If it’s Friday, you know Big Morning Buzz Live has your dose of celebrity fashion flubs. Hosts Nick Lachey and Michelle Buteau, along with style expert Jackie Miranne, ran down the low points from this week’s red carpets.
Once upon a time in Hollywood, actresses and pop divas arrived at award shows in prim and proper dresses that covered up their décolletage. Then, came the 1990s and celebrities discovered that showing some skin could get them some serious press. Since then collars have been cut lower and cleavage has been raised higher. Starlets have dared to bare not only skin, but also their actual breasts.
Mad Men may be months away, but Joan and Roger are together again in God’s Pocket (starring Christina Hendricks and directed by John Slattery), which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The list of breakout stars from the 2014 Park City fest is already lengthy–and as always, there is the far-from-shabby Robert Redford to gush about. In addition to acclaimed performances from newcomer Miles Teller in Whiplash, Hollywood royalty like Kate Hudson and Maggie Gyllenhaal have jumped into their ski boots, with impressive indie performances in tow.
The biggest names in music, movies and high society descend upon New York City twice a year to get a sneak peak at the future of fashion at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. It’s a good thing that so many designers showed so many gorgeous clothes this past week–because the 20 stars on our list are in dire need of a new wardrobe. Talk about fashion disasters…
You don’t have to give us the whole Miranda Priestly speech to remind us that what happens on the runway really does affect our everyday lives. But then again, when you look through these photos of Rihanna, Martha Stewart, Christina Hendricks, Kerry Washington, Justin Bieber, Kanye West and other famous folks in the front row of the Spring 2014 shows at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, you wouldn’t be blamed if you thought these were people watching a life-saving surgery, or a lecture on pre-emptive military strikes.
We know about all the stars with not-so-hidden show-bizzy skills (triple threats, anyone?). But what about the ones with truly bizarre, totally under-the-radar talents? Like…accordion-playing or Rubik’s Cube-solving? Here, check out the weirdest superstar hidden talents in all of Hollywood! We’re certain you’ll never think of Chris Colfer the same, again.
Ladies and gentleman, may we present the Queen of the Boob Tube (rimshot). The earth-shatterningly lovely Christina Hendricks has won our hearts by playing the icy-but-awesome Joan Holloway (occasionally Harris) on AMC’s Mad Men. The role has lead to three Emmy nominations, numerous movie roles, and her status as a burgeoning icon. Esquire magazine has named her the Sexiest Woman in the World, and we’re not ones to disagree!
Are you ready to travel back in time with the most seductive show on television? Mad Men returns for it’s sixth season tonight after far too long off the airwaves. We’re grateful it wasn’t the thousand year gap between Seasons 4 and 5, but still…We’ve missed our chance to ogle the super attractive cast, including Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss and new(ish) addition Jessica Pare!
APRIL 7 APRIL 7 APRIL 7! Did you get that? You better mark that date in your calendar with ink (no, no, with blood!) because that’s the day our beloved Mad Men returns to the airwaves for its 6th season on AMC! Show creator and drama virtuoso Matthew Weiner has been doing the press rounds, opening up on the latest developments and what we can expect from the surely-epic 2-hour premiere.
“This year it’s really constructed like a film,” he tells Entertainment Weekly. “It is its own story and hopefully it foreshadows the rest of the season…You should know what happened at the end of last season before you see the episode. The whole season is in reference to last season.” OK, sounds good Matt. But what about the plot!? Does Don cheat on his new wife Megan? Will Peggy return to the Sterling Cooper fold? Not surprisingly, he’s staying rather tight-lipped on the subject. But we’ll be counting down the days until we find out! These moody black and white promo photos will have to hold us over.

We may not have the big bucks to get the fancy blowouts celebrities get done by the best hairstylists, but there’s at least one thing we can get that puts us in the same league. Hair accessories, which have been huge this year! Floral head-pieces, sparkling stars, crystal hair-bows, and minimal metallic headbands have been all the rage and spotted on the likes of Katy Perry, Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lawrence. And plenty more, but we’ve culled out our top 15 looks for you out of all of 2012.
A couple of stand-outs for us. Sarah Jessica Parker‘s custom Mickey Mouse ears made by L’Wren Scott, worn when she hosted the Barneys New York And Disney Electric Holiday Window Unveiling in November, were to die for. Emma Stone‘s delicate gold Jennifer Behr laurel leaf bandeaux worn at the The Amazing Spider-Man premiere at Oktyabr cinema hall in Moscow in June had us floored. Chloe Moretz also wore a darling crystal hair-bow at the National Board of Review Awards gala in January that wasn’t just age-appropriate. We insist it’s appropriate for every age. Which means a 30-year-old woman (i.e. this writer) gets to wear one and not feel like we’re edging in on a 14-year-old’s style territory! Feel free to pore through our gallery for the rest of the looks!
