s completely unforgiving. Top points for the back view as well. That’s the behind we’ve hoped to have most of our adult lives. Dakota finished off the look with two of our favorite brands — Jimmy Choo heels and a Lanvin clutch. This was worn to the London premiere of her film Now Is Good held at The Curzon Mayfair.
In the other corner, we have the literal translation of fairytale princess, because that’s exactly what Kate Middleton is looking like. The Duchess is travelling with her husband, Prince William, in Southeast Asia as a part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Tour. The occasion was an Official State Dinner at the Istana Negara hosted by The King and Queen of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. The dress was a white and gold Alexander McQueen and takes our breath away. And the floral detail is suppose to be the hibiscus, which is Malaysia’s national flower, which is just another one of those thoughful details Kate is becoming known for. What else can we say — she’s dazzling. And so is Dakota. Solid gold, ladies!
We are deliberately staying away from the controversy of those topless pictures Closer magazine of France has published of Kate’s, because they have crossed a major line. They’ve posted very blurry pictures of her without her bikini top on — showing they were taken by a very, very long lens, so it’s a gross breach of privacy. Wills and Kate were at the Provence chateau owned by Lord Linley, the Queen’s nephew, and thought they were completely alone on the estate, as they should have been. All magazines in the UK have shown solidarity with them by not publishing the photos and even the English branch of Closer has distanced itself from the story and is not taking it up. Read more…
How did we come up with this list of 30 best dressed stars for 2011? Many hours of poring through pictures of premieres, award shows, concerts, events … you name it, we saw it. We also think it’s a pretty diverse list covering our favorites and yours. Will you vote for bombshells like Jennifer Lopez or Sofia Vergara, whose Modern Family co-star, Sarah Hyland, has also made it onto the polls. Or for gamine pixies like Zooey Deschanel, Michelle Williams and Carey Mulligan? If you prefer the ingenues, then Chloe Moretz, Hailee Steinfeld and Jennifer Lawrence are on the list as well. The best clotheshorses in H’town are included and they’re the type who look perfectly at home (translation: drop dead gorgeous) in designer wear. We’re talking about women like  Anne Hathaway, Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde, Amber Heard, Mila Kunis and Blake Lively. The latter’s new boyfriend’s ex, Scarlett Johansson is up for the win, making this an interesting face-off!
You should have a heads up that there are a couple of duos in there, and we’re sorry in advance for making you choose between them. We have the two Emmas — Emma Watson and Emma Stone. We’re going to nominate this as the picture of the year! Prince William and Kate Middleton visited Centrepoint’s Camberwell Foyer yesterday, of which they’re both patrons. Serious hi jinks ensued with a 18 year old Vanessa Boeteng, who lives at Centrepoint. When the Prince asked her if he, “looked dapper in his wedding suit”, her answer got him to bust a move. Boateng said, “Nooooooo… Your swag was on point! He said ‘swag?’ Then we made up this dance. You dust your shoulders off twice.” And that’s the photograph you see, folks. Prince William and his swag dance, with Kate giggling at him. And you ask us why we love them?
The couple also got into aprons and made gingerbread and cookies topped with hundreds and thousands for all the residents. It was also 18 year old Tasha Barbi‘s birthday (she also lives at Centrepoint), and when Kate heard of the news she baked a special heart-shaped cookie for her, saying, “it’s your birthday cookie!” Click after the jump for two bonus photographs of Kate — who looked fab in an olive green belted dress — and Will getting down to it in their pinafores. We associate Kate Middleton with Alexander McQueen because of her beyond amazo wedding gown. Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, that is. After the wedding, Kate and Jenny Packham have been teaming up a fair amount, and some very memorable outfits have come out of that partnership. But look what we have here. This photograph was taken at the Sun Military Awards held at the Imperial War Museum in London last night. Look at the picture. It’s just Kate, hanging out with her two main men — in the most incredible McQueen strapless black gown and what looks like a hardcore diamond necklace and bracelet. Back to the brand that made her a princess! She is knocking our socks off and y’all know that it’s hard for anyone else to knock these socks off if Prince Harry‘s in the picture. So this is a very high compliment. For a bonus shot of Kate’s awesome bling, her general hotness, as well as the Prince William and Harry’s suaveness, click after the jump. Read more…
OK, so Prince William and Kate Middleton’s idea of date night may differ ever so slightly from ours. Because for the royals, popping out for a fun night à deux not only involves having Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles around, but their choice of venue most likely involves a red carpet. Like last night, when the couple attended a special charity concert at the Royal Albert Hall, which featured a performance by Gary Barlow of Take That. And as usual, the couple looked terrific. While the Duke looked spiffy in a suit, the Duchess looked like a million
dollars pounds in a Zara dress and Ralph Lauren jacket. We would spend days on a treadmill if the Angel of Good Legs promised to give us pins like hers. And don’t even get us started on her hair. A mane that shiny should be illegal. Lord, we love these two!

