Whoa Topanga! Former Boy Meets World Star Danielle Fishel Covers Maxim

maxim_topanga_main

Seeing your favorite 90s crush 15 years later all sexed up on the cover of a magazine produces many emotions (just listen to that J. Geils tune “Centerfold”). We felt it when Wonder Years star Danica McKellar (a.k.a. Winnie Cooper) appeared in Stuff, and we feel it now looking at Boy Meet’s World‘s Danielle Fishel on the cover of Maxim.

Taylor Swift and Lindsay Lohan Join Our List Of 15 Famous Ladies Who Have Had Boy Band Boyfriends

Taylor Swift and Lindsay Lohan join our list of ladies dating boybanders

Taylor Swift is holding hands with Harry Styles of One Direction, Lindsay Lohan is partying down and stealing the sweatshirt of Max George from The Wanted. Boy bands are back in a big way, and they’re stealing some of the brightest lights in tinsel town! But then again, who could blame them with their cool hair and cool clothes and…other cool guys with cool hair and cool clothes around them. Gah, sometimes is really does pay to travel in groups!

Tay and Lilo are definitely not the first famous ladies who have been swayed by the charms of a boy-bander. And chances are high that they won’t be the last either! Sure, everyone knows about Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, but remember that time he hooked up with Jenna Dewan? They obviously didn’t last, but we guess she made out ok in the end by marrying Channing Tatum and all. Before her punch-filled love triangle, Halle Berry stepped out with New Kid on the Block Danny Wood. Joe Jonas can count Camilla Belle and Taylor Swift among his suitors, whereas Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus preferred his brother Nick. Head down to the gallery below to see the boy-band hookups that you totally forgot about!

Rider Strong’s Boy Meets World Letter Actually Gives Us More Hope For The Spinoff

Rider Strong says he hasn't signed on for the Boy Meets World spinoff

While some Boy Meets World fans might see Rider Strong’s blog entry about Girl Meets World, the highly anticipated Disney spinoff, as a declaration that he won’t be in the show, we’re seeing things a little differently around here. This is the paragraph everyone’s quoting this morning:

“At this point, I have no official involvement in Girl Meets World. There might be a chance to see some of the BMW cast in a guest spot, and I think it would be nice to find out where our characters have been all these years. But Girl Meets World will be, and I think it should be, it’s own show. It will be about Cory and Topanga, their daughter, and a new set of characters.”

But, guys, he says “At this point”! If you know anything about Hollywood, and spinoffs especially, it’s that nothing is set in stone EVER. And when the creators of this new show see the heartfelt letter Rider wrote about meeting people all over the world speaking the “universal language of Boy Meets World,” they’d have to be made of stone not to want to give him at least a recurring part in this show. Of course it’s going to be about Cory and Topanga’s daughter, but she’ll have other grownups in her life — maybe Shawn has become a teacher (that’s what all fictional bad boys grow up to do, isn’t it?). Or he lives next door to his BFFs. Or after a series of unfortunate failures, he’s living in their basement while he gets back on his feet. Really, the possibilities are endless.

Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel Officially Join Boy Meets World Spin-Off: This Is Happening, People

Ben Savage And Danielle Fishel Sign On To Girl Meets World

We’re not saying your individual support for the Boy Meets World spin-off Girl Meets World will guarantee the show will make it to air. However, if every single person between the ages of 30 and 18 retweeted this post, well, we’re sure Mr. Disney would take notice. Oh, Walt Disney’s dead? We see. Well, in his loving memory we can’t stop squealing over the news that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have officially signed on to play Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence (’cause you know girl is keeping her last name) in the upcoming show pilot.

According to TVLine, Girl takes place “more than a decade” after the initial show and centers on Cory and Topanga raising their daughter, eighth grader Riley. Apparently the show is in “the very early stages of development,” and a national search is on for the perfect tween actress to play Riley. Ugh, why didn’t we have a kid at 15 just in case this happened? Think, Vh1 Celebrity, think! No word yet on whether William Daniels will return as Mr. Feeny, but maybe if everyone in the world writes him a letter and they have to carry sacks and sacks of mail into his living room like in A Miracle on 34th Street? Alternately…hey, they made Tupac a hologram. They can probably render a mustache and tweed jacket pretty well too.

Disney In Talks For Boy Meets World Spinoff, Check The Cast Then And Now To Prepare Yourself

Boy Meets World Reboot

What if this is the true sign of the Apocalypse? It seems more likely the Mayans were predicting a chronologically-accurate Boy Meets World reboot than the actual end of the world, right? As the ancient legends foretold, Disney is allegedly “in talks” for a spinoff of Boy Meets World that…wait for it…might feature Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as grown-up Cory and Topanga raising a middle-school-aged daughter of their own. Can’t…scream…hyperventilating.

It goes without saying the public will demand William Daniels‘ Mr. Feeny return as Baby Girl Matthews mentor (Mr. Feeny was an immortal, right?), but we’re demanding that they bring back all the major cast members to the spinoff. We’re talking Will Friedle, we’re talking Ryder Strong. To get everyone ready for that inevitability, check out what the Boy Meets World crew has been up to since the show took its bow in 2000…