Our girl crush on Kate Middleton is anything but done. Not only do we love her, but we covet her wardrobe, as well. Out of all the fabulous outfits she’s worn officially, as the Duchess (eat your heart out, Fergie), it’s a proven fact by now that Kate and Jenny Packham are a winning combination. The latest gown she’s worn by the designer may be the best match yet. Kate and Prince William hosted a dinner at the Picture Gallery in St James’s Palace for the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal, of which William is patron. She wore a one shouldered, gathered, flowing silver Grecian Jenny Packham dress for the event and it looks stunning on her. Perfect makeup and glossy hair complete the look and if we didn’t think she was the bee’s knees, we’d be throwing darts at her.

They came, they saw and they totally didn’t conk. Prince William and Duchess Kate were in L.A for the weekend and amidst their whirl of activities they attended the BAFTA ‘Brits to Watch’ Awards at the Belasco Theatre. Did the Duchess shut it down? Yes, she did. Kate wore an Alexander McQueen gown and Jimmy Choo sandals and clutch and bowled everyone over. Including the celebrities! The royal couple were seen chatting animatedly with the likes of Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner! And each and everyone of them looked completely star struck. Also hilariously, we spotted Nigel Lythgoe lurking behind Prince William as he chatted with Nicole Kidman. Have a look and see if you can spot him in our gallery below!

No wonder the comparisons with Princess Diana have been cropping up. Not only do they share the same elegance, but Kate Middleton is also turning out to be the People’s Princess. Duchess Kate and her husband Prince William made their last stop in Canada yesterday, before they head off to Hollywood. They reached Calgary and Kate emerged from the plane looking like a million bucks in a Jenny Packham dress — the same designer she wore at their first official black tie event.
Here’s the really touching part. Kate was greeted by little Diamond Marshall, who’s a six-year-old girl battling cancer. Diamond’s wish was to meet a real life princess and it came true yesterday when she presented the Duchess with a bouquet, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Kate was visibly moved by the little girl and spent a fair amount of time talking to her and Diamond looked so happy when she received a massive hug and kiss too. And we just got teary eyed. It may not seem like a big deal to all of us — meeting the Royal Couple. But a six year old who has cancer just got to meet her princess, and that’s what counts.

Damn! The Duchess is hitting it out of the ball park with her wardrobe choices. We posted about the first slew of Kate Middleton‘s outfits a couple of days ago at the start of her North American tour with her husband, Prince William. The majority of you voted that you loved all three of her outfits. And since we love us some fascinators, we were pretty fascinated with Kate’s whimsical maple leaf hat next! Especially when matched with that cream Reiss Nanette dress.
The next lot of outfits kept up her winning run. The picture on the left is her in Issa London again. The purple dress and maple leaf brooch are both to die for, and she wore them to the end-of-day Canada Day celebrations. In the middle we have a grey Kensington dress by late designer, Catherine Walker, who passed away last year from cancer. Check out the amazing detailing on it! Princess Diana was a huge fan of Walker’s, and Carole Middleton – Kate’s mum – wore the label at the Royal Wedding as well. Kate wore the dress on their third day in Canada which started with a tree plating session at Ottawa’s Rideau Hall. Here’s the weepy part — they planted a tree next to the one William’s parents planted when they visited (it was also his first birthday). The last dress on the right is a lovely Erdem dress again, this time, for a visit to Quebec City. It’s a navy blue, lace overlay navy Jacquenta dress from his pre-fall 2011 collection.
Look at the gallery below for more pictures. We’ve also included some adorable ones of Kate and William dressed up in chef’s coats for a visit to Institut de tourisme et hôtellerie du Quebec in Montreal where they actually took part in a cooking class! As always, we’re going to ask you which of her three outfits you like best.
